- Review of Arcade Archives release of 1991 vert Thunder Dragon from NMK. Probablt better known for being the predecessor of Thunder Dragon 2 than as a game in its own right, this one might surprise some people.

Got this PCB so pleased to see it on switch. Solid shooter. Like yourself, hoping we see the sequel soon too. Thanks for the great review!
I’ve got the PCB of this too, can’t get past level 3🙈rock hard
Thunder Dragon 2 is a tough pcb to find
@@Sinisteve yeah it's bloody tough! Was playing it on the switch last night. You're right, rarely see the 2nd one pop up. Great sequel though. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Twin Eagle 2 to get a switch release as part of the arcade archives 🤞
ACA Thunder Dragon 2 is available! Review when?
I've got it, and I've been playing it. Hopefully can have something up early next week.
If you can't wait though, the long and the short of it is, it's really, really good - much beter than this - and is an absolute no-brainer.
Another great video. Your work is much appreciated. thanks!
new sub!
A surprisingly good shmup in its own right. A superior iteration on the Raiden formula imo.
Love Raiden 2. Might give this a try
Awesome synopsis.
This looks pretty fun. Those mussels are kick ass!! Number 4 all the way baby!! ;)
Hi, im loving this channel and I'm devouring all the videos one by one to gain any bit of knowledge, especially for someone who knows not much about this genre. Id'like to ask for a favor if i may, i started recently playing this genre on mobile with games like strike force, gunbird 2, strikers 1945, to the top infinity space shooter, sky force, sector strike and others even much more famous and beloved (but some were too stressful or difficult for me), are there for the nintendo switch games like these? For now It would be amazing with different levels to beat separately so you can end one or two and turn off the console and then reopen and continue with another mission :/ it's ok even if they are okeyish made, too easy and so generally ignored by the shmups medium player, again I'm a newbie. Hope anyone will suggest anything :)
Sounds like Anger Force Reloaded would be perfect for you. Here's my review (first one I did): th-cam.com/video/HPukjmPNhd8/w-d-xo.html
Ghost Blade HD doesn't have the level select, but it's easier than most shmups: th-cam.com/video/26330v_gk-U/w-d-xo.html
Also, keep an eye on the channel over the next couple of days cause the next review may be good for you too...
@@ShmupsOnSwitch thank you very much for giving your time and answering me, bless you ^^ I'll absolutely watch!
Ps. And sorry for posting the same question on two videos but I've seen later that I've commented on an 1year old video and i didn't know how notification works on such older ones
I love these games but wow the joycons really don’t help out in any way, what controller do people recommend to use for shmups and beat em ups?
I'm happy enough with the ProController. I also have a Hori left JoyCon with a d-pad.
There are a few proper sticks available, but I haven't tried any. Hopefully someone can recommend one...
Joy cons play fine. Don't read all that internet junk out there.
Get the 8bitdo Sn30 plus.the best pad ever
Go to bed, matey!
You should do a review of Stereden. One of the best Shootemups of all time
do you ever regret the core conceit of your channel?
You mean that it's about shmups? No, not at all.
@@ShmupsOnSwitch no, the switch part. Sorry tor the mean spirited comment but for every rolling gunner there are bunch of 5/10 arcade archive releases and stinkers like q-yo blasters.
Well, to be honest, about this time last year I did accept a few codes for games that turned out to be pretty shit and I did get a bit fed up playing them. Now, I try to only play games I think might be good.
