"If you were alive in the late 1990s". This statement terrified me. Thinking of how there are some children and young adults watching this who WEREN'T born yet really hammers home my own mortality. I'm 36. I'm not old. At least, I certainly don't feel it. My 30s have gone so fast compared to my 20s though.
I have 21 now and even if you add 50% of my life on that, that would not made me begin born in 1990.. Was trying to make this sound reasonable for like 5 minutes and could not make it sound rigrt... hope you old people ;D dont mind it english is not my main lenguage...
The Yahtzee set makes me wish I'd snapped pics of my friend's mom's set of playing cards! She used to sit at the kitchen table playing solitaire with them (yes, in real life, not on a computer/phone) and some of them could barely be read anymore. I sat at the table and got a few games of rummy with her and her daughter to break up the monotony for her and saw a couple of cards that you could see straight through in spots! So the next time I went to the store, I grabbed her 2 new decks and dropped them off to her daughter at work so she could take them home to her. Apparently she was very happy and touched that someone went out of their way to get them for her. She was a great lady. 💜
0:35 - I'm with Mark Twain. He said, "Golf is a good walk, spoiled." Thanks for another one of these videos! They make me think... which may or may not be a good thing! 😉
I've worked in Plumbing for a few years now, and Yes, You are Correct. The shiny, outer-most part is a Chrome or Nickel plating, under that is a Copper plating layer, then the part itself is made of Brass. It's pretty typical for most sink, tub, and shower drains.
I understand the chrome layer for appearances, but what is the copper plating for? This is the question I wanted to ask, but I actually have a theory myself after some research. Copper is used for electroplating, so my guess is that is why it is applied to electroplate the chrome/nickel. Apparently, brass with 70% copper only has 28% of the conductance of pure copper.
I love how this video illustrates the significance of the passage of time, because while we all know that there’s significance to the passage of time, what’s not always readily apparent is that there is significance to the passage of time.
Amazing video as always! about the maple syrup crystalyzation, i actually have a bowl of maple syrup in my fridge turning into a bowl of crystals right now! It usually takes about six months for a bowl to completely cystalize, but the result is delicious. I have been making them for over 5 years! Crystal maple syrup is probably of the best snacks i ever eat, and all the more since it takes so long to make.
21:20 I had the same issue with supermarket biodegradable bags. I use those bags for garbage but I forgot 2 bags in a room for years. When I found them eventually they were so torn I initially though it was the work of rats, so I started spraying rat poison everywhere. But there were no excrements or visual proof of rat infestation so I searched online and I’ve found that it was the process of bio degradation. It’s amazing the power of time.
You are right about the sink materials. The inner layer is brass(a copper-zinc alloy), as it is easy to work with and has great strength and ductility. It was then coated with copper to allow for easier electroplating, that is used to apply the chrome/nickel. The chrome/nickel is of course just for the shiny silver finish.
5:06 that is actually a power duster. It spins on an drill-like corded gun. You're seeing a changeable duster tip that has been worn out. It probably only took a year to do that seeing as they should be replaced frequently.
Be Amazed's father: "I've used this shovel for 50 years! Sure, I've replaced the handle and the blade multiple times, but yeah, it's totally the same shovel!"
I remember being a kid and seeing my aunt Nina chipping Rick candy out of a jar and throw it away. Apparently, they were all sick of the maple rock candy because they always made more syrup than they could give away. Honestly, to this day, I hate real maple syrup because I had it so much as a kid. I also hate rock candy because of the crystalized syrup I ate as a kid. Yeah, I'm a diabetic....
I cut firewood for work and it never fails to amaze me the things trees will swallow with no exterior signs only to be found with the chainsaw or splitter. I don't think the chain or splitter agrees though.
In my school, there is a blue (I don't know what it clearly is) over the floor to go to the bathroom. For many years students and teachers have walked over it so much so that where people walk the most a pink path has appeared over the blue connecting the hall door to the bathroom door.
Yeah, the power of time shouldn't ever be underestimated on to every item/thing. Awesome video, 10/10. 👍😁 Honestly surprised that some can really last long.
@@scottrocks1993 true. The one thing that seems almost indestructible are diamonds 💎. They're atomically perfect 👌 and can be used in many industrial applications not just in jewelry. Their potential is incredible and nothing fascinates me more than diamonds 💎.
Myself and my husband bought identical pillows when we bought our new mattress several years ago. His looks like the black dirty disgusting one shown in this video while mine has only yellowed slightly. The reason for this is twofold. 1. He just naturally sweats more and 2. He helps his dad with projects outside in the dust, things like woodwork and mechanics and such. 😊
Trees are weird. On my sister's property, an Oak tree and a Pine tree grew up side-by-side, their trunks actually merging together. Both trees are healthy. On my property (the family property since 1964), an Oak tree grew up through the livestock wire fence, rooted on one side, going through the wire then growing straight up the other side. A huge Liveoak tree was about six inches around when my sister tied her nylon horse lead around the trunk. Now decades later, the trunk has more than doubled in diameter, the nylon loop deep inside and now several feet higher. Weird, eh? 😎
Thankyou for the longer video's Be amazed. Really enjoy them! You really funny and make my brother and I laugh. You always make our day! We've learnt so much from you! Thankyou again.
I have looked up acid rain erosion on stone structures before and the increasing acidity of the rain with air pollution has taken its toll on the gravestone and corroded the engravings off of it.
On the topic of latex animatronics, a possible future topic here could be the costumes from Showa-era Godzilla movies. The only original suit from the 1954-1975 era of films and one TV show that still exists in a state where it still resembles how it looked on screen, if it even still exists at all, is Mechagodzilla, the only one not made of latex.
Didnt even know copper tobacco pipes were a thing! I enjoy a pipe every blue moon, but mine is a "normal" briar wood pipe. I imagine a copper pipe would be uncomfortably hot to hold on to in between puffs due to the conductivity
Have you ever had a food so cute\beautiful you don't want to eat it? yea a week ago i had a halloween ghost themed doughnut with crystal frostings and I didn't want to eat it, eventually i decided to eat it but the doughnut clearly wanted to be eaten earlier and didn't the cream inside just make a mess but when I attempted to throw it in the trash a piece of cream seemingly possessed by the devil hopped off my fork, dodged the trash can, and landed on the floor. this is why you don't let food survive for more than a day in the spooky month

Huh...never thought of doing that before, interesting.
the same happens with golden syrup, not sure how long it takes though
