For our final video at On The Rocks in Georgia, we're touring their 20ft tiny shipping container home called The Belvedere Box!
Located only 15 miles from downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee, this Airbnb is part of the On The Rocks compound. On The Rocks is a collection of 3 container home Airbnbs on top of Lookout Mountain in Georgia. All of the homes have some crazy mountain views and face directly toward sunset so don't miss it.
This particular container home has a well-stocked kitchen with a mini fridge, cooktop, and microwave, a queen bed, and a full bathroom, all within the 160sqft of interior space.

I would make a window a bit larger, so that I could enjoy the scenery even right off my bed, this is a very great feature in rainy days

"The path is a little steep." So you think that's a "little harder" to get to? Try sitting in a wheelchair on that path with those logs, or a scooter, or needing to negotiate the path using crutches or a cane, needing a railing or other assistive device. You wouldn't be able to get there at all! I've seen new tiny homes for sale thwt boast they're handicap accessible, where the builder needs to climb up a vertical ladder or stairs to get to the bed loft so he calls it a "spare bedroom for grandkids," stoves where the controls can't be reached by people who are sitting or are little people because they're on the back wall and you'd need to reach over hot burners and steaming hot pots, faucets too far away with no kick spaces below.
These places are all so cute if you're young and able and have no children, but remember that 25% of us conservatively are disabled, and after you're 65 years old, 2 out of every 5 people are disabled, which means 40% of us. Odds are you will be, too. How about thinking of designing villages and even just public restrooms with what we call "universal accessibility?" Places that everyone can use and live in. I've seen them online, they already exist, everybody can live there, totally desegregated.
Oh look! In the Belvedere box, all the outlets are unreachable on the back wall! And the microwave wouldn't be reachable, either!
Even the shower is built up along the front, when it would have been just as easy to just put in a low, barrier-free edge for those who can't get over that ledge.

Airbnb or used as guest homes behind your actual house is all these would be good for. Because there would be no space to keep anything nor be able to invite people over.
I don't like it, because of the other container homes being so close. When people want to vacation, they do not want to look at their neighbors. So for me it's a hard pass.
This is not a home but a room. Don't miss label it.
It has a bed a kitchen and a bathroom with a shower so this is absolutely a tiny home
