This car is not made for the soporific freeway or the straight and boring roads but for the mountain roads, this is its favorite area, especially if there is a lot of snow. The A110 is also very fond of dirt roads, have fun with its lightness, its contained power, its "made in France" handling, enjoy the machine!

Gordon Murray famous F 1 car designer , bought a new Alpine.
In an interview , Murray said the tiny, 4-cylinder sports car has the best ride and handling of anything he's driven since the Lotus Evora, which was his previous favorite.
The Alpine is “the best car I’ve ever driven for ride and handling,” Murray said. “It’s better than a Porsche. It’s better than supercars. It’s absolutely brilliant.”

Car is amazing. Keeps up with some of the real big boy supercars! Cannot get any better for the price, would chose this over any "R", "RS", "AMG" and even better than some porsche... Car is a dream

Nice drive, lovely scenery and a characteristically interesting review of a likable sports car that we don't see here in the States. ; )

The funniest think at that car is , so rapid and so light and you will feel that power ( maybe you will feel 450 BHP ,then you will discover later, no it’s 252😌),
    Best wishes Anna.

I am used to the paddles on the VWAG of cars, but there is some reason behind the madness. In some cases, one should not change gear while turning - as this might unsettle the car. Ferrari and Lamborghini have stuck with this layout.

Great review, Anna! I really like the idea of a nimble and light sports car. I suppose not for daily driving? French engineering is a bit of a question mark - they seem to get the feel, performance and driving right, but everything else then feels 2nd class? I know it’s not a direct competitor (price), but for something like this (weekend fun) I think the new Cayman/Boxster GTS 4.0 will be the best of both worlds... But hey, this is nearly new C8 Corvette money - I know where my money (if I had any left after the M6) would go... 😎👍

Interesting, hopefully they also revive the iconic A310. The 911 also needs a rear engine rival.

Boy oh Boy... did I enjoy this video ! From the start, your brown jacket is absolutely gorgious ( I am a sucker for brown leather anyway). It reminds me of Bentley seats... ( I know, most women would frown at been compared to a car, but not you! Specially to a Bentley:) ) . Ok, next: The car! Wow, it's been a long time since I have been proud of being French, when it comes to automobile (except for the infotainement system, which you wisely turned "off" immediately.. French engineering, what can i say...). It's a shame to see a country with such a brillant automotive history, that was once THE #1 country for luxury automobiles (Delage, Delahay, Facel Vega, etc.) now turned just a "mid-range practical " car maker.. But now, YES, this Alpine revives the spirit of passion. Truly a passionate car. Yes, I love this white color. And YES i do agree that a manual box would have been great for the old-school grumpy old men like me... BTW , there is now an "S" model, with +40 HP, supposedly half a second faster on 0-100... Must be really fun. So, thanks for this great video Anna, it's been one of those that I have been watching 3 times in a row... and not just for your brown jacket.... THANK YOU !

    2. Being blonde has nothing to do with intelligence.

Nice car, but why is it $ 72K :o. Is it a carbon fiber chassis ?
I just can't see myself paying 72K for plastics that look like they belong in a base model Corolla.

Aluminium chassis and body! Drive a Corolla and then try the A110 and You'll see why it's expensive!

Oh Anna. Gloves on for the intro. Gloves off for the drive? And we need to think about where our hands are placed on the steering wheel whilst driving please. You need to set a better example for your dear followers. Car control is maximised with the correct positioning of the hands on the wheel, even when negotiating hairpin. I dont mean to be critical, so l hope you take my comment ts as they are intended, just as observations. Danke!

These are my warm very warm gloves, not driving gloves actually. I change things up, sometimes driving gloves on, sometimes off.
As much as I am happy to take a constructive criticism on board, in the instance of the paddle shifters, I beg to differ. If you make a hard turn, you simply cannot upshift or downshift. It might work perfectly on the track but not ideal in the mountains. You can see how hard are the turns on the road I drive and how up and down it flies. If you don’t make a turn hard enough, you will fly elsewhere. You have to take your hands of the steering wheel if you want to upshift or downshift during a hard turn.
And yes, I’ve had plenty ‘internet instructors’ telling me that I’m doing this incorrectly. Then I’ve asked the real professionals.
Of course the way around it is not to use the paddle shifters on a road like this but as much as I praise the gearbox, a steep and sharp mountain road such as this one, is a place to use the paddle shifters. Simply because the performance increases dramatically and you can have so much more fun.

Nice review. Too bad fit and finish is spotty. Still wish the car was available here in the USA.
