The Electrician said not to worry about it, but I got out the detector and found the screw in under 30 seconds! Fun and practical. I can't wait to do some more relic hunting here on our farm...

Took my new Sand Shark to Bradenton Fl. this past week and loved it. I only was able to use it 4 hours out of a week but it performed well. It was easy to get going, no problems with the settings and got a couple dollars in clad. The beach was very clean. I was prepared to have a truckload of trash. I got bobby pins, sunglasses, and metal such as fish hooks, but mostly coins. It was too heavy for me I am used to the AT Pro but with it's convienent hip mount, the stick was light as a feather. I loved it and I am glad I got it and it is mostly due to your video. I searched for months and You helped me decide. Had a great time and look forward to many more years of beach and water hunting with this machine. Thanks She Detector.

The last time I was there I got a good strong signal on my detector, when the tide creeper out away from me....It was indicating silver/gold range. I had to abruptly leave...UGH!.....It has made me wonder what it was all these years, figuring it was only my first visit to Florida! You make me want to go back and find out what's really in that sand!!!!...Peace to your and yours and GOD bless!

Nice outing. Hint: you can wash the ball cap in the top rack of your dishwasher. Clean all the sand out then wash with a load of dishes. Does a good job. Enjoyed your video, thanks for sharing. GL&HH

Clinton Kaae Tell me about it. I found out this past year I have trouble getting back up after a few times getting down to dig holes,getting older sucks. I am far from over weight. I used to marathon hunt all day on a saturday,not any more! My body is lucky to let me go for an hour. lol. I miss summer!

A big tip ... before you unload the scoop with the possible target inside, check the hole first, if no beep just get the scoop in the water and it will sift in no time :) well ... im used in doing that lol GL & HH
Right you are. I sometimes do that. Not all the time because I'm worried if it's a small target, it will sift right out and now it's in the water :( But it's a great technique for sure! :D

Until then, I like your style of tidying up the environment! Tesoro Sand Shark looks interesting...how would you compare it to the Sea Hunter? About the same, better? I sure hope so! That would be amazing! Hehehe. Well thank you. I don't like leaving the junk out there. I worry about the animals eating it or getting hurt by it. :( It's a great machine! It think in regards to seeing the target, it's pretty much equal to the Sea Hunter. BUT! In regards to target recovery, the Sand Shark wipes the floor with the Sea Hunter. The coil on the Sand Shark puts the target in a 4 inch circle. Super easy to retrieve it. BUT! Also, the Sand Shark doesn't have discrimination, the Sea Hunter does. Do, they both have their strengths and weaknesses, like all machines. If I had to pick only one, I think I would have to go with the Sand Shark just because of the quick target recovery. You save time which allows you to dig more targets. Well thank you! I'm glad you like them either way. :D Hehehe. Happy new year to you as well! Thanks!

How do you compare the sand shark to your sea hunter now. Is it any at sound discrimination or are you still digging it all and getting more money for your efforts. I am still trying to decide what my next machine will be. But I am leaning toward the sand shark, any chance you can do another hunt with it in a park or school ground? GL&HH
Happy new year to you as well! Thank you! Oh yes, I'd be crazy not too! Hahaha. Well since the sand shark doesn't have any discrim, you have to dig everything. I know I say that about the Sea Hunter too but it has discrim. I just never use it. :) I wouldn't say I'm getting more for my efforts by digging everything but I also hunt the same beaches. Maybe if I hit lots of beaches, it would pay off more. I don't think I would use the sand shark at a park or school ground actually. Since there is no discrim, you would be digging every tiny bit of foil, pencil erasers, pull tabs, etc. That wouldn't be fun at all I don't think. You'd have several targets in one area too since garbage seems to stick together.

Nice coin haul. I use muratic acid to clean up coins in coral. Hat is sweet yeah keep that. See Tesoro Sand Shark on Oak Island searching the swamp? Looking close at that Raptor scoop it looks so well made. Bent up mine a bit last hunt. I may be shopping.... LOL Check those pennies dates if their wheaties!

And now that John Chatterton is diving the boreholes. He is using an Aqua Scan Aqua Pulse. They are a top line commercial UW units like the JW Fisher 6X and 8X. I believe the Aqua Scans are made in the UK. :)

Well, I believe you can wear the Sand Shark hip mount just like Beaker. So, that will take off some weight from the machine although honestly, I don't find it very heavy to begin with. hi she detector. can you please test the teknetics g2 on the beach in a video. I know it's not the same as a pi detector but they do say it works real well on Sea sand.

Happy new year to you as well! Well, in the places I've hunted, which is around the Tampa area, no you do not. But I'm not sure about the rest of the state. you would have to check for the specific beach you're wanting to hunt.
You are very discrete, usually only praising the detectors you are testing, but how do you compare your Excal with this Sand Shark? What are the pro's and con's of each, in your opinion?
Well, it's hard to compare period but more so because the Excal is a VLF while the sand shark is a PI. But, the Excal his discrim capabilities while the sand shark doesn't. Both are good to about 200 feet underwater. Neither has a screen read out. Excal has 21 different tones I believe. Sand shark only has the one tone. Excal automatically ignores iron, sand shark doesn't. Sand shark makes it super easy to pin point with the coil. Excal is also easy due to the DD coil but maybe not as easy as the sand shark. Hunting with each machine on the stock shaft, the Excal will kill your arm, shoulder, & back. Sand shark won't. You can cherry pick with the Excal, not with the sand shark. And lastly, sand shark goes for about $600 while the Excal is $1499. So, they both have their good and bad points. I would go with the Excal hands down any day. But, if you don't mind digging everything and money is kind of tight, the sand shark is a solid choice. I'd pick that PI machine over my Sea Hunter any day.
I simply cannot believe the success with Kelly Co in Orlando. I have tried so many times to deal with them and either I don't hear back or they are just rude. Hate to be "That Guy" but just my experience. Chase Fuller how old is the excal 2. And most of all make sure it checks out electronically. I've seen a few people who ended up buying used defective units. If it all checks out 950 is worth it.
Chase Fuller Awesome. If you are still looking there are a ton of detecting forums online (treasurenet) with classified sections. If you buy one out of warranty check out Old Beech Nuts channel (OBN) aka Joe TH-cam channel. It has upgrades for an on handle discrimination/pinpoint switch and headphones upgrade. And quick coil change outs. Good luck.

I'm not sure about Hillsborough county. I've hunted at Ben T. Davis (in Hillsborough) but didn't need a permit. That's not to say other places don't require them. Your best bet is to check the specific location you're wanting to hunt. Check online and if you can't find anything there, try calling the park itself and speak to a ranger there. Make sure to get their name so if someone stops you, you can tell them Ranger Bob said it was alright. Something along those lines. Good luck!

A big tip ... before you unload the scoop with the possible target inside, check the hole first, if no beep just get the scoop in the water and it will sift in no time :) well ... im used in doing that lol GL & HH
Right you are. I sometimes do that. Not all the time because I'm worried if it's a small target, it will sift right out and now it's in the water :( But it's a great technique for sure! :D

I sure hope so! That would be amazing! Hehehe. Well thank you. I don't like leaving the junk out there. I worry about the animals eating it or getting hurt by it. :( It's a great machine! It think in regards to seeing the target, it's pretty much equal to the Sea Hunter. BUT! In regards to target recovery, the Sand Shark wipes the floor with the Sea Hunter. The coil on the Sand Shark puts the target in a 4 inch circle. Super easy to retrieve it. BUT! Also, the Sand Shark doesn't have discrimination, the Sea Hunter does. Do, they both have their strengths and weaknesses, like all machines. If I had to pick only one, I think I would have to go with the Sand Shark just because of the quick target recovery. How do you compare the sand shark to your sea hunter now. Is it any at sound discrimination or are you still digging it all and getting more money for your efforts. I am still trying to decide what my next machine will be. But I am leaning toward the sand shark, any chance you can do another hunt with it in a park or school ground?

Happy new year to you as well! Thank you! Oh yes, I'd be crazy not too! Hahaha. Well since the sand shark doesn't have any discrim, you have to dig everything. I know I say that about the Sea Hunter too but it has discrim. I just never use it. :) I wouldn't say I'm getting more for my efforts by digging everything but I also hunt the same beaches. Maybe if I hit lots of beaches, it would pay off more. I don't think I would use the sand shark at a park or school ground actually. Since there is no discrim, you would be digging every tiny bit of foil, pencil erasers, pull tabs, etc. That wouldn't be fun at all I don't think. You'd have several targets in one area too since garbage seems to stick together.

Nice coin haul. I use muratic acid to clean up coins in coral. Hat is sweet yeah keep that. See Tesoro Sand Shark on Oak Island searching the swamp? And now that John Chatterton is diving the boreholes. He is using an Aqua Scan Aqua Pulse. They are a top line commercial UW units like the JW Fisher 6X and 8X. I believe the Aqua Scans are made in the UK. :)

Well, I believe you can wear the Sand Shark hip mount just like Beaker. So, that will take off some weight from the machine although honestly, I don't find it very heavy to begin with. You are very discrete, usually only praising the detectors you are testing, but how do you compare your Excal with this Sand Shark? What are the pro's and con's of each, in your opinion?
Well, it's hard to compare period but more so because the Excal is a VLF while the sand shark is a PI. But, the Excal his discrim capabilities while the sand shark doesn't. Both are good to about 200 feet underwater. Neither has a screen read out. Excal has 21 different tones I believe. Sand shark only has the one tone. Excal automatically ignores iron, sand shark doesn't. Sand shark makes it super easy to pin point with the coil. Excal is also easy due to the DD coil but maybe not as easy as the sand shark. Hunting with each machine on the stock shaft, the Excal will kill your arm, shoulder, & back. Sand shark won't. You can cherry pick with the Excal, not with the sand shark. And lastly, sand shark goes for about $600 while the Excal is $1499. So, they both have their good and bad points. I would go with the Excal hands down any day. But, if you don't mind digging everything and money is kind of tight, the sand shark is a solid choice. I'd pick that PI machine over my Sea Hunter any day.

Would u think a used Excalibur 2 with custom st shaft, knob guard and trex scoop for 950 is a good deal?
Chase Fuller how old is the excal 2. And most of all make sure it checks out electronically. I've seen a few people who ended up buying used defective units. If it all checks out 950 is worth it.

Chase Fuller Awesome. If you are still looking there are a ton of detecting forums online (treasurenet) with classified sections. If you buy one out of warranty check out Old Beech Nuts channel (OBN) aka Joe TH-cam channel. It has upgrades for an on handle discrimination/pinpoint switch and headphones upgrade. And quick coil change outs. Good luck.

She Detector it had a issue with coil but seller was willing to work with me on it. It's being repaired but is in a long line at kellyco 7-10 weeks :(
do you need a permit to hunt anywhere in hillsborough county? we do in Hernando but I am thinking of heading to picnic island.
I'm not sure about Hillsborough county. I've hunted at Ben T. Davis (in Hillsborough) but didn't need a permit. That's not to say other places don't require them. Your best bet is to check the specific location you're wanting to hunt. Check online and if you can't find anything there, try calling the park itself and speak to a ranger there. Make sure to get their name so if someone stops you, you can tell them Ranger Bob said it was alright. Something along those lines. Good luck!
