Nice tips but this is soooo easy with a stunning model who KNOWS how to do everything you're telling her already! If you could show this workflow on a real bride who doesn't have this posing experience, that would be great.
it’s hard to convince non working models to do videos with you, especially all day long as I film 10-12 videos in a day 😉 regardless I say literally the same things and get almost identical results with the exception of a variety of facial expressions - but I’ll have a video on how to get those later!
simple ... but I like it ... I often take photos of hijab brides ... because here are a lot of Muslims ... you are my inspiration in photo style ... my camera is canon eos 6 d and sigma lens 24 -70 ... no art kwkwkw... Macro ... often loses focus ... thank you brother ...
I have got to say thanks for all the time you give to us viewers. I have yet to do. Wedding but look forward to it one day. But I have used some of your poses for dance and they work great. Thank you
Great variety! Thanks for that! So you have frontal lighting, reflection of the light of rhe wall for fill in the first part. It would be usefuel to explain your light situation ,however as i see it's more a posing tutorial. Thanks again.
I noticed when you where taking these picture your camera bag was open behind you. How do you protect your gear, if you were doing this photo shoot alone?
@@VanessaJoy when all clears up in the world my dream will be to come to New York and have be able to have a one day mentor ship or attend a class of yours and also meet Jared Pollin. One day!
I used to always shoot in HTP But it would annoy me not being able to go down to ISO 100, and the truth is if you totally blow your highlights you’ve totally blown them so the highlight tone priority wasn’t going to save me from super blown out exposure anyway
Vanessa, what kind of strap was that you were wearing? Love the look and the bottom attachment. I'd like to get one for my R5. Thanks for the fantastic video! Also, Thanks for your stitch fix link. I started 2 accounts with it, my wife and I both. Cheers and hope you get your credit soon :)
I finally have an answer for you about my camera strap! creative-teacher-9768.ck.page/1fb5eeedd8 this will be VERY limited so lmk here if you want to know when it's available!

When the bride & groom are selecting what to buy are you showing photos that are cropped to a uniform size (for example, 8×10) and then recropping to other sizes in accordance to what they want to actually purchase?
My style is natural light so I’ll use flash if it enhances the natural look (golden hour or fill flash) or if I want to do something dramatic (at night particularly).
I totally agree with you. Styled shoots are a good thing but you’re really setting yourself up for failure if your portfolio is full of styled shoots, because those expectations cannot be met on the wedding day typically.

I love your way to teach as a mentor pro. photographer.. ❤️
5:00 I like on the two light lines on the ground frame her. Not sure if that’s considered framing to a point but I love the placement
Glad you like :)

Did you use any presets to edit?
Yes - presets.breatheyourpassion.com
Brilliant 👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks 😊

Love your work and thanks for the tips!
I'm aiming to become a canon explorer of light someday myself.
Also you're gorgeous..
Go for it! and thanks :-)
Hi Vanessa: in terms of protecting the highlights at 9:00 have you ever shot in highlight tone prioritiy?
I used to always shoot in HTP But it would annoy me not being able to go down to ISO 100, and the truth is if you totally blow your highlights you’ve totally blown them so the highlight tone priority wasn’t going to save me from super blown out exposure anyway
@@VanessaJoy aww thanks for the advice!
Lovely 👍🏽
Thanks 😊
Good afternoon Vanessa, please tell me which camera profile do you use Lightroom ?
Adobe standard - sometimes I switch to portrait
@@VanessaJoy thank you very much
Superior work! How much in advance do you normally shoot the bride prior to the wedding and do you use a color checker? Thanks!
I don’t use a color checker and we photograph the bride right after she gets dressed and a little more after the first look or ceremony
Do you use back button focus? Thanks Vanessa!
I don’t :)
Do you use your joy stick to focus? Or what were you doing or moving back of the camera while shooting? Thank you Vanessa for your beautiful videos!!!
Probably eye detect af with af servo. It's the R5. Around 5:55 looks like she was using touch and drag AF for the detail shots
You got it!
@@VanessaJoy
Do you use both, joy stick and touch and drag? Can you explain?
Thanks Vanessa!
Noticed the 28-70 F2.0 was swapped for the 50mm F1.2…is that typical for you shooting without an assistant?
Definitely makes it easier not swapping lenses ☺️
i was surprised to see that yo have the same t-shirt as me except mine is black and 40? years old. good video thank you
Haha nice

Nice TIPS I am a great fan of yours.
But I would prefer having a darker or more contrast in the background
Please give your opinion
Lol My opinion is already there. I took the pictures the way I like them. But if you like darker backgrounds that’s fine too!
When the bride & groom are selecting what to buy are you showing photos that are cropped to a uniform size (for example, 8×10) and then recropping to other sizes in accordance to what they want to actually purchase?
I just show them as shot :) we can crop later in albums or for wall art
Fantastic pictures, great tips and black vinyl pants..... what else could we want? 😍😂😂😂
Lol I was sweating in those
I want to know if those shirts are OG or she knows a place to get older shirts?
I think this one was an Instagram ad haha
What drives your decision to choos between natural light and flash when doing bridals?
My style is natural light so I’ll use flash if it enhances the natural look (golden hour or fill flash) or if I want to do something dramatic (at night particularly).
It’s a thing now that Wedding Photographers samples are full of models dressed as brides, kinda gives the wrong message …but of course £££
I totally agree with you. Styled shoots are a good thing but you’re really setting yourself up for failure if your portfolio is full of styled shoots, because those expectations cannot be met on the wedding day typically.
