I've owned this for a few years now. It's always been amazing. Recently setup an all metal hotend. It's pretty nice.

What type of hot end did you install and what are the setting specs that work for you?

@@codyritter581 It is a fake Micro-Swiss. Got it on Amazon for, iirc, like $12. I needed to modify it though(I have a benchtop milling machine). Otherwise it wouldn't fit. It was slightly too wide at the top to fit inside the housing with the board and everything. I should mention this was for the upgraded hotend... the "Titan extruder for HICTOP D3 Hero, D3 pro(Tenlog D3 pro)", also on Amazon. If you have the will and the tools it can be done, if you have the Titan upgrade, with a hotend that is compatible with ender 3. It may well work with the stock parts too. There isn't an all metal hotend "hot swap" option for this printer that I'm aware of. I run carbon fiber infused nylon mostly with a tungsten nozzle, at around 270°. Some PC blends around 290°. The TL-D3 pro claims to do this without a problem, but I disagree. The stock machine settings will let you take the hotend up to and over 300° without any mods, but it's not recommended unless you want to mess around changing the tube all the time. But it can do it! The original hotend's ptfe tube melted inside of the cooling block. It was why I wanted to upgrade in the first place. Originally thought the Titan upgrade WAS all metal. It isn't.

Can you print metal/copper filament with this printer without needing any upgrades?

no, would suggest getting a hardened nozzle for stuff like that

This was my first printer, so I really have nothing to compare it to. I use the absolute crap out of it, and I haven't had any major issues (yet). I did have to upgrade my extruder boards because of issues you mentioned with the large connector. Other than that, all of my issues can be chalked up to user error.

I've never understood why people place the extruder cables over the top! There is room(at least on my version) on the bracket for the z-axis lead screw, directly behind the screws, to zip tie them. This way they travel up and down as the z-axis moves. Looks way cleaner and works perfectly. Also, they're not dragging across the top of the gantry.
*Send them under the top rail, run it all the way up. Check your slack and zip 'em down. Never worry about it every again.
