It's so typical of wrestling in this era. WWE probably knew the wheels were coming off of Adam Cole's wagon and wanted to keep him working by having him manage (probably in the same way that they wanted to protect Orton by putting him in a tag-team until it became apparent he needed to leave for surgery), but Adam took advantage of the existence of an opposing company and got himself hired by them even though it's obvious that his body has broken down.

So Cole gets injured on 20th September and the Devil Debuts on the 27th but they still go ahead with the angle that will reveal their new big bad is a guy that they know can’t wrestle or take a bump for the next 6 - 9 months. This makes no sense to me.

This entire show was putrid garbage. Aew finally had me interested believe it or not during the continental classic. The matches were insane. I expected more crazy matches. What i got instead,was a fart in a jar. As fast as i became a fan,i now am a aew hater based on this ppv only. It's very unlikely i will ever watch this again.
MJF turned out to be the biggest mark of all. Hes been talking about the bidding war of '24. Its January 2024. Hes injured, he lost the gimmick that people knew him as, he main evented the biggest popcorn fart in the industry. I don't think anyone had the guy's back in terms of protecting his future
They also turned him from one of the most conniving, planning ahead, win by any means necessary heels of all time to one of the most easily fooled babyfaces of all time in a matter of months, assassinating his established gimmick he's had since he started in the business.
I imagine a AEW themed restaurant coming soon. All the food items on menu will have same name but made differently weekly from a hodgepodge of idea and items from Tony Khan’s booking/recipe notebooks from his teenage fantasy promotional creativity.
The only thing that could work out of this is that fact that they made those three comedy characters. They need to do a serious promo and tell everyone gloves off and no more ganes kind of promo. Not loud or fired up just low voices, calm and direct. Then have a march where they just beat people like not a squash but a flat out they counter everything and just beat them with out question. You don't need a squash match for that. you can have a counter wrestling match where one guy always wins and it will looks competitive but the now devils heals look solid and dangerous. Granted this is AEW so you are not going to get this at all.

I was happy Samoa Joe won, but at the same time, it was a complete letdown. Joe tapped out MJF, and everyone just stood there not sure if that was the result. Joe was announced the winner and just walked off with the belt. He got no fanfare or anything. They completely made his win feel like an afterthought so he could push forward with the most predictable reveal of all time. Atom Smol being the Devil to me was pretty much obvious from day one, but at the same time, I guess who else could it have been? Jack Perry would have gotten too much backlash and if it was Tony himself he would have been laughed out of the building. I just feel bad because Wardlow is involved and he looks completely miserable already. He knows this is going to go nowhere.
You could see people walking to the exits when Adam Cole was giving his reveal. The finish deflated the room and most people, seemingly, didn't actually care who the devil was.
One of my favorite stupid things about this whole reveal was Cole sitting there with all the devil’s guys, but then he pulled out the devil’s mask as if that was necessary.

And that's the tragedy. The face turn itself was pretty good. I liked the long turn. He's better as a heel, but the man has enough charisma to work babyface if he needs to. However, I feel like nobody asked "what do we do after this?" when it came to his actual run as a babyface.

MJF losing the title in a sleeper killed the crowd and the match sucked. Then the lame Adam Cole Devil reveal killed the crowd either more. It was crap and it reeked of WCW 2000. Adam Cole and his stable of jobbers is pathetic and he is hurt and so is MJF so this angle is already Cold as Ice. Worlds End ppv Sucked as a whole.

This entire show was putrid garbage. Aew finally had me interested believe it or not during the continental classic. The matches were insane. I expected more crazy matches. What i got instead,was a fart in a jar. As fast as i became a fan,i now am a aew hater based on this ppv only. It's very unlikely i will ever watch this again.

MJF turned out to be the biggest mark of all. Hes been talking about the bidding war of '24. Its January 2024. Hes injured, he lost the gimmick that people knew him as, he main evented the biggest popcorn fart in the industry. I don't think anyone had the guy's back in terms of protecting his future

The only thing that could work out of this is that fact that they made those three comedy characters. They need to do a serious promo and tell everyone gloves off and no more ganes kind of promo. Not loud or fired up just low voices, calm and direct. Then have a march where they just beat people like not a squash but a flat out they counter everything and just beat them with out question. You don't need a squash match for that. you can have a counter wrestling match where one guy always wins and it will looks competitive but the now devils heals look solid and dangerous. Granted this is AEW so you are not going to get this at all.

I was happy Samoa Joe won, but at the same time, it was a complete letdown. Joe tapped out MJF, and everyone just stood there not sure if that was the result. Joe was announced the winner and just walked off with the belt. He got no fanfare or anything. They completely made his win feel like an afterthought so he could push forward with the most predictable reveal of all time. Atom Smol being the Devil to me was pretty much obvious from day one, but at the same time, I guess who else could it have been? Jack Perry would have gotten too much backlash and if it was Tony himself he would have been laughed out of the building. I just feel bad because Wardlow is involved and he looks completely miserable already. He knows this is going to go nowhere.
You could see people walking to the exits when Adam Cole was giving his reveal. The finish deflated the room and most people, seemingly, didn't actually care who the devil was.

One of my favorite stupid things about this whole reveal was Cole sitting there with all the devil’s guys, but then he pulled out the devil’s mask as if that was necessary.

The whole thing was predictable, unimaginative and typical of AEW. Tony Khan or anyone in AEW doesn’t know how to tell a story that lasts more than one match.

And as soon as young talent rears its head they get buried by Dwayne, Taker or Brock.
They do have a few angles to do with Cody and Punk after the current fueds, but some of them have to include putting people like Breaker and Carmello over strong. They're supposed to be the next guys.
