The best intro ever from a car blogger?! Absolutely brilliant. The fact you’re doing this with such little budget and producing international broadcast quality segments is a true testimonial to your skill and persistence. Hell yeah. Keep it up.
Genuine enjoyment in this thing, one of those cars you just need to go and try yourself. Next video will be finally going for the first drive in my new Porsche!
The Alpine is more interesting than any Porsche. The 911 still looks like a flattened KdF car aka Beetle. We need more cars like the Alpine, GT86/BRZ. Small lightweight sports cars. Even a new compact Ford Escort Cosworth would be great. The cars of today are built way too big, heavy and full of electronic shit.
Enjoy with this french car ! 😁✌
Your video was a a highlight of my Sunday. The different edits you make are a nice way the cars stand out. The cars become much cooler with your editing skills. Switzerland is a beautiful place as well. I'm excited to go there! Lastly, the cars door panels remind of the Divo because of the color and the French flag.
Nostalgia... when a TH-cam video filmed, hosted and produced by ONE person reminds you of the glory days of Top Gear UK ;) Yet another fantastic video mate! As for the car, would you prefer this or a Renault Meganne RS280?
Interesting to see how your content has evolved but a lot of your signatures are very evident….would love you to revisit the Alpine A110 given all the points of comparison that you now have 😊
We need more sub-1200kg sports cars. Amazing filming and editing that get better with every video. But...that weather !!! I live in the Algarve, so i wouldn't even step outside with that amount of snow, let alone drive ! 😂
Recently I took delivery of my A110 pure and, at first I kinda felt like what was all the hype about( it replaces my Mk3 Audi TT, shares a garage with my Nissan 350 Z, VW Arteon and current Volvo V60) but now after a few weeks its all starting to make sense , I think I’am really warming to what the A110 is all about. Glad I wasn’t the only one who didn’t get it from the start. Cheers from warm Brisbane .
Remember the old days at Monte Carlo rally. It was like this. Suspension for real life. Performance for real life and even bucket seats for real life. Still weighs about same as 4C or lotus which are not for real world conditions.
Nice video Luke! You are so lucky to be able to drive a car like that for a few weeks. I don't know if we will ever see one of those in North America let alone be able to drive one. Lucky Luke!
Great Video Luke! Love it that you tried it on snowy roads. So great. Did you try without track control just for fun ? Guess TC has to be ... Also, you seemed to have enjoyed the Alpine, like most of the ones that tested it. You still prefered to buy a 718...ok, realized it's a GTS. Still, can you tell us more about what drove your choice ? Thnks
Thank you for the video! I Simply love this car! I just hope the other manufacturers making cars with the same filosophy...mid engine.. lightweight and not so much expencive
Luke so how do you compare this A110 to your Cayman because that's the million dollar question, all the journalist are saying its as good. In the driving perspective.... Also interested why you feel this won't appeal to younger drivers. In must be more affordable as a used buy and maintenance... compared to Porsche.
@@Franzino don't disagree with anything you say, perhaps rather than trying to establish Alpine as a independent brand, just leave it with its history related to Renault, most people don't buy the separate brand thing anyway and Renault is still very much part of F1, which in time might appeal to youngsters. If they don't find a younger market it could be a critical failure and I don't want to see that. Its new price is equally not helping it against Porsche... but we know used values won't hold over time like Porsche... given its a Renault, on the flip side its cheaper to maintain and repair for younger drivers. The A110 is definitely an individual's car, which will stand out from the crowd.
Alan Hunt, lol, seriousely ... this Alpine has so little to do with Renault. Probably as much or even less than Bugatti with Volkswagen. Yeah, the new Volkswagen Chiron. That sounds about right when I read you. lol Oh, you probably have not driven one yet. Renault make quite good sportscars, like the Megane RS, but frankly, this car was developped with a completely different Spirit. Definitely different than a Renault. Coming to the price, the 718 is no where near the A110. 718 is at least 10k EUR more expensive if you take the minimal options. If you talk about reselling a Porsche, there are quite a list of options you simply have to take because otherwise you will not resell it. In terms of brand image, I agree Porsche will most certainely continue to be far ahead for still a very long time if not forever. The Alpine is not a car you buy for the brand, although it also tells people a lot about you, the Alpine is a car you buy for the immense joy of driving it. You buy it because it's unique, because no other car comes anywhere close to the amount of simple joy you feel when driving it. You can't imagin the number of Alpine owners who switched from Porsche to the A110. As you can guess, I'm one of them ;)
Which drone do you use by the way Luke? I was checking other videos, i thought you mentioned it once along with the music and other link you add but I can't find it. Is that DJI Mavic?
Luke, the specs sound like it could be the ultimate mountain track weapon! Does it have rear wheel drive? If yes, I will love it even before driving it!
Hey man great job as always. Such a beautiful mixture of car and scenery. Did the car have winter tires on? I was wondering the same about all your snowy videos actually.
Thanks and yeah for sure always with winter tires, it's a must here in Switzerland during winter months otherwise videos would be mainly of me just stuck on hills ;-)
Another great installment. Wish you could make these a little longer and post more often, but I know it's easier said than done! But would love to test drive one of these little beauties. It's depressing how safety regulations are making cars more and more heavy (which I understand is a necessary evil). But it just shows the kind of performance you can get with weight saving without the need of resorting to even heavier, more expensive engines that can crank out 700hp for a two-ton car. *sigh
I was at the same decision. I bought the Apline A110 in white 😊 Such a beautiful car. It feels a little bit lighter than the TT an more real. TT is more smooth.
Azap, I loved that too, and that's such a relatable statement. Everyone wants to aspire to a car with a good smile per gallon ratio, it just sounds FUN; this car certainly looks the part. That's one of the reasons Luke's videos are so watchable, his whitty banter, the others are numerous, and not to mention every video he makes is ultra beautiful, I love his cinematography. Thanks for sharing, Matt
I don't think this car only appears to people who were around when the old alpine was successfull. I am old, but not quite old enough for that. A "light" car with a good power to weight ratio made for fun driving i find interesting. And as i don't fit (lenghtwise) in a Mazda MX5/Miata or an Alfa 4C the Alpine sounds interesting. What slightly puts me off is the absolute lack of storage in the interior, the fixed paddles and the lack of luggage space. (just look up how a spare wheel sould be carried). About the video, i'm kind of new to this channel, but the volume difference between the music and your talk makes it harder to watch. (I'm no fan of the music and as it is way louder than your voice this means i have to constantly have my fingers on the volume control.)
Hey Luke were you running winter tyres or the standard tyres? I have an Alpine and I'm wondering if I'd nee to switch the tyres over for an Alpine trip in the Alps.
Yeah it had winter specific tires on, depends what month you go to the alps but yeah ideally you need winter tires on to be safe as the weather changes so quick here
@@carswithluke Thanks, do you know which tyres it had fitted? I also just found a marketing pic with a ski rack on the back which looks pretty sick, I'm trying to source one.
Great video. Can you post up your kit? Quality is very good. The lack of fake smiles/laughs/use of dads money/Lamborghinis/wraps/cheese and other stupid crap in your videos is a revelation. Keep up the good work Luke.
Chris Pfuhl Can’t wait to drive in film it! And yeah winter tires or I wont be going anywhere in Switzerland :-) will have them fitted this week ready for the first drive
Always wondered how the alpine manage snow. Does it, being a rear wheel drive car make it a bit doll on snow, or does it actually have good traction compared to popular "snow" cars?
The tires are crucial, the recommended Michelin Alpine 5 are perfectly fine on snow, but they cannot replace all-wheel drive, which is necessary on gradients or in particularly muddy conditions.
Yes.
Finally.
A Alpine on snow and ice in the Alps.
Can't really beat that.
That car looks so cool.
Great video.
Denis Spratt Thanks, was great in those conditions, happy it was enjoyed, will miss this thing
Alpine A110, de best ! Made in France. 👍❤🇫🇷🇫🇷

Absolutely man 👌🏻 and thanks!
If you think the current A110 is a small car, you should try getting into an original one!
I saw one recently, couldn’t believe how small it was

The scenery and the snow is incredible.
Had to rewatch at 2:38 because the shot/music composition was so incredible! You're a real artist/craftsmen with a sharp eye! Thanks Luke!
You're one the best car reviewers on youtube. Such a genuine personality and funny. Your filming is beautiful also. Keep up the great work Luke.

Damn I miss Switzerland! Best six months of my life.
The original Alpine A110 was designed to be a rally car. Not a surprise it is such a hoon as well.
Amazing video, and some lovely cinematics as well. Great job, great car too!
