Noel Gallagher GOAT🎸🎸🎸🎸 Funny but my auntie who is 20 years older than me moved from Yorkshire to London maybe 40 years ago. She lives in Chelsea and really is a "Southerner" now. She knows her music but doesn't have much to say about Oasis in my opinion because of the good old North/South divide in England. She thinks Oasis are just Northern Yobs, she's wrong obviously but I think Oasis would have even more respect in this Country if the Southern shandy drinkers would take the blinkers off and admit just how good Oasis were. Sorry to go on a bit.
You're very wrong about southerners not liking oasis, I grew up with them when they were at their heigjt in 90s and every single kid I knew loved oasis. We used to go watch them regularly from about 15/16 onwards. I don't know any Southerners of my generation who doesn't like them, the older generation like my dad aren't too keen.
Yep...... practicing in the little rented storage rooms where all the neighborhood kids would start their bands....Put this on the back burner for a while til it was perfecto🤌
in the early 2000's the chorus of this tune was featured with every single AT&T/Cingular commercial in 🇺🇸. it literally was like 2 seconds of the song but I remember it vividly.
I remember when this first came out, I would of been 10 maybe younger a naighbur passed away, my mother ran across the street to tell the other naighbur... my eldest brother(major oasis fan), blasted this from his radio... ALL AROUND THE WORLD... YOU GOTTA SPREAD THE WORD. My mam was absolutely mortified 🤣🤣🤣 she checked herself after that 🤣🤣🤣
This is from Be Here Now which came out in 1997. The album is the sound of the brothers Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory royalties coming in. It’s the sound of Noel’s cocaine lifestyle put to record with its over produced songs with multi layers of guitar parts. Every song is filled to the brim with overdubs, the sound of their success coming to the fore. Some fantastic songs on the album but it’s not without its faults. Great album cover as well.
Long overdue, love this vid ( very yellow submarine) and song, takes me back to my teen years. Great reaction. The rumour at the time was that oasis wanted a no 1 song that was longer than hey jude and this was it, I don't know if there is any truth to that or not.
Yes! Love this one too. Hope you're both well. I'm catching up ( been poorly in hospital for while). Getting older really sucks. Off to watch the others of yours now.✌
When I found out in '96 (from the NME or some other British musical shitrag) that this album was coming out, I pre-ordered it - which involved actual writing in those days. Some months later, it was released and, like apparently everyone, I queued (lined?) around the corner to buy a copy at my local Tower Records or HMV or whatever it was - because I'd forgotten that I'd pre-ordered it, naturally (I suffered from occasional bouts of memory loss in my mid-20s). So suddenly this semi-lush had two copies of the album: one on tape and one on CD. But did I care? Did I f... 😆
Dave has to react to Noel's hilarious DVD commentary where he talks over/about their old videos, it's especially funny when he talks about this one. It's on youtube.
Should have done the g.mex live version its loads better. Noels vision was that he'd wrote a classic and was waiting until he could get a full orchestra on the song so he saved it from no record deal too the 3rd album.
This was written way back in the early days. I love the acoustic/live versions but the album version is just too-damn-long for me . 🙂 Still love it ! - you need more Oasis B-sides in your life. 😛
Never heard this cut. Psychedelic for sure. Liked the fuzzier guitar part toward the end. Here's one for Dave to check that has a little bit of everything. It's a 70s esque Boston/Foreigner track in the beginning and then morphs into a proggy synth solo and and then a groovy intricate guitar part at the end. It's unsung Rock band, Roadmaster and this cut is Sweet Music th-cam.com/video/mXTfyMsYr5Y/w-d-xo.html
I really like this song as mad as it is, I think It was the first song noel wrote for oasis. I think they did the right thing in waiting to put it on the 3rd album with all the production. Bit too long though imo 9 minutes the album version is a bit too much.
In English i can't say what I want say..... Rock Analytik Team Dave and team( specially his wife).... music professore, what I can say is......awesome Peace and love from Austria to upper state New York

@Stevenknight1198
Just a bit of light sarcasm on my part no offence intended. Anyway got to get mi clogs on and take mi whippet for a walk😀
Still to this day the longest song to reach number 1 in the UK
I just fucking love that song.
You really need to do the LIVE version of this at the GMEX. The guitrar solo at the end is simply stunning. The song live is immense.
There is footage of them singing this years before they were famous, one of noels first songs he ever wrote.
1992!

That album was great. You need to check out the title track "Be Here Now" at GMEX 1997. Wicked show.

Love this album, i couldn't careless if its too long, over produced, its a belta.

This is the first song where my 1950 born Dad said, “Wow, they look just like The Beatles!”
Do the live version at Gmex 97, it is so good
And Watch it now....Everyone secretly loved "Sowing the Seeds of Love".... Lol
should of been live version imx gig? Forget the name but shulda been live version
Oasis at their most over indulgent, fans either love it or hate it, personally I love it
I always thought the video was a knod to Yellow Submarine, long and great track.
he should do the bsides to this called The Fame or Flashbax
Love Flashbax

👌i hope I think I know
Has Dave reacted to...Married with Children? off Definitely Maybe. I think it'd be a nice change of pace.

@@samechick Excellent! Thanks
I can see why Liam and Noel said that they hated doing music videos lol 😂
You guys should check out another excellent manchester band called "doves"
could you do the she's electric music video too? Very psychedelic.

React to GMEX version
Not ripping off the Beatles at all

Good tune, Noel kept it back for a few years like you said. Just suffers the fate of being a bit too long, like the album it sits on.
Their 1992 rehearsal version is better. Written before their debut album, but not recorded/released until album No.3
About 3 minutes too long, otherwise this song could have been timeless.
