    Love that you timed how long it took you to put it up! Nice size tent, I like that you have head room in the entire tent! Have a great day!

    • @DMSAdventures
      @DMSAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ya head room is one of my top criteria! i gotta be able to stand up and stretch my back. I hate feeling like I'm folding into a taco to get changed etc. We time the put up and take down of all of our new tents to give Ye Faithful Few an idea of what to expect when they do it for the first time. Its been well received and appreciated over the years so we keep doing it! Thanks for watching Flack Fam!!!! :-)

    Liking the look of that one. Hope to see it in person sometime. Next meetup we will have to compair it and the little gazelle. Love that it comes with better stakes. Our ozark trail had lights like those be sure and unhook them when storing they like to turn on while packed up and you end up with dead batterys.

    • @HoosierOutdoor
      @HoosierOutdoor 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      On the rain fly.. Start with it inside out on the front. Hook up the both ends. Then grab the back two lines. And walk them over and back towards the rear. Lol learned the hard way.

    • @DMSAdventures
      @DMSAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ya in the 2nd vid i talk about how we'd probably leave the batteries in it and end up with a bunch of battery acid in it! I hope you can watch the other 2 vids. You might have good input since you got the T4. On the rain fly, ya i basically had that idea and actually put it up again.! I didn't show it cause i didn't do it much faster the 2nd time!! I bet the gazelles are easier since that pole actually plugs into the corner and keeps it in place. The straps fall off easier on the Magellan cause it's hard to keep tension on them! Thanks for the input and the comments! Hope to see ya soon!!

    Thinking about getting this tent and I appreciate your video!
    The official how to video shows them putting the rainfly on before pushing the ceiling into place. Perhaps that makes it easier?

    • @DMSAdventures
      @DMSAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I ended up reading somewhere that they expect you to open those vents before you even put the rainfly on. It's just if you forget... you're out of luck! It's a super cool tent... just plan on having a tarp to throw over it if it's going to rain super hard!! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!! 😀

      I added spray water repellent to the rainfly and tent body water just beads right off.

    Yikes $640 👀 ... how much was this one? Lol... the warning to read the directions... that always cracks me up! Wow! Went up really quick ... minus the other small pieces! Ya, the rain fly is always a pain... especially if only one person is setting it up! Great 1st review! 👋👋

      @DMSAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This one comes in at $320 which still isn't super cheap but by comparison its a steal!! Haha ya the warning seems a little dramatic! I was very happy with the setup process, just needs a little tweaking on the rain fly... or help! No way its 90 seconds total but still super fast for the size! Thanks for watching and commenting Ashley!! :-)

  • @Knowfere
    @Knowfere 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Pretty sure you have your rainfly on reversed. It seems the longer corner points would be on the flatter end of the tent...and the shorter ones over the bubbled end of the tent?

    • @DMSAdventures
      @DMSAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Goodness!! I think you might be right. It would make more sense for those short corners to be on the side with the door. Then it wouldn't interfere with the door AS much. The strap would still be in the way. I don't think that makes any difference on how the rain fly performs though. Thanks for tipping us off Linda!!!! :-)

    Excited for the rest of the series. We have been looking at the T8 for a couple of months and I’m all for a cheaper option if it’s just as good. I’ll be curious how airflow and water protection would compare since the T8 has the larger fly that is raised on the ends by the shock poles…

    Any advice on drying the tent?

    • @DMSAdventures
      @DMSAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do you mean when the inside gets wet? Presuming it isn't raining anymore get everything out of the tent and air dry it all. Open all the windows and doors in the tent. Use a shirt or some cloth to soak up any puddles and wring them out outside, then just let the tent air dry!

      It is a tall tent. Try and maybe hook the fly into the bottom corners on one side. Then walk over one corner. If it stays hooked in the first two corners you should be able to get it.

    Just before you popup the roof put the rain fly on- the roof is disappointing as I really thought it was see through plastic and you could unzip it i wish it was instead of the screen netting you really need to add the rain fly on it at all times
    - I wrote on your other post months ago I would be buying the gazelle tent but the price point on this one finally got me - so I jumped in - I picked it up in a Cadillac SRX and put the box inside barley had the room even with the seat down as the SRX is basically a station wagon or suv kinda vehicle when I got home I took it out the box thinking the tent would be shorter it was 7 feet 8" inches- so if you had a family and had to place the seat down to carry and put it in side the vehicle even an suv it's long and you would been the seat down - so to put it on top of the car/suv you need tall people and two people it's not lite the handles should be on both ends - I was told by the guy at the store he puts his on his roof rack and wraps it in a tarp so incase he is driving his tent doesn't get wet - I have it and debating talking it back as like I said it's huge it's just us too and maybe too much tent - it's definitely not a tent to overland and set up every day for a 7 or 14 day trip out

      You are correct on all counts! These are long Tents! You might consider the Gazelle T4. I know several overlanders who are just 2 people that use that. If the T4 is still too expensive look up "Trail Medic" on TH-cam. He got a knock off of the T4 that seems like a great budget choice. Ya if it isn't going to work for you then take it back!
