Yeah I was dying to film the collection and go through them all again, such wonderful comics. Just had to find some time to do so. Thanks for bringing this collection into my life, you and your shop are super appreciated.
Yer right - those Jimmy Olsen books are a bargain. i picked up some more at a very high priced comic store but these comics were still very reasonable. I love the cover where Jimmy is in self confinement in a transparent cell in his basement , looking like he needs a shower & shave, and very hungry. Superman has a tray of delicious food and says, “Jimmy, come out of that cell and eat this super meal!” But Jimmy won’t eat anything good or leave the cell. So many fun covers!
I collected many old and not-so-old comic books when I became a collector in 1972. I sure am glad I got them when I did now that I see how much some of them would be worth today.
Thanks man,i really enjoyed this one . Supes has always been a favourite of mine and you have so many great covers there. my favorites ,? Anything with the legion on the cover of course, lol ,but theyre all cool imo ?!
You are very welcome and I 100% agree with you they are all very cool to me. But the Legion covers or any sci fi or monster cover is extra awesome to me.
12:26 “okay, so this one is kinda like a bigger key”, he says of an issue that has a literal big key on the cover. 😁 I thought that unintended pun was funny.
Great Superman video! I've never seen most of these.. The Action Comics, Adventure Comics and Superman all have their original color brightness, a quality missing from other books I've seen from this era. You make this video so much fun! Thank you ✌️
sometimes i buy them on ebay . like this i am learning english/american languages . at home, i ve a nice collection above all lois lane , some action comics and superman .
@@GodLovesComics Haha yeah some of the covers I could see needed something to help keep them attached but others it looked like the just had fun stapling lol
Great video! Love your collection since it reminded me of how much I loved Curt Swan's art 😍. What a great trip down memory lane because I had so many of those comics. (By the way, I think the Super Ants story was my first Action issue) Thanks for sharing.
Great collection!! No matter the shape happy they still are in the world. Every time I see them I think of them in stores and in the spinner rack or shelve where they were sold.
The Action Comics with JFK came out after his assassination as it was already printing/shipping when everything took place in Dallas. Great run of books though.
Ah so it was manufactures and ready to go but had not been released yet. I was not 100% familiar with it, was just using notes from a few different sites.
I have only really been doing this channel for less then a year, and I do not post as often as I would like. But its been growing pretty well this month so its motivating me to get more videos out.
I love silver age comics. The colors and artwork were so much cooler than modern age comics (imo) I can look at these all day and admire and appreciate them. Great score man.
My favourite cover is action 285 I have that issue but the colours and story makes it one of my favourite silver age books I remember selling all my action comics from 320 to 450 in 2008 I regretted that but by 2015 I had bought all of them back I did sell all my jimmy olsens but that was a series I didn't miss
Best I can figure about the extra staples is that someone along the way had their books falling apart preemptively stapled their other books to avoid that in the future.
I am still watching your video (I have to watch it in increments when I can) You mentioned that you may have some duplicates-if you do, and are willing to sell them, please let me know!
I need to sort them out still, I have so much sorting to do. I did sell some comics on whatnot a few days ago so I plan on starting to sell them there a bit more.
@@pop-comics Well, please email me (You can find it in the about page of mine) I also have some duplicates if you want them (I collect mostly Action, not Adventures or Superman from this time period)
I just got some action comics issues today. Mine were lower grade, but still nice to get. Yes you were right pay less for the stapled ones. While it doesn’t bother me too much, I do understand the market would grade those at a 2.0 or so, therefore the value would be less. Still even at a couple of bucks for those, they’d be a pretty good deal.
Yeah I am still happy to have the stapled ones in my collection, but I will eventually want to upgrade them down the road. As long as the price is good I am happy with almost any grade when it comes to old stuff. As long as it not complete torn up or missing things.
Thanks for the upload Sean. As you made clear research is paramount before buying any book or collection. Thank you for the road-trip and thanks for sharing.
Most definitely, you got to double check conditions and whats in a collection before you fully commit to it. And its good to know general values of the issues in the collection so you know ho much you are willing to pay up for it.
@@pop-comics Please have a look at my collection. My last video was made 7 months ago (my last video showcasing Action Comics I mean). Seeing your vid inspired me to do more showcase vids of my own!
So, i was reading an old Lois Lane or Superman silver age comic and the editor actually spelled out how to pronounce Myxyzptlk and it’s “Mix-Yez-Pittle-Ick.”
True for a lot of collectibles the pandemic boosted prices on a lot of things, but not sure I can see they are worthless now. Many still are selling strong.
I was wondering when you were gonna make this video! Great collection, glad we could make a deal. Thanks Sean, enjoy!

Pretty much all Curt Swan covers, but if you have Action #353, that one is by Wayne Boring. Really good video! Thanks.
All beautiful covers too, I really enjoy his linework
This was fun to watch! Superman is the greatest Hero ever, so BIG congrats on this collection!
@@romeusdracul9531 it was a really fun Superman Collection to buy

Jimmy Olsen is a great series to start collecting silver age superman related comics. They are affordable and have lots of fun issues.

Hopefully you will take those comics out of what appears to be old grease
bearing Poly covers and replace them with good dry archival Mylar covers.
I have not done so yet, but yes I need to get them switch to mylites Or at least new poly bags for the near term.

Its been really gorgeous this week, I thought it would be fun to get out and film the city a little. Which I think makes the videos that much nicer.

George Klein inked most of those covers, and gave Swan’s art an elegance.
Very cool to know.
Really enjoyed seeing all these. Sounds like you and the seller are both happy, win- win 👊

Comics are odd they skyrocketed during the pandemic but now are worthless
Cause people were bored and spending either stimulus money or money saved by not commuting.
