  • @Mmmfdhb11
    @Mmmfdhb11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    of course CA does not have an effect on the final soap pH! The soap is chemically alkaline so if you add some acid this will get neutralized and the pH overall with not change! It simply works like a buffer. Its nature is to be alkaline so if you wanna ''change'' the pH, you will have a completely different substance and not soap. It's chemistry.

    My cp soap is always 7, 8 or 9
    I use soapcalc to formulate recipes.
    I’m wanting to know what I can do to bring the pH down to 5.5 for a facial bar.
    Do you have a video tutorial on this topic?
    Thank you for your instruction videos, you do a fantastic job!

    • @diablominero
      @diablominero 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you add too much acid to your soap, you'll turn it back into fat. If you need a cleanser with a pH of 5.5, your best bet is probably some sort of detergent like sodium cocoyl isethionate

  • @abeil21

    Using citric acid at 1% worked for me. It lowered the pH from 8 to 7. However I did not add it to the lye solution it was added after trace. Idk if this helps.

    hi ! Thank you so much for the video. One said "distilled water". We're the others made with tap water? sorry, I didn't understand , I thought they were all made with distilled water.or was it just distilled water with no soap mixed it.

    • @SueandSoap
      @SueandSoap  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, normally you use distilled water. I said it just in case somebody thinks you can use tap water for soap making. You should always use distilled water.
