Some roles are just so popular and unforgettable that the actor just can't get away from it and it can be very difficult to move on. Pee Wee Herman, Steve Erkel, Ernest P Worrell, Kevin Mcallister, Screech Powers to name a few. Then there are actors who are very versatile in the roles that they play until they play something very dark or disturbing so well that you can't get that out of your head. Like Anthony Hopkins, I will always see Hannible Lecter. Arnold Schwarzenegger will always be the Terminator. Christoph Waltz as Colonel Hans Landa. Christian Bale as Patrick Bateman and so on. Rest in Peace Paul. You were kind of like the SpongeBob SquarePants of the 80's to me.
Why do people bash someone who's dead? He never did sit down interviews? He was on Late night with David Letterman a bunch of times before he became a star, he was on Conan many times too. He was on Arsenio too. (why bring up his arrest, smh) I doubt his friends said he "wanted out" of being Pee Wee. Pee Wee was his bread & butter, plus Paul was in other movies as other characters. Long Live Pee Wee he brought joy to many! R.I.P. Paul Reubens.
Pee Wee's Big Adventure was no doubt one of the biggest cult classic movies from the 80's. He was good in the older Cheech and Chong movies and later in Blow. But Pee Wee's Big Adventure was his peak.

I respect the flood of compliments for our dear PeeWee, but l sure wish the compliments came in as strong while he was alive. Reflecting on his unique fashion of acceptance for others should have been reciprocated and his career springboarded from the ever stirred up PeeWeePorn Adventure. He was so much more than a personal act that everyone has done, minus the children's show ball and chain that hiccupped this man's career. How genius to step up so quickly on stage to ask, "has anyone heard any good jokes lately?" I loved him even more that night. Tequila!! Cheers Mr. PeeWee ❤️
I’m an 80’s kid and grew up watching pee wees playhouse and loved pee wees big adventure. Later as an older teen young adult I found his adult comedy such as his roles in cheech n Chong movies the guys a trip !
Thinking about it Paul Reubens did what all the great comedians did in the past. He created a character and stayed with that character. Charlie Chaplin created the Tramp and the two essentially became one and the same despite being very different. The same with the Marx Brothers, Abbot and Costello, and any number of classic comedians.
Not gonna lie I’m a 42 year old man started crying when I found out he died. My girlfriend was asking me why I was Crying and very embarrassed To tell her why.

No, we don't need a new Pee Wee Herman. I hate it whenever that sh!t happens. Let the character die with the actor. Anyone new playing the character would just seem like a cheap knock-off and just ruin it.
I watched Pee-Wee as a kid- and every character in the show gave me nightmares. One where that cow in that dress multiplied and they were all coming at me walking. In the closet we’re two buttons. If I pressed one I would experience unimaginable pleasure, but it felt wrong so I don’t remember but I know I tried not to press it. Very creepy and looking back at the show- reminds me how many characters actually were in my nightmares as a child. As an adult I love pee-wee
His career, and his arrest shows he is just human. Every role model has a skeleton in their past or things that happen, so his show should not have been canceled.

Paul was a super genius, never we will have such a talent, From Hamburger dude, to pee wee. GOD BLESS this brilliant man,😇😇😇
I was a teen in the 80s, not a child. And I always loved Pee Wee Herman. Still do. Rest in peace Paul. So what if he went to an adult theater, I doubt he had women flocking to him.
@@sophiamarquis I love how you assume I'm American. I love how bothered you get by my use of the word love. I love the name Sophia, it reminds me of a girl in secondary school whose butt I loved.
@@sophiamarquis I loved her butt...not their butt. Maybe you don't understand what love is. Many things can be loved. It doesn't have to be reserved only for special occasions.
RIP Paul Reubens Way Too Soon.
Pee wee has went on his big adventure, r.i.p. pee wee
Pee wee Herman a legend that this poor generation will never have the opportunity to have these great and fond memories of having pee wee in your childhood 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
As completely immersed into character as Pee Wee was..and best known only as Pee Wee..he was easily accepted as Paul too….friendly lovable person
❤ him !!!! Grew up with his shows and movies 👏👏 RIP
Lets not forget how well of a job he did doing the voice for the ships droid in the movie "Flight Of The Navigator" a lot of Pee-wee's character totally comes through the droid character.
Yessssss!! I just watched this with my teenage son again a few months back. Still love that movie!
He was known as a funny unique character in his own special way RIP Paul Reuben.
His community of people protect those in the tribe. Hollywood knew who he was but they could not fully endorse him into stardom! He has his dark side like most of us do!
I remember the first time I ever saw Pee Wee Herman was in Cheech and Chong's next movie, where he played the overly rude hotel manager.
He also did a stint as tucker cobblepot in batman returns. Lotta people dont remember that.
So Peewee Herman played the Penguin's father?
That's interesting because I didn't recognize him when I saw that movie for the first time.
ah yes. the only man in the history of the world to get in trouble for whacking it in a place where everybody whacks it.
It’s like, what did they expect him to do there? Read the Bible???
I think Paul Reubens could’ve played a good Riddler
Saturday mornings in the 80s wouldn’t have been the same without Pee Wee, RIP Paul
I wish this would have touched more on his other acting rolls. He did do other work outside of the Pee Wee character.
Watching the show as an adult was my ‘dirty little secret’. I recorded the shows on VHS tapes and watched them when I needed cheered up. 📼
I never could go into work and say “Did you see what Pee Wee did on his show?” 😃
He’s riding his bicycle in the sky now. 🚴
May his memory be a blessing 🙌 🙏.
Rest in Peace Paul Reubens, you were a huge part of my childhood
I'm not saying that you should villify him for it now but he did leave at Paul's arrest for child Pornography.
@@billsloan I know but he made up for his mistake
RIP Paul Reubens ❤you were, you are and you ALWAYS WILL BE a beautiful and inspiring man!!! XoxoxoX
He was in the movie "Blow" with Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz. He did a good job.
Pee Wee Paul was a very attractive and exquisitely hilarious gay man. I loved his work. He died on my birthday. He sure had a great life 😊
:) rip paul voice and play actor for pee wee 🤧👍🏽
I respect the flood of compliments for our dear PeeWee, but l sure wish the compliments came in as strong while he was alive. Reflecting on his unique fashion of acceptance for others should have been reciprocated and his career springboarded from the ever stirred up PeeWeePorn Adventure. He was so much more than a personal act that everyone has done, minus the children's show ball and chain that hiccupped this man's career. How genius to step up so quickly on stage to ask, "has anyone heard any good jokes lately?" I loved him even more that night. Tequila!! Cheers Mr. PeeWee ❤️
Well now hes got heaven broken up
In laughter...What a wonderful human...shall be missed greatly.
I was born in 1988. Grew up with many of his antics.
I’m an 80’s kid and grew up watching pee wees playhouse and loved pee wees big adventure. Later as an older teen young adult I found his adult comedy such as his roles in cheech n Chong movies the guys a trip !
A good old comedian, I'll never forget watching him on a Saturday morning.
Yooooooo didn't know until now he voiced the navigator on the OG Star Tours.
Not gonna lie I’m a 42 year old man started crying when I found out he died. My girlfriend was asking me why I was Crying and very embarrassed To tell her why.
You have every right to mourn the loss of this legendary artist.
I'm not saying that you should villify him for it now but he did leave at Paul's arrest for child Pornography.
I'm 40 and remember watching Pee Wee's Playhouse as a real little kid. I was very saddened when I heard Pee Wee died. :( I think everyone in our age group is sad.
R.i.p. paul you suffered I. Your sickness here in this world but I'm sure your flying high with all the other angels lie yourself 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
I grew up watching pee-wee's playhouse. R. I. P. Paul Rubens He will always be one of my favourite finny actors.
Rest in Peace to Paul Reubens. Sound like he lived quite a fulfilling life.
Well I always liked Paul Reuben until I just found out he was going on gay dates on a kid show never saw that one must have missed that season thank God
My mom used to use super glue on her hands cuz they would get dry and crack. RIP to both 😢❤🙏
Be well, Paul...wherever you went, I hope we get to see you somewhere down the road. 😢❤🎉
Pee Wee was the dad we all wish we had. Instead we got alcoholics. 99%of 90s dad's were drunks.
RIP Greatest legend
A museum of television should be built in his name. Paul Ruebens National Museum of Television
RIP Paul Rubens my favorite nerd.
I was an extra in “Big Top Pee Wee” & saw for myself what a true professional he was .👌🏻
Hey Grunge! You BLOW
Holly S is that Laurance Fishborn that played the cowboy in Playhouse? I never knew that lmfao!!!
I remember watching him host that game show You Don't Know Jack. He was very quick-witted.
I enjoyed his performance in 'Reno911: Miami'. It's short but fabulous!
He was mentored by Phil Hartman whom him started his career from 1977 and 1980 was turned down for host Saturday Night Live and 1981 and 1985and 1988 his 2 movies came out and show 1986-1990 and toys and memrobilia was popular.
God Bless You Always and may you rest in peace 🙏 ❤😂😅😊❤
Jim Parsons would be a great Pew Wee Herman.
This is my opinion but I think Tom Hiddleston (the actor that plays loki in the MCU) would play a really good Pee Wee as well.
I watched him in the 90s I wasn’t alive in the 80s
RIP Paul R. 🙏
His career, and his arrest shows he is just human. Every role model has a skeleton in their past or things that happen, so his show should not have been canceled.
Phil Hartman rarely (if ever) gets mentioned as far as his contribution as to the creation of Pee Wee Herman..do your homework! Check it out!
Pee wee , was left handed, liked to share spunk with other movie goers.had a great career. Greatest kid show, ever . Sleep sweetly, pee wee. Now you can ride your bike forever.
My sisters and I love pee wee!!! We always watched pee wees big adventure and playhouse ❤❤
I loved him in blow rip Paul you won't be forgotten
This one hit me as well. People from my childhood are so difficult. Like bob Saget was another
R.I.P sad he passed at only 70 but what an awesome 70 years.
He was a regular at the magic castle in Hollywood… gonna miss that gentle soul.
I was an adult in my 20's when Pee Wee hit the big stage but, the loss of Paul is a little bit of a loss of my young adulthood.
