    Good video but you need to change the battery in your smoke alarm. It’s really annoying.

      Yeah, I didn't notice it before,. It's funny how we can tune things out, I guess I was used to it. Thanks for the feedback!

    So, compared to "Darktable", Photoscape (either version) is a much more basic editor with a flatter learning curve?

    • @PrettyWebzMedia
      @PrettyWebzMedia  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      At first glance, Darktable interface looks very similar to Photoscape. I've never used it so I can't speak to the functionality. Photoscape has a short learning curve as compared to Lightroom but it's the only other photo editing program I have enough experience with to speak to. I'm definitely going to check out Darktable though, it looks interesting.

    I reviewed the photos and gave a rating say 1 star for the selected photos. However I could not open them into "Editor". Any tutorial for this one?

      @@PrettyWebzMedia It was a very minor thing. Some people just have a bad habit of complaining too much. I hope you don't let it bother you. :)

    • @PrettyWebzMedia
      @PrettyWebzMedia  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Photoscape is more like Lightroom that Photoshop. You can add an image over another image but this program is not made for composites

    • @phlotographer
      @phlotographer 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nathan Collins has done a tutorial -- at least one on how to do composites and specifically what brash has asked about.@@PrettyWebzMedia.

    I could not watch this my dog went crazy because of the beep but can you please show how to do the 4 basic things for an Amature, crop, contrast, add text and borders. Please I have tried to add text for 2 hours and cannot figure it out?

    • @PrettyWebzMedia
      @PrettyWebzMedia  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I'm sorry about the sound. I may redo some of the videos with the beep sound in the future. For now, when you're in the editor tab and have your photo placed in the editor, there are four tabs in the bottom left. Select the "object" tab and the letter "T" and the text will appear on the screen along with the text properties window. If you're using Photoscape X you will find the text tool in the upper right corner under the "insert" tab. Click on the letter "T" and the properties menu will come up. Again, I'm sorry the video didn't help. Hopefully, this will.

    • @phlotographer
      @phlotographer 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ok, lets give this a try in case you or someone else may be struggling with text when using PSX -- either free or Pro. Open any image(likely a .jpg) and don't worry about any other editing at this point as the info being presented is only for text.
      You will be in the Edit menu. Look to the RH side and see a tab called Insert. Click on it and a new menu bar will appear with one of the options being Text. Click on that and a new set of options will appear.
      Also, there will be a bounding box used to resize the text on the Image being edited with the ability to X (remove the text) or change the word Text to whatever you desire be it a sentence, a word or numbers.
      Lets call you Charlie and you want to sign your image indicating it is yours as photographer and you own the copyright (at least likely as I have no idea where you reside). So the next thing to do is to change the word Text to Charlie.
      Somethings available, I have not used but might play at some point just to see what they are for so I will concentrate on what I do as I sign all my photos.
      There is a large rectangular box with the work Text in it and that is where you will make your change. Double click to highlight the the word Text in the rectangular box and press Delete. Text will now disappear from that box as well as from the image area.
      Now type in Charlie. Next select the Font you may desire. Most computers will have a wide range of Fonts available but of course you can download from the internet additional Fonts although in 28 years I have never needed anything more. Because I most use a signature I have my default Font called Mistral as that looks like a written signature. I leave opacity at 100% but choose whatever you may like.
      If you signature is what what you like, before doing more, Click on the 3 dots on the far R of the trash ca. When the flyout menu comes up go to the bottom of the menu and choose Save as Template. Now in the future you can go to the very bottom of the flyout menu and select Load Template and your signature will appear. You can save many templates and then simply scroll to what you want to have printed on the image that may repeat to make things easier. I think there may be a limit of somewhat fewer than 1 1/2 dozen.
      A use for this might be if you are a real estate photographer and wish to name various rooms photographed in a home. Create Living Room, Kitchen, MBR etc. and add them to the image. I would recommend a different Font from the Signature however.
      There are many other options available and so just take some time to adjust the text chosen by using different options so that you know what is available. Have fun and if you are concerned about making a mistake and using a useful image, simply before have a ":play" make a copy of the file in the folder from whence it came or create another folder and call it PSX tests or something else and save it in your Pictures location on your computer.
      One thing I just came across is that because I have made viewing the program with larger sized letters etc. I lose some things. However because of bad eyesight I leave this as I don't manipulate text like some folks might.
      Have fun with a very good, useful program which is just fine in the freeware version.
