Glad to see I'm not the only one who packs hand sanitizer and earplugs. I haven't upgraded to the RF version of the 70-200mm lens either because I don't like how far you need to turn the zoom ring to get from 70mm to 200mm. Heading to a wedding right now and it will be my first wedding with my new 28-70mm f/2L on the EOS R5.

I don’t have an assistance so the small size of the B10 is very appealing compared to some of the GODOX models.
I love the Porter Case! I have and use two of them-the older one is over 20 years old now and holding strong. At one time, they discontinued the one you're using and replaced it with a newer design, but they brought it back recently as the PC II. (I had to use eBay to get my second one.) Wheels for everything!
Vanessa -- love your videos. Is the Porter Case no longer available? Tried to look up more information about it and looks like the website is no more. Just wanted to know if you had any insight into this. -- Thanks!
So much great information and presentation! Quick question: Do you take advantage of the R5's dual card slot or do you rely on backing up to your DJI regularly throughout the day or both? I get nervous about not having back up and/or missing a shot because of slow writing speed. Thank you for your feedback!
Are use both card slots and I’m back up date of for my second shooters photos. You really shouldn’t experience any lag with card write speed shooting a wedding. If you do we need to talk about how fast you’re shooting 😂
I only take my 35 mm f1.4, 85 mm f1.4 and 100 mm macro to weddings. The 70-200 mm f2.8 is too heavy to carry around all day and in dark situations it's not good enough. Off course I bring a few flashes, modifiers and light stands. I take 2 camera's and plenty of sd cards and batteries. I'm not a pro though.
You need an assistant and a packhorse for that lot! The printer is a good call, though, I used to second shoot for a wedding photographer that had an 8x10 dye-sub printer [it was very bulky] and it was a huge hit with the wedding party and guests.
I know the 1dX has been your bread and butter for a long time and you only until recently started getting more into mirrorless. What’s prompted the change? I mean, a 1Dxiii is a hell of a backup/B-camera, but it’s cool seeing you using the R5 as your main body now.
The AF system did it for me. It's so crazy good with the eye/face/head detection that I almost don't have to think about focus anymore and can concentrate on the rest of it (when before focus was a primary thought in my head likely to a detriment).
I entered. I don't know why as I was pretty much done with contests. Well, seeing it is you I entered. BTW, looks like you may be on the way to get half million entries. I assume you pack all this for local weddings. What do you bring when you travel by air? What do you carry on and what do you check? Do you trust your lights (B10s) in baggage? Or do you rely on A1s (like Seth) and just carry them on with your cameras and lenses?

Hi! Thank you so much… and for all of your videos! Do you currently use your B10s with the R5 and high speed sync? I just picked up two new B10x+ lights and I get a bright band at the bottom of my photos in HSS. Profoto is telling me this issue is only with the R5 with the B10s and will be fixed with a firmware update. Do you have the same problem?
I use the b10s and r5 and in the beginning I did have a sync problem like you’re describing and I just updated all the firmware and then it was fine. It happens sometimes since the two companies don’t exactly share tech before comes out so sometimes they have to do some tweaking with the firmware upgrade

I loved that camera.
instead of replacing EF lenses for RF lenses just get the adaptor.
I have the adaptor 😉 you see it on my 135mm. But there’s no EF 28-70 f/2
Why do you take ear plugs?
have you ever been to a Jersey Shore wedding??
Are you on clubhouse? Just asking so you can talk to your audience if we have questions rather then going through each question on TH-cam?
I am usually once a week. Don’t do it too much though because I have two young kids and zero privacy :) hard to talk with loud kids in the background.
All I ever hear is that the 70-200 is a wedding photographer staple. Curious what about your style makes it unnecessary. Thx.
It’s more preference. I prefer the 135 f/2 (usually at f/2) bc it’s lighter. I can always walk closer or set my camera crop to 1:6 if I really need to get in closer, which is fairly rare
@@VanessaJoy thanks! Appreciate the perspective! 😀
My dream a camera.
It is a dream :)
$6,500 backup camera. Seem legit...
That was my main camera before the R5 came out, my main camera becomes my backup. I don't buy two cameras at once almost ever.
@@VanessaJoy That's what I figured. If anything it highlights how impressive the R5 is that it can bump the 1dx III to a backup role. Just wish I earned enough to be able to make that choice!
How much to charge my clients 🤣😂🤣😂🤣 Really how much do you take money for one wedding?
Can’t tell if this is an insult but I’m proud to say I’ve worked to be one of the most luxury wedding photographers in my area and a client typically starts around $9,000-12,000 and adds on another $3,000-5,000 after the wedding.
@@VanessaJoy Definitely you deserve it ,because you are one the best photographer in the world...with Good cameras and lenses (you have the best 85mm ever)!
Ma’am, will you marry me?
I’m married ☺️
Dont get the purpose of wedding coz couple live together. Sex out of wedlock
