- This video will show you how by Salvaging Water Damaged Veneer you can give a piece of furniture new life and save it from the landfill! Watch this short video to see how easy it is to straighten the water damage right out of the veneer.
I will add a link to take you to the video of the finished piece once its done.
Here's the link! • Bondo to the Rescue - ...
Tightbond II, water bottle, a carpenters syringe, scrap wood and some clamps are the only supplies needed to salvage water damaged veneer!

Thanks for your experience and resources and sharing your project and the process methods and materials you use to complete your out standing work. God-bless.
I found a nice heavy wood cabinet with some table top warping. This will come in handy!
To help prevent your scrap piece from sticking to the repair, you have some other options as well.
1. Use wax paper between the repair and your scrap clamping board.
2. Keep some scrap melamine for projects like this. The glue will not stick to the melamine, and you won't need the wax paper.
Hope this helps.
Just coming back to say..... IT WORKED!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!! THANK-YOU!!!!! ❤😊
Thanks, good info. Now I'm not afraid to try this!
Hey wanted to watch h the vjdeo...but tbh the audio needs adjustments. When you're talking it's too low then I turn it up and then the music comes on when your not talking and it's way too loud. I have to keep adjusting my volume. So no disrespect.. just wanted to let you know for future videos. 😉
Hello, thanks for the feed back. I’m still trying to learn all the features of iMovie and tricks of editing. Definitely an art to it! I’m not sure if i can edit the video once it’s uploaded to you tube but I’ll give it a shot, I didn’t spend the time making the video to not have anymore hear it clearly !
@@girl-reinventing absolutely. My husband has done some videos but he does the audio afterwards and then puts it in. I hope you can work it out...I'll be watching for more videos. Good luck 👍 😊
I just turned the volume down and followed the transciption at the bottom of the video description area. The transcription was helpful to go back and re-read the instructions as needed.
Just what I was looking for!!!! Thank you!!!!
I got my supplies tonight, my glue, my clamps, my spray bottle, and some paint sticks. Going to give it a shot tomorrow.
You’ve got this! If paint sticks are too thick try toothpicks to push the glue down further. Good luck!
Thank you sooo much, I found and old dresser my mothers had stored in the basement, she's passed and i wanted to restore it and use it but the one drawer has this kind of damage and had no clue how to fix it now i do thank you this dresser is at least 80 years old or more
I have a whole bedroom set of that waterfall style... my great grandma bought it about 1925. It's in almost perfect shape.
I bet it’s beautiful! I was just so thrilled to find that inlay. The rest was is such bad shape that it could only be painted. Thanks for the comment :) ❤️
@@girl-reinventingEven tho mine is in good shape, it has no inlays and the wood is not interesting at all.I think it wasn't the deluxe version. However, if Grandma were here I think she wouldn't mind if i painted it and used some decoupage on it. She was an adventurous girl. I remember her taaking me to Pismo beach when i was a girl and dancing on the beach in a seaweed hula skirt. 😍😁
Love this! Great memories.
You may have a valuable piece there
Well I certainly valued the craftsmanship, it was really fun to find all that beautiful wood under ages of yuk. It went off to live on in someone else’s home. I actually have another similar piece waiting in my basement for me ( and motivation! )
Nice, but ditch the music. Can't hear everything you say.
Carpenter syringe looks like a horse deworming tube to me 😅.
I have a lovely old chest that has merely one piece of veneer only lightly warped.
What you're tackling here is impressive to me! I would have never thought that piece fixable. Amazing! ❤
Can’t wait to see the finished piece
Me too!!
I would really appreciate guidance on my kitchen cabinet which has just a little of water damage , if can be repaired instead of just replace , I could send you some images thanks !!!
Hi Silvana, I didn't see your comment until tonight. Hope your fix went well!
Thank you for the video! What is in the spray bottle with the water? It sounded like you said water mixed with something.
Hello! Just water in the bottle :)
I like the way you think
What type of nail gun did you use and are the carpenter glue syringe reusable?
Glue syringe is reusable for a few times then if you don’t wash it out it gets gunked up, comes in a 3 pack. DeWalt 18 GA Brad nailer. Probably overkill for my smaller furniture projects like this one but it’s what we’ve got!
Difficult to hear the voice because the music is too loud in between, but good repair.
Thanks for the input, I agree, music is an issue with this one, all a leaning experience :)
Definitely - ended up turning the sound off completely and just watched on mute.
Hi Lee, I would have done the same thing. I agree.. my sound in this one is terrible, definitely one to learn from. Hope the rest was helpful.
@@girl-reinventing No worries. It was informative enough even with the sound off. :)
This a good example on who not to put loud music in your videos
The music is much louder than your instruction, I had to turn the sound up and down constantly. This may be why you don't have many subscribers.
Yes I agree, hopefully my more recent videos are more enjoyable for you to watch. Figuring out the audio was a challenging.
I had trouble watching this. Audio is all over the place. See if you can work on that and then repost and for sure I'll be viewing.
You explained very well 👍
Great, informative vids..... What is up with the music!?!? I'm here to LEARN but I find myself
distracted adjusting the volume up and down trying to catch your talking while keeping the music toned down. Argh!!!
Hi 👋 yes the music in that one is terrible.. I was trying to learn myself how to edit and make these videos. Thanks for the input.
Audio SUCKS! Makes video unwatchable! Maybe just ditch the funky music all together. It just makes the whole thing very annoying. Thanks
I’m going to offer constructive criticism so hopefully it will be received as such. Do not want to see anyone offering good information not do well.
Maybe I’m just cranky and impatient today, but your intro slow and rambling, then when you did get going…That music. No. Just…why? Just demonstrate and explain in your own capable way and it’s fine. The music really detracted and was annoying. What is the deal with people playing music in a diy video? The only time it feels appropriate response there is a time-lapse kind of thing and sped-up action is accompanied by music but even then it’s not a bad thing to just let us focus quietly on the actions.
OK I’m sorry that turned into a rant!
