Though, some ones I’ve been in have ones in normal places like near the handbrake or ones that extend from the dashboard. Never seen anything like that monstrosity though.

The drink isn't in a cup holder, that spot is a compartment for gloves or paper, the cup holders are on the centre console between the seats, The car is a Citreon Berlingo.
