This was so detailed in the way you explained everything, so informative and easy to follow along and understand because I think you're so honest, have a wealth of knowledge that you so eloquently share and are so relatable and down to earth. I've really missed you, you have taught me so much and influenced me to a product or two! Because I know you always give your honest opinions. I can't wait to see more from you. Thanks to you, I might have to start for at least special occasions! Sending you much love and hugs from me in the UK 🇬🇧 ❤
As a boy who wears makeup, I use powder blush to color correct the blue/grey cast on my neck where I shave. Such an easy way to color correct after applying a foundation, and it sets my foundation there.
I was wondering about powder mostly because I'm cheap and want to use what I have.. Sounds like the main thing is to use cream under only, so this would not be a layering option with a liquid concealer over the color correction, right?
@@istrala I think cream works better on more focused areas, and helps prevent the overuse of product on the face. I only use powder for my neck/beard area because the grey/blue of my stubble covers a larger area of skin, so a dusting of powder is easier to apply than using a ton of cream, and the powder just helps push it in the right direction.
@@istrala for something like under eye circles, blemishes or scarring, or hyperpigmentation I would for sure use a cream layer first then decide after foundation if I needed extra coverage with concealer, or if the cream color corrector and foundation gave me enough.
Thank you for addressing brown and gray discoloration. Most people only talk about correcting red, blue and purple. It took me years of trial and error to figure it out. I use an apricot corrector shade (slightly more yellow than a peach shade), concealer that is as close as possible to my skin color (avoid lighter shades to avoid grayness), and a yellow leaning powder to set and brighten.
I never needed a color corrector until I hit 52 last year (skin gets thin, y'all), but it's so helpful. A little goes a long way and makes such a difference. (Bobbi Brown color corrector in Porcelain Peach FTW!)
@@SoNick25 It's less about "covering" them and more about "using the tiniest amount to cancel them out." I don't know if that makes sense, but I don't use it like a concealer-- it goes under my concealer. It makes it so the concealer doesn't have to work as hard.

My fav peach colour corrector is the Hard Candy one (from Walmart). It has one of those gross little squeeze applicator tips, but I actually kind of love that. And on my fair-light skin the tone is just pink enough that I can wear it alone as a concealer/corrector all in one as it has a decent amount of coverage. I have rosacea and my go-to foundation these days is the Erborian CC red correct. It’s green with encapsulated pigment so it colour corrects and then turns into a skin tone light foundation. I looooove that formula and it has a bit of SPF. These are two of my holy grail products, especially for a light makeup day.

Literally just used green color corrector as I usually do (blends right in on my olive skin tone) and was wondering if I should try using concealer since my PMS skin is not looking so hot… and then this video popped up! Thanks for sharing all the knowledge, Alexandra!
I’ve got dark circles that bedeviled me forever, but I was able to manage with concealer until I hit 40. Now the combo of corrector + concealer looks terrible in the eye area, makes my wrinkles stand out more and the whiteness in the concealer in the very, very dark hollows can make my olive skin grey, can never put enough corrector to fix it. So, I ditched the concealer for the under eye, use only a very small amount of corrector and it fades into my skin and hides 80% of the darkness without making them grey or orange like a raccoon.
Drugstore reccs- actually sub-drugstore. I love high end complexion but not gonna pay those prices if a $1.25 product is very very good. LA Girl makes a light peach color corrector, which is unusual at this price point (altho I think it’s awesome dark peach came out first), and b pur moisturizing concealer is the best for a very light moisturizing product. Very natural but does its job

As a 55yo with tan skin , I need to wear corrector and concealer. Its a challenge to avoid cakiness on my undereyes because of my dark circles and dry /textured undereyes. I'm trying to apply thin layers, while still neutralizing, concealing and hydrate. I dont set with powder because it emphasizes my fine lines , aging my look even more. My concern is finding the right thin serum-like formula with enough peachy/orange pigment . I also prefer thin hydrating formula for concealer. Most on the market are so thick and dry , which younger eyes can wear
I've never heard of Demi Makeup, but it sounds like the puzzle piece technique that Lisa Eldridge does! I use a peachy color corrector for around my mouth and place different tones of concealer (usually just 1) to even myself out without overlapping. I'm medium olive with some hyperpigmentation and that technique prevents my makeup from looking cakey while being visually cohesive. My hyperpigmentation pulls greenish grey brown so peach is my bestie

The decision is definitely very individual but if I can give you one piece of advice it would be to go to a real plastic surgeon for a consultation NOT a medspa. Thanks for the awesome vid packed with important and useful information! I've been utilizing my super red (pinkish tone, which I've grown to kinda hate) cheeks, to only apply light layers of light/medium coverage foundation and using orangey and apricot color blush shades to create a peachy pink blush. I also have really dark eye area and my maturing skin and wrinkles really don't take a lot of heavy concealer well, so I'm counting a lot on colour correcting and light layers! A lot of these methods I'm currently using on my make up routine atm is thanks to you and your amazing videos and tutorials! So thank you again!
I FINALLY GET IT. THE GRAYNESS (?) OF THE CONCEALER. Not to sound offensive but even though i always understood the theory behind it i always thought it was actually some kind of placebo effect? LMAOO im so dumb, what switched it all far me was "none of these products are actually opaque". I feel brand new
The older I get, the more use I get out of a color corrector than out of a concealer. And my go to at the moment is Haus Labs concealer 05 Fair Peach. Chef’s kiss!

Thanks for the video. It really showed the difference. My problem is getting my foundation to mix in with the concealer under my eyes. You can always see where one starts and the other ends. Any suggestions to make sure they blend?
I'm 53 and only realised from you that I have slightly light olive skin. Was wondering why I was having difficulty choosing a new foundation...till now. Thankyou!!!!
I feel like this broke my brain a little - I've been doing a similar colour corrector/concealer combo on my under eyes, as I have similar dark circles. But just last week I was wondering why the pigmentation spot I have was looking so ashy under my concealer. I never thought to colour correct that too!! You're brilliant, thank you!
I tried Catrice eye brightener on Amazon which worked great with my concealer. It helps with my aged skin that I have now. Your explanation on the ash color was great now I get it 😊 thank you.
I love the information you always give in your videos. It's very useful! ❤ One question, though... I'm always a little confused about when to do either of these, i.e., before or after foundation. Can you please give some advice on that?
Pixi By Petra Correction Concentrate in the color Brightening Peach is my favorite. The single most repurchased makeup item for me. I would consider it full coverage.
I am one of those people that will always have to conceal my undereyes... I have a question though. How do you get your corrector to stay in place in order to apply your concealer on top and at the same time maintain the coverage? Thank you!!
Such a great video! Thank you! Have you tried The Saem triple pot colour corrector? The green and peach are kind of muted(?) and blend really well with my light olive skin. Can’t even tell I’m wearing the green it blends so well with my green tinged skin!
I always find that most peach color correctors (like the LA Girl peach one) are too cool for my light to light medium skin and the orange ones are too dark. I have very DARK dark circles. Do you know any warm toned peach correctors?
Could you make a video about prepping and makeup for oily skin? I've been doing some treatment for it, but there are so many options of primers and foundation finishing, it's hella confusing 😢

The decision is definitely very individual but if I can give you one piece of advice it would be to go to a real plastic surgeon for a consultation NOT a medspa. This stuff is so much more serious than people make it out to be and let's face it (pun not intended at all), this is your face! Your literally wear it on the front of your head,! So just proceed with caution and don't get talked into anything you don't fully understand or even want 🙏🏼
@@AlexandraAnele I’m so sorry I got that wrong!! Thank you for the advice sweetie!!! I’m sorry you had to bad experience too!! I want Botox so bad but I’m honestly scared to death! I mean I like being able to move my face😂
This was legit so helpful! I’ve got the same olive skin tone as you, maybe pull a little more tan/red and always have trouble finding a concealer to match. Not only that, so confused on the color correction thing! ❤❤ Thank you!
I need help with my combination eyes because they are large, round, and hooded with large lid space above the crease. I can never find a video to suit me specifically.
I saw this trick from some kpop MUA with using purple color corrector under the blush to make the cheeks more round and youtful. I'm looking for a good cheap lavender corrector ever since. Obsessed!
Interesting 🤔 I wanna look into this!
@@AlexandraAnele omg pweaase do! I think Josica mentioned their name in one of her more recent beginner friendly makeup tutorial
Nyx has color corrector palette, also in purple color in ❤
@@Kirzikka. Yes, I'll probably go with that. Was thinking about it too
LA girl
Alex is BACK!!!!! Would love to see more of your jewelry collection and where you shop for them. I know you did one but can we get another......if you bought anything new. itching to buy new pieces
S-O helpful! Appreciate your distinguishing betw color corrector and concealer and when or when not to use either or both. Can let facial stuff fly but was so in need of how to approach dark circles. Again, most useful tutorial for my needs in I don’t know how long! Thank you. Thank you!! Thank You!!!
And, welcome back, Alex&ra…….
Wow i'm super impressed with the green color correction ... it's undetectable !
I have Milani undereye brightener in Rose that I use to correct before applying my Nars Radiant Creamy concealer, and I love it! I use the Catrice Instant Awake undereye brightener in Light Rose sometimes as well. The Catrice is medium to full coverage imo. The LA Pro Conceal is a little heavy for me. Thanks for posting this video. ❤
Thank you so much for this Alex! I never know what to do with my dark circles so I will give your tip a try! Would love to see your current base routine :)
Love your rings you’re wearing!!
Thank you! I think I got all of them on etsy! ❤️

AHHH MY GIRL IS BACK
Hayyyyy 🙌🏼❤️
Thank you my love, from the bottom of my heart.... You made my day!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This has been so informative!
Loved this - no nonsense explaining lol 😆
100% yes to a skin prep video!
Great tips! I would love a video on what makeup brushes you would buy if you were starting your brush collection from scratch.
Very helpful video. Your explanation was excellent. Thank you.
That Givenchy really blends in nicely on your skin
I FINALLY GET IT. THE GRAYNESS (?) OF THE CONCEALER. Not to sound offensive but even though i always understood the theory behind it i always thought it was actually some kind of placebo effect? LMAOO im so dumb, what switched it all far me was "none of these products are actually opaque". I feel brand new
The older I get, the more use I get out of a color corrector than out of a concealer. And my go to at the moment is Haus Labs concealer 05 Fair Peach. Chef’s kiss!
Excited you're back!!❤❤
this is your third video in a row that im watching tonight lol and I wanted to take a sec to comment an idea: would you do the 16personalities test (MBTI i think it’s called?) and do a make up or organization video or any video of your preference, while reading your results and commenting if you relate to the results or not….? As an INFP I’d tooootally appreciate and watch the hell outta that video 😅❤
Glad You're back, You're the greatest ❤
I enjoy your videos so much! I only do my makeup once in a while, but I love watching you and getting all your tips ❤ thanks for always being awesome 👸
I got the Omnia from the same brand and I indeed looove it. I’m still trying to sleep on my back, which is still impossible for me haha, but the pillow works! With a satin pillowcase of course 😍
I wish I could sleep on my back 😩 This pillow saves me tho 🙌🏼❤️
I learn so much from your videos I really appreciate you Alex! 💞
What i am thankfull the most is that you explain, realy teaches. ❤
Love you! Thank you so much. After pregnancy I got so many dark areas on my face so I’m very excited to try this ❤
Love my omnia sleep & glow pillow - can't be without it & take it with me everywhere now!
Brilliant! And yes please! I am sure we all need to see your new make up routine!! Especially me 😅 I use as little products as possible hihi
I tried Catrice eye brightener on Amazon which worked great with my concealer. It helps with my aged skin that I have now. Your explanation on the ash color was great now I get it 😊 thank you.
Random, where could we find the earring from your last video? Those gold and jade earrings are beautiful!
Oh man, I've been thinking about this pillow recently, what excellent timing 😂
It really is a must have ❤️
I love the information you always give in your videos. It's very useful! ❤
One question, though... I'm always a little confused about when to do either of these, i.e., before or after foundation. Can you please give some advice on that?
Thank you ❤🩷🧡, love your channel and your natural fun personality. You make learning techniques easy . MWAAA🙋🏻♀️🇦🇺❤️🧡
Thank you love! ❤️
Welcome back Alex!! 🤗🧡
Nyx is tried and true for me. And the Revlon and Maybelline eyeshadow pots are insanely sweat resistant.
I needed this video so bad!!! Thank you
Wonderful video! Love all you do. Love the earings...where can I buy them?
This was great, so informative! Thanks so much Alex!! ❤🙏
