    Hey girl, good to see you hitting it again. I have a suggestion that is in no way mentioned to be criticism. Try detecting parallel to the water starting up on dry ground then as you turn around and head back, you are a swing closer to the water. In other words, your shoulder will be always to the water, not facing or have your back to the water. What this will do for you is help the auto ground balance work in optimum mode. It will give the machine a chance to adjust to the slightly and gradually wetter sand. You will find more targets and your machine will be performing as per factory specs.
    I hope this helps and keep up the great video. Do we see sponsorships in your future?😆

      Hi! Yea, I enjoy it. :D That's great advice! I'll have to give that a try. I did that while hunting Clearwater Beach but didn't on this hunt. Hahaha. I'll try it this weekend. Thanks for the tip! Well right now I've got 2 main sponsors, Kellyco and The Gold Digger Metal Detectors. But I've also worked with Anderson Detector Shafts and 1st Texas Products. :D

      @@SheDetector Hello, I have a Garrett sea hunter 2 and notice it picking up a repeatable tone similar to Morse Code while on discrimination mode, also its picking up objects above the coil. I dont recall it picking up objects above coil nor the repeatable tones while still. Any thoughts? Thanks

    Hello She Detector 😊so sorry for my awful English a.Folks , this Seahunter mark 2 is my favorite beach metal detector assumed you have the 10*14 coil. The only thing is that you have to be a bit patient in order to get the audio learning curve . Once you ve got this then this unit is very powerful and no need to dig too much crap once you are able to listen at this machine . So let me try to explain it to you : First you need a good headphone ,this is very much important . of course this is only a mono sound machine . Nevertheless this machine will tell you everything . First my settings : threshold hearable of course . Then standard mode of course , then elimination at zero . That way the machine is the most powerful . if you have some drift or parasite noise then put elimination at 2 . This is the same as daily in some delay . Then the copper coins response : In order to analyse your target you have to lift the coil until the response is the weakest .Then you sweep your coil getting slowly nearer again towards your target . If copper just next to the weakest sound you will have a sweet coming in sound and also a sweet going out . DO NOT SWEEP TOO FAST. Then very progressively as you get nearer you will have get a sweet combined to a hoarse sound . At the end you will get a saturated sound. the important is to understand that the sound is a kind of 3D evolution . if you learn to listen at this progression you will be able to know what you have got below . This approach works always no matter if your target is big or small ..Only the deepness will be modified . if silver still the same sweet sound but the coming in and out is very slightly shorter and the tone is half a note below . NOW BAD TARGETS : aluminum foils : At the very end of the detection capability you will hear a unsteady weak sound . Then the coming in and out is not sweet at all but kind of more abrupt . There is no sweetness no nice roundness of the tone . And most of all very soon you will have the hoarse sound coming as you get closer with your coil . And the saturation sound will be coming very soon too . get the hang of it and you will never want to detect on the beach with anything else . concerning iron :most of the time is is not a coin nor a ring . So you will get a double wave response winch means that you can forget about it . I hope this helps folks.And happy hunting most of all ...Now gold: I leave you the pleasure to discover 😊😊😊
    Moins

    Another good one, She Detector! I, too, thought that the Sea Hunter may have nudged out the Sand Shark...but just a bit...just in the strongest three ranges.Taking in to account both depths and the three highest ranges of detection(solid, yes, and barely), the SH scored 11 hits to 9 compared to the SS. However, in the lesser two audible ranges of Th and Th?...the SS scored 6 to 1 over the SH. Total audible detection, SS 15 SH 12. So...actually, over-all detection I'd have to give the nudge to the SS, even though I thought that in the upper three ranges that the SH had a stronger sound in its detection. I also believe that anybody would have a BLAST using either one of the detectors. I love looking at the chart details of your detector comparisons. From my comfy recliner, I lazily thank you for the fun. Now, thanks to your usual inspiration, I need to get up and go out to do a little "sniffing around" myself with my AT Pro. Thank you.

    hello She detector 😊 . Here is for the community an air test with my Garret ATX on motion mode ,power at 10 out of 12( factory preset power ), no groundbalancing ,standard double D coil ,frequency scan done . : 1 cents (euro): 10.2 inches. 2 cent (euro) 11.82 inches . 5 cents : 12 inches . 10cents (euro): 10.6 inches . 50 cents(euro) :11.81 inches. 1euro: 12.79 inches. 2 euros :13.77 inches one silver Louis XVI :15.7 inches . I would like to stress the fact that in wet salt sand and water the performances are even better for both machines ATX and Saunter as well. let's say half an inch more . I hope this helps . Happy hunting everyone .

    I just found your channel, it's a shame you no longer do videos. I just recently bought a Garrett Sea Hunter 2. I've had it out 2 times now and I absolutely love it. I have a nox 600 that I use out of the water, but in the water I'm only using the Sea Hunter. To bad, you'll never read this. It would be fun to hunt with you sometime.

    Hello She detector . nice video ! I hope this will help:This Saunter is a great machine ! I have got the garret ATX too . There is a slight difference of an average of 2 inches better than the seahunter. The seahunter has a much better elimination capability on discrete mode when needed than the Garrett ATX . The seahunter keeps you in audio analysis whereas the ATX in motion mode tells you only if it is a high conductive target or a low conductive target. The non motion mode of the garret atx is the most powerful mode . But it is tricky because you always have to reset the sound very often . Also the Garrett ATX needs to be groundbalanced and you have to make a frequency scan before detecting a.The Seahunter is just pure BIG POWER on a non motion monotone mode without anything to calibrate , with this machine there is no hassle at all .This is not always easy at the first time when you use the very very performant ATX . When you do groundbalancing on wet salt water with the ATX you have to understand to be on the good lift/push pace and speed so that your machine can catch the characteristics of the ground and calibrate properly. Otherwise you would have a lot of drifting .The garret ATX is a real killer on smaller targets with the standard double D coil on motion mode . The non motion mode of the ATX is only a hyper powerful help in order to finecoarse your judgment of the target below .According to me for the buck no other detector is so much adaptable without bothering myself with plenty of options . The ATX according to me just does the job beautifully slightly on an other approach whatever the size of the target . TheATX is very much powerful .The ATX is a Flagship a.The seahunter very very good as well . And again I am very much sorry for my only scholar English .I am French passionate from the quality of these two detectors .PS :Learn to listen at your Seahunter and almost no other detector will go deeper . dialing in elimination is the same as introducing a response delay wich has as a result to loose until two inches .....

    Hi SD,,
    I watched one of your videos for the first time a couple of months ago and subscribed. I received my first detector, (AT Max) last week from KellyCo and found a gold cross and ring my first week using it so now im hooked. I live on Long Island NY and want to get a pi detector for the water and wet sand. They both seem very close in performace but I am leaning towards the sea hunter only because the battery housing seems to be a better design for changing the batteries and maintenance. Just wanted to say thanks for all the great content and introducing me to a new hobby. Now I need to make room for all this MD stuff.

    • @360.Outdoors.Videos
      @360.Outdoors.Videos 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I put some performance conclusions for you on this wall. Happy hunting bro. AT pro is a good choice too 👌👍. You will have some erratic sounds in wet salt sand . To minimize this just groundbalance manually your detector to a slight negative value and lower the power about 20% from your usual setting. Happy hunting 👌✌

    • @SheDetector
      @SheDetector  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the late response, I'm catching up! Hehehe. Well thanks for watching and subbing! :D Oh wow! How awesome, nice job! Have you purchased your PI machine yet? The sea hunter is nice, it was my first machine ever! :D If you're still in the market though, check out the Tesoro Sand Shark. It's also a PI and goes 200 feet deep just like the Sea Hunter. But, I like the Sand Shark a little more because of the coil. It makes locating the target so much easier than the Sea Hunter. The Sea Hunter has discrimination where the Sand Shark doesn't. That's the biggest difference. Otherwise, they are equal. Hahaha, yes, you'll need space for sure. Everything adds up quickly!

      Yes, It is the Explorer 2 . Minelab does not make it anymore. You can still find them on E-bay. $400-500.
      I only use the Tesoro when the water temp is warm enough. Water Temp here in Wilmington N.C. is 45* Next time you go to Kellyco ask to see the Minelab Safari. It is a GREAT Beach machine. Really does well in wet sand.

    I think that you have gotten a lot better with you detecting skills... BUT the DD coil is harder to pinpoint a target that a concentric coil.. A DD coil can have the target anywhere along the centerline of the crossover of the two coils a Concentric coil it is for the most part in the center.... Always easier to pinpoint with a concentric!

    • @SheDetector
      @SheDetector  7 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @telcomscott
    @telcomscott 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Talk me off the cliff. I flooded my mine lab equinox and I’m waiting for repair and I bought a sea hunter 2. I hate not having volume control. With a wet suit it’s fine but without it is way to load! I also can’t get past digging every iron target in the state. What the heck? Should I send this Garrett sea hunter 2 detector back? Am I spoiled with the minelab? Do the beaches where you hunt have no nails, spikes etc..?

    right now I use a Tesoro bandito 2 with a concentric coil and I like it a lot too. the hole in the middle sure helps locate find easy for me. keep up good work, im still relying on your tests to pick a new detector.

      Now that's a interesting machine for sure. Looks like detector electronics are in the headset! The waters off SC beaches are so merely you can't see squat unless you go offshore skin diving. But I look forward to watching as you make all testing very interesting.

  • @mikereynolds3294
    @mikereynolds3294 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for a very informative comparison. I feel the Sea Hunter did the better job .....I could definitely hear the targets louder...... kind of worried my sand shark tones won't be definable in the surf when I have waves breaking around me making loud background noise.....I probably would have gone with a different machine except for the fact that I got my sand shark at a good deal.

    • @SheDetector
      @SheDetector  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for watching. :D Yea, I know what you mean. :) Yea, if the waves are crashing and you come across a deep target, it could be hard to hear the faint changes in the sound. But, I think that's a potential problem with any machine. Even with my Excal, sometimes I have to press the headphone to my head to really get a good sound. But only when there's lots of wave action.

    Hello She detector 😊Here my air test on saunter mark 2 on standard mode, winch threshold hearable and elimination at zero with a10*14 coil : 1cent (euro) copper :7.4 inches .2 cents (euro ) copper : 9.04 inches. 5 cents (euro) copper :10.2 inches .10cents (euro):10 inches . 50cents (euro):11.02 inches . 1 euro:11.02 inches . 2 euros :12.5 inches. One big silver Louis XVI :14.9 inches . I hope this will help to have an idea about European money performances of the seahunter mark 2 .A nice day to everyone

    Assumed you have the 10/14 inches coil for the Seahunter Mark2 , then you are not that much far away from a Garrett ATX concerning beach hunting . The ATX might find one euro at 16 inches deep whereas the Seahunter Mark2 is at 14 inches Folks . The seahunter Mark2 is a outstanding good and powerful metal detector. I have got both machines and I love them . The White's TDI SL is also a beach killer . Of course I have got it also ..

    Stainless is definitely the way to go. I also replaced the hardware on my Raptor handle with stainless 8-32 x 1 1/2 machine screws and nylon lock nuts. If your handle has a taper where the raptor is mounted you can use a couple of those sticky pads that came with your GoPro mounting brackets instead of the supplied rubber pads. That will keep the Raptor from creeping towards the skinnier part of the handle...B

    • @SheDetector
      @SheDetector  7 ปีที่แล้ว

That saltwater eats them screws up real quick! :D

      Thank you and thanks for watching!! There are several machines that you could get under $200. They won't have tons of bells or whistles but they will get the job done. :) Check out some Bounty Hunter machines. If you go to www.kellyco.com you will find several Bounty Hunters well under $150. From $150-$200 there are several brands that you could get, Minelab, Garrett, Teknetics, Fisher, Tesoro & Whites. All are wonderful machines. Kellyco has by far the largest number of detectors for under $200 that I've seen. If you checkout www.TheGoldDigger.com they have 6 machines that are between $149 & $200. There's nothing wrong with getting the cheapest Bounty Hunter and using that for a while. Like I said, it'll find the metal if it's there. :)

    • @SheDetector
      @SheDetector  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a good questions. But I don't think so. I'm sure there is something that's been missed due to it being super small and deep. But, I think these machines do a pretty good job at finding the targets for the most part. The Sand Shark found those three tiny little things. Granted, they were less then 6 inches but that's still pretty impressive I think. :) Thanks! I hope your holiday is nice as well! :D

    • @SheDetector
      @SheDetector  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You CAN use it on land but I don't know that I would recommend it for all land hunting. If you're hunting a curb strip, school, or park, I wouldn't recommend it. There will be targets everywhere and the majority will be garbage. You'll be digging all day and only go a few feet. That's if you leave your disc at 0. But, if you're able to get a permission for some farm land where the only thing that ever goes out there are cows, that would probably be all right. I don't imagine there will be a bunch of garbage to worry about.

      No problem. If you're wanting to hunt on both land and at the beach, with the same machine, I wouldn't recommend a PI. They will pick up every little bit of metal, good AND bad. You'd be better off with the AT Pro or AT Max.

      Well, I've not used it so I'm not positive. But if you're looking to get started with something cheap, Bounty Hunter has several machines to pick from. I'm used a Fisher and it's made by the same people that make Bounty Hunter. The Fisher is a great machine. The BH will find the metal if it's there that's for sure. It'll be a good starter machine I think. But make sure not to get the box wet. You MIGHT be able to get the coil wet, but not the box. Good luck!
