That railway crossing is Seosomun Crossing(Seosomun mean West-Small Door. This is a gate built in the Joseon Dynasty in 1396. a crossing near the Seosomun was built and the name Seosomun came.) Therefore, the KTX-ll often combines two trains and operates. The maximum speed is 300 km / h.
I'm a student at Korea Railway University. I think it's my job to let people know about Korean railways! I love your video and plz come to Korea again!
seosomun-railroad crossing is one of the most crowded railroad crossing in south korea. There are so many different types of trains passing there in less than five or one minutes.
First KTX is a train the same as to TGV in France but double the length, some were built in France. 1:46 a couple of rock doves also joining in with the train spotting. 2:12 a nice sounding EMD.
The train at 3:01 looks like a very short metro (subway) train. It's amazing to see a train like this running on the same tracks as high speed and intercity trains! Also the mix of diesel and electric catenary wire trains is interesting to watch.
This is a commuter train of the Gyeongui line. This line connects Seoul to the border with North Korea but only the DMZ train (2:37) goes to the final station. Most of the trains seen in the video are empty and are going to the depot.
Many train use same track near seoul station but their destinations are different. But there's some tracks that don't have electric wire. So some trains that go through that line use diesel.
En Corée du Sud, j'ai l'impression de retrouver des trains de tout pays. La Locomotive diesel avec une ressemblance avec les Loco diesel américaine, la sorte de BR152 et bien-sûr les KTX ! Encore une belle vidéo
I know where that is as I stayed at a hotel near there on several occasions when visiting Seoul. I was surprised to see an old style level crossing given Seoul has one of the most extensive underground metro systems of anywhere on planet Earth 😮😁
Looks like some fascinatingly varied rolling stock. They have TGVs in S. Korea then? That electric loco' looks a lot like DB class 152. And that one 1:54 is very interesting. And GM diesels too!
You're right,I'm Korean and our rolling stocks are quite global lol: French high speed trains, French electric locos for freight train, German electric locos for passenger train, American diesel locos, Japanese subways,,, etc. Although Almost all of them made by hyundai or other Korean maker but there bases are so global.. ps. You can see a Japanese style subway pulling by a American diesel when there is a new subway arrive haha
That train at 1:08 rather looks like Siemens TRAXX, in use by many European railway companies in regular Intercity service and by NS in the Netherlands as high-speed loco (capable of speeds up to 200 km/h, though normally used for speeds up to 160 km/h only).
@@ErebosSan Hmm that is true but as I know Korail class 8100s are based on it and the train at the crossing was a copied Korean Korail class 8200. I might be wrong.
Great video and wonderful mix of trains. I love the profile shot at 3:30; so cool!! I really love the trains in South Korea. Makes me want to travel there again!
The warning lights are very sparse in S. Korea at those large intersection crossings compared to the 6 or more pairs of warning lights at such crossings in the U.S. Furthermore only one set is flashing. The others are steady red. In the U.S. all warning lights flash.
Belles prises Erebos !
How frequent are the subway services through here? I presume this can't be a very busy road else a subway along with all the other trains would cause serious traffic issues

Why .... how do you know this railroad crossing ? Very good
Yes. I live not very near but I see a lot of trains on this crossing. I see a lot of very clean trains .
I don't think I've ever seen a high speed train go through a grade crossing before
Here are some examples from Germany and Switzerland:
