    The "Improved Shadows/Highlights Filter" update is in the color tab. In the previous version, the Lighten Shadows/Darken Highlights slider used to start at the far left, now the slider starts at 0 in the middle and you can slide left or right to edit these features.

    As a user I think it fair to buy the Pro version. This will incentivise the developers to do more. If there was a wish list for development users could suggest items for the developers to consider.
    $40 is about 8-12 cups of coffee, less from Starbucks. That’s one a month for a hobby, semi professional or professional.

    Thank you for the heads-up on the update - very helpful. Funny, last week thought I had a senior moment when I noticed the highlights/shadows, contrast, etc. sliders had both a +/- side to them - now how could I have overlooked this all this time? Your video lead me to look - could see my software was auto updated. 😁
    I have the Pro version and always thought the Curves tool was poorly done, i.e. with no inserted graphic representation of your image you have no way to see the tones that are represented in the image - you're just guessing and moving points around. But alas, no improvement to the Curves tool. Thought it odd they did an inserted graphic representation of the image with the Levels tool and not the Curves tool.

      Yeah, I wish PhotoScape X would let you know when they update your software and what is new.

    Nathan, I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but when in the Editor, once you click on an object (Text, Image, etc., etc.,) if you click on the three dots under the associated tab, you will see 'Merge Selected Layers', amongst other options.

    But they didn't add the one feature I wanted most: Crop an Inserted Image.
    This seems so obvious and simple to me -- far more basic than many of the more esoteric features they did bother to code.

    • @BriNathanCollins
      @BriNathanCollins  2 ปีที่แล้ว

    When I do a cutout then insert the cutout image in a photo the background in the cutout is white. How do I make it transparent using Photoscape 4.2.1?

    • @BriNathanCollins
      @BriNathanCollins  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Make sure you’re saving the cut out as a PNG file. When saving click “save as” and make sure to select PNG when saving.

      When you purchase PhotoScape X you’ll either buy it from the Mac App Store for Microsoft App Store. As long as both computers are able to sign into the same App Store with the same account, you’ll be able to have use it on both.

  • @scyllabub
    @scyllabub ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you for the video tutorial - however (1) I don't think you've covered ARROW INSERTS, I'm having trouble successfully selecting styles, and (2) I won't buy until there is at least a short free trial of the Pro version, because some of the features of the free version are absolutely useless - eg, many of the frames are almost completely invisible on my UHD screenshot images. Plus, what stickers are available in the Pro version? Many questions and quibbles from me!

    I am attending an astrophotography class tomorrow in St.louis. We are required to bring a computer with Photoshop, Sequator for stacking, and Lightroom. I asked for permission to bring a laptop with Photoscape Pro. The instructor said okay. We will see how it goes.

    • @BriNathanCollins

      I know adobe sometimes gives 14 day free trials or you could purchase it for one month just so you have it for the class.

  • @phlotographer

    ok, I will view video but my first question is -- where have they hidden the update? A reboot does not do a push update. A link to the actual update page would be most valuable from anyone including the creator. Interestingly, there is a tab for 3.7. Most programs make doing an update quite simple. Even an option in Preferences would be good. TIA

    • @BriNathanCollins
      @BriNathanCollins  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s possible that specific Raw file format has not been added as a supported file type. Unfortunately, PhotoScape X does not get updates very frequently. It might be helpful for you to look into converting the raw file into another more common raw file format if that is possible. I’ll have to do some research on that.
