This is a great tent for the price, used it multiple times already with no issues. The concerns you mention are minor inconveniences at best, easy to set up, plenty of room, doesn't leak, headroom isn't really a concern because we just use it for sleeping 🤷♂Again, for the price and the size there's aren't many if any other options available. This is a perfect tent for the casual camping family.
Your issues that you identify are not significant to warrant it a bad investment. Coleman does say to position your tent to face the wind, and while the ceiling tapers off a bit it is not made of iron to cause an concussion. I have never seen anyone put their shoes on while sitting on the inside of the tent. Also, its a 6-8 person tent, no one is going by themselves with a tent like this to a camp site. You will have a buddy to help get it setup quickly. So please do a proper review!
I am guessing TH-cam recommended your video because I had earlier looked up a tutorial for setting it up. I have used it several times now and it is fine. It is the first large tent I have ever purchased so I do not have anything to compare it to. I wanted a large tent because my wife and I are getting older and my appetite for sleeping on the ground has decreased. I put a full height queen air mattress in it and also tables and chairs etc. I like the overhang in the front and the hinged door but like you said, it could use some more ventilation. I did sit through a big rain and wind storm in it with no leakage. Thanks for the video!
This is $93 on walmart right now. I'll take a chance at that price. I grew up with Eureka's, but this looks build well enough. Nothing that a little seam-sealing can't fix!
I have had this tent for some time and I do agree it is a little irritating to setup. But my biggest beef is the quality of the poles. I have had two split under tension and had to repair them. But it was really cheap… so cheap that I got it for a single event where it ended up snowing and raining the entire trip and it was dry the entire time. I kept using it when I didn’t feel hauling our RV on backwoods trips. You can certainly do better but its definitely not garbage. I think they manufactured at the best quality they could at that price point.
Just used this tent again for the third time in 4 years. We got so many compliments from other families and had so much space for our little toddler. Definitely considering spending $600 on a more heavy duty tent
Everyone has an opinion, i've set this up myself no issues, faster with someone helping. it's been through rain storms with no issues, it hold a full size queen air mattress and 2 twins with space. for the price and size i WOULD recommend it, it has a electric cord pass through, put a dang fan in the tent..... anyone who is bringing this tent anywhere is probably only going to campgrounds with electric hook ups anyway.
Good review, valid points indeed. That being said I love my Montana Elite. The ventilation is a bit lacking but I usually just place a fan near the bottom inlet to draw in fresh air. I just wish they made a 10 man version.
It is camping it requires some work to set up a campsite. The price is good for this tent and you can add seam sealer to the seams if you're worried about water. And the awning is nice when spring storms float in.
Thanks for taking a look at the family tents like these. There aren't a lot of channels that are as detailed as yours that cover family kind of casual camping equipment.
Oh we have one of these. I have a great single tent from big Agnes but this is our family tent. Easy to put up with another person. I love the space. I love the swing door. I despise the airflow and lack of windows. It is miserable when it's hot. Think the bag is just fine to repack though, especially with the extension, never had an issue. I would not buy it again.
I have this tent, and have comfortably slept 5 adults and my 70lbs Boxer. You mentioned the lack of airflow venting, but then show one side window with the mesh top exposed. I think you're nit-picking there. Also the door; I didn't use the swinging option either, but regarding your Con about the bottom of door height, I think this is a plus. If you notice, the water resistant bottom comes up about 6 inches all around the sides. And the door opening is above that. I think this is to prevent any chance of leaks due to degraded structural integrity, if the door bottom cut into the water barrier. And the "wrong zipper" thing, if it's that confusing to you, why don't you just put a tag or key fob on the one you want to use? Again, Nit-picking. And as far as setting up by yourself? My thought is: if you are using and 8 man tent, you should have some extra people on hand that can help out. BTW, my son and I put our tent up without any help.
Have had this tent for a couple of years now and used it many times. Rain find its way in every time. Probably one of the worst tents I’ve ever owned. This review is spot on, except for the part of it being weather proof.. it’s not
Nice video, I thought about buying it for me and my sister, we are first time camping in the desert and we wanted a big tent to be comfortable, but now I think I will look for something else.

100 bucks ..i believe its a steal
Agree. Don’t know what else people are expecting.
I found a great tent for weekend camping trips for a family. Only down is scarse resistance for wind, a 30mph in open plain made us decide to go home

had this tent for over 10 years, no issues, lots of space thanks for your opinion

The door is the key factor for me. I can't stand dealing with a zipper every time I go in and out, so the door is huge for me. Love it.

Had our first one ten years and still works 🤷🏻♀️ LOVE this tent

What do you recommend as alternative?
I set this tent up with my 7 year old son in about 10 minutes and I don’t call myself a set up expert 😂 not sure what you are talking about.
Are there covers that can go over the mesh windows/doors or is there no way to keep the tent insulated from dust?
Have had this tent for a couple of years now and used it many times.
Rain find its way in every time.
Probably one of the worst tents I’ve ever owned.
This review is spot on, except for the part of it being weather proof.. it’s not
So what would you recommend for 8 people at each price point
I bought this tent with $70 on Amazon Prime Day! Totally worth it!

I am curious about the new inflatable tents. Gimmicky or the way of future tents?
i saw one at our group camping, realy cool when it is placed, but it takes so much time to build it for 2 person!
Could you take a look at the Nemo Aurora Highrise?
Love my Montana 6
Is it a good deal at 99.00 currently on sale somewhere.. ;)
We can fit a queen, pack n play and kids bed in this thing fine. No issues with it.
I thought he was joking/trolling. Guy couldnt figure out how tonuse the zippers so he makes a video??
