      Julie the Charlotte Tilbury color correctors are some of the I used . The one for fair to light skin is a mix of pink with a hint of peach , I have some of them in my kit and they work very well because they act like a stain if you don’t apply too much so they don’t add to product build up and undereye creasing or look cakey

    they say that even the doctor says that a product dissolves after a said time- it might not be true. They did an MRI machine scan to see fillers, dermal fillers, still left in the face after 7 years (!!!) for some preparations that were supposed to only last one year. They concluded that the fillers don't disappear fully, they migrate to other places of your face. Lets say you got lip injections, you feel like it has worn off. It migrated from your lips to the cheeks. Where there is less movement so it settles there. Victorian Cosmetic Institute - is a youtube channel that has a video called "How long do dermal fillers really last? MRI scans provide evidence."

    For color correction, it is important to think about neutralization of color. Complementary colors are how we achieve this. The color wheel is really helpful for this. Or, think sports team uniforms...i.e. Purple and yellow, orange and blue, green and red, etc. Then, we can add light and dark to create tints (white based/pastel), tones (gray/grey), and shades (black based). Thank you for talking about and demonstrating techniques for application. I know that you have an art background, but many of us might not know the underlying color theory behind why peach works, for instance. So, it is really hard to decide what to do for our own undertones, etc. Thanks for all you do!

    • @gillianwills9049
      @gillianwills9049 4 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      I have reddish purple dark circles because it's not the actual skin that's discolored but the skin is so thin that the blood vessels are peeking through. I tried opposite colors like yellow or green to correct purple or red and for whatever reason I spend way too much effort and concealer trying to cover up the corrector, not to mention it ends up rubbing off the corrector. And I still find that the area is no more concealed than if I would have just used a couple of thin layers of concealer to begin with. The red/purple still peaks through no matter what I've ever tried. Its frustrating!

It had two cream concealer pans - a peach and then a neutral. I've tried the Jane Iredale two pan corrector and I don't recommend it unless you have Very fair skin. I'll have to try some of your recommendations.
    One thing that I do on most days - since I go for a more natural look, is to use my dark circles to my advantage. I don't try to completely conceal them and I will leave parts of my eyelid as is because it creates the natural look of eyeshadow.

    Oh my goodness, Alex, you are a godsend. You have been solving all my problems-ESPECIALLY for my dark circles! I'm a brown girl and suffer from Dark Circle Syndrome, and these tips have helped me SO, SO MUCH. The concealer I use is full coverage but it doesn't brighten up the area and I still look /exhausted/ despite patting so much on. Life is a struggle! Thank you so much for your helpful tips; you've taught it in such a simple and straightforward way and I'm mindblown by you! Definitely subscribed!!!

    LimeLife by Alcone’s camoflauge waterproof complete concealer in #3 is the perfect salmon shade for fair to light skintones and circle color correcting. It’s a wax base, a thicker formula, takes very* little, works best if you warm it up with your finger and I’ve been using it the last 3 yrs. I have hereditary circles so dark I look like I have huge black eyes without using it first... I’d def compare it to Ben Nyes. Each concealer is $24 I believe but they last a VERY VERY long time. I also own the #1 corrector for redness, #0 for highlighting and #2 for my skin tone. But anyway, it works beautifully with other concealers too.

    I was interested in undereye filler for years, but an aesthetic practitioner advised against it. She said it’s ideal for those over 50 or 60, but in younger people, the filler often shifts and creates noticeable pockets, requiring frequent corrections or removal. Instead, she recommended addressing lifestyle factors that cause dark circles and puffiness and improving makeup techniques with the right products. Additionally, my research showed that specific undereye creams aren’t necessary; face creams and serums usually work just as well. I managed to improve my undereye situation by managing my water intake, sleep schedule, and stress levels, and by trying out Korean skincare. With the makeup techniques I learned, it has really made a difference. Take my experience and advice with a grain of salt; You‘re up to ur choices ❤

    What do you do if you are pale and have blue circles & bags? I seem to be (IT 11.5 C) concealer color or Shape Tape 20B. I am trying soo many from apricot to pink and I end up looking like I just have circles and bags with concealer on my face. I hydrate, prime..etc but the blue-grey shows through. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Can't find any fair skin gals doing bags with concealer. Also my skin gets lines and has those tiny fat bumps. I don't do a lot of makeup for my look.

    I totally agree with your point on BH Cosmetics. I bought a 10 colour camouflage palette (now discontinued) and it is still solid. Olive shades included. And the best part after so many years of owning it I found it contained my perfect corrector shade and I was unaware. Silly me. It's been like 6 years I bought it and it is still going strong. It didn't go bad and I keep checking for it.

    I loved your previous video where you explained your process for covering your hereditary dark circles. In that video, you also discussed the possibility of getting filler and on later videos, you could see that you had in fact gotten them. You are the very first creator I’ve heard even question the long-term effect of fillers. I thought about getting them for the dark troughs near my inner corner/tear ducts but am afraid of the long-term effects. I think that if you can color-correct them as flawlessly as you do, do you really need to spend the $ on filler? I’m TOTALLY not against fillers, but in your case, you’re so amazing at finding the correct shades, warmth, etc, is there a need to take the risk? I use the NYX light shade color correctors. There are 6 shades in a square compact. I like it very much but can’t compare it to the Ben-Nye. As always, thank you for showing us your unbelievable talent and for guiding/teaching us with clear, detailed, and thorough directions/instructions!! 😘💙🤗💜😉

      I'm not Alexandra but they do different things imo. Colour correcting neutralizes the tone of the dark circles so that they don't appear ashy under concealer, and fillers reduce the appearance of bags so that the shadow in that 'dip' doesn't add to the appearance of dark circles. I have dark circles and no matter how much correcting and concealing I do, the area will still look dark in certain angles and lighting because of the shadow caused by my eye bags.

    So glad I found you! I have the same exact coloring as you and dark circles. This pale olive skin is such a pain! I like Urban decay naked skin in peach. I love your makeup tutorials! (Somebody is messing with your video, FYI. Although I think you might be aware. ) I don't know what the laws are in your country about using someone's video without permission to create digitally generated videos that modify the small pixels in a digital graphic file to create a simulation of the person. Some call this Artifical Intelligence, but that is not how I understand the term. Companies who scrape art and video are simply using computer programs to modify the many embedded color commands in a graphics file. There are also computer programs that use tags embedded in the programs to generate new images based on the images in a large database of images. I think that you already know this, I am just writing this out for your viewers who may not know this.

    This makes me wonder if my problem is using a too cool hue of color corrector (peach), because I'm east Asian so I have warmer skintone, maybe the peach-pink conflicts too much which is why my dark circles are still so gray. I will have to try maybe a yellow or apricot type of shade and hope that works better.

    Alex help. I've got pretty dry undereyes and also dark circles and I feel like anytime I use corrector it's just a lot of product under my eyes and it makes my undereyes look very textured but not setting my undereyes doesn't seem like an option for me cuz I crease. But anytime I try a creamier consistency to combat the dryness my corrector just seems to mix in with my concealer.

    • @natezgirl83
      @natezgirl83 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Carol Ortiz let your corrector dry down for a few mins before going in over it. I I also do this with the top concealer. It really helps! And making sure I’m lightly tapping it on and not swiping which moves the products around. Oh and apply your concealer below your creases and cover the creases with shadow like Alex does. I used to have the creasing issue too bc when we have creases already it almost doesn’t matter what we put over them, how lightly we put product there or how well we set the area. It will still usually crease. Ever since I’ve been doing Alex’s method though it’s not been a prob at all, plus my eyes look prettier with shadow always underneath my lash line.

      You could try using a darker concealer to cover the darkness, let it set and then using a lighter one on top.
      Otherwise try reducing the amount of product you're using and setting it with powder and a spray. Play around with this. Try using oil on your under eyes at night to help your skin too

      Make sure you don't stretch out the skin by kind of tightening it when you set... guh hard to explain what I mean. Need to make sure you keep looking forward and don't move your eyes. I find that helps a lot instead of kind of looking up when setting.
