I love the music. So great and Patriotic. Thank you for the patterns and the tutorial. I have 3 small flags in my house and I have 1 large one that flies on my garage. Everyday and 12 noon here in Portland our local radio station KXL plays the National Anthem. I have only missed listening a few times since it started at the beginning of April. It makes me proud to be an American and makes me cry.
Thank you for keeping in the crooked sewing! Sometimes as a beginner it can be overwhelming to see how perfect a professional quilters work is, so it’s nice to know that even the pros aren’t perfect!
LOVED this patriotic and fun project! Brings back memories of simply sewing along with Kimberly from the very beginning. She is the master of organizing and step-by-step sewing so we can follow along all the way to the completed design. Thanks Kimberly!
Thank you for boldly “flying” your patriotic flag. We need to appreciate our freedom and stand up for it. I love quilt as you go projects. I cannot afford to “quilt by check”, so I need projects I can work on my sweet little brother. 😄
Thanks for this cute and easy project! Your detailed directions with explanations for each step are so clear and helpful! I especially like you idea of using the Frixion pen and drawing 1/4” seam lines to get accurate seams in this situation because quarter inch presser feet with flanges are challenging in this layered project!
Thank You for sharing a project that all of us can make, just in time for the 4th of July!! Now, more than ever, we need to proudly display our great flag. Happy 4th Fat Quarter Shop!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
great video! i love watching kimberly's tutorials. the patriotic music was a good touch. it made me smile. i think this is going to be a 'big bang for the buck' kind of project in that it doesn't take a lot of time to make, but it packs a big punch with the end result. many thanks!!! 💞🇺🇸💞🇺🇸💞
What a treat! Great video and thanks for leaving in the crooked stripes part because that’s how I sew. 😁 I loved the patriotic music during the time lapses. Happy 4th Fat Quarter Shop!
Kimberly thank you for sharing a beginner friendly quilt as you go project. I feel confident that I can make this, as I don't always sew a straight line. Thank you for showing how it is very forgiving.
I love this! And whoever did the editing, it was so cute that the trumpets started up right as Kimberly was recovering from her finger prick. It made me giggle. Real life, right!? I'm glad you kept it in. We all need some lightness of heart right now.
🇺🇸❤️I remember as a little girl some many neighbors had the American flag flying proudly on their homes. I put ours out everyday. 🇺🇸 The music is great.❤️
When not using a walking foot I lighten up the pressure on my presser foot to help alleviate the problem of the fabric creeping while stitching. Lovely project, Kimberly. Thank you 😊
I love the music and I like the quote a lot that's cooland I love the stuff that you do and sharing with us on the quilting and the cross stitching thank you for sharing and God bless and take care and stay safe out there 😇😇😇
Great project! I'm glad to see Kimberly that you're not perfect like the rest of us. I thought you were sewing crooked and I tried to correct you but you didn't hear me. Lol. Thank you for the patriotic music. Happy 4th of July!
What a fun little project, thank you! I made one today! I’m a new quilter, and I learned a lot doing this. 😁 Now I have to go learn how to do the binding...
One should of drawn the layout on the batting in order to keep it straight. Another option would be to make the upper stripe panel section, then attach the stars to the upper panel, then attach the lower panel section, you could then go back and either stitch in the ditch for the stripe sections or a a decorative stitch that goes over the stitch lines.
Thanks, Merida! That is a good idea for this small piece! The larger your piece, the greater the chance of backing fabric shifting and stretching with QAYG, even with edge reinforcement.
Hello! It may, simply because the project is so small, that a little distortion will be more noticeable. We suggest practicing it on a scrap sandwich first.
Hi Kimberly! Where is the link to the starching video that you said you would include? I have seen some of yours but I want to make sure I have seen the one you are referring to. Thank you!
Hello Patty! The William's Honor FREE Patterm is available in the description box underneath the video www.fatquartershop.com/williams-honor-quilt-pattern-free-pdf
@@FatQuarterShopTX I was wanting the pattern for the one you demonstrated. I know I can write it down but I thought that was the one you were referring to as the free pattern. Thank you
Love this quilt and the music! Our country needs some patriotism right now.

This is so cute Kimberly. 💙❤️

I love quilt as you go projects.
I cannot afford to “quilt by check”, so I need projects I can work on my sweet little brother. 😄
I love it! I can adapt any flag to this method and celebrate our heritage or that of our more recent immigrant friends. Thank you!
I thought the same!! I will try to do my flag. ❤️

Great project. Loved the music . It reminded me of pass and review (graduation) from Navy boot camp.
Loved the background music, especially the United States Marines’ song, as my son is a Marine. What a great easy project. Thank you.

So cute! Thank you!
I have flags all over our house, this lil cutie will be a great addition!
That is just too cute!!! Thank you!!!
Thanks for the great quilt as you go video. This is a great way to try QAYG technique to see if you like it. Thanks a bunch! We appreciate you!!

Wonderful video & project!
Love the pattern. Wouldn't the back and batting stay in place if the outside edges were basted together before you began?
Thanks, Merida! That is a good idea for this small piece! The larger your piece, the greater the chance of backing fabric shifting and stretching with QAYG, even with edge reinforcement.
Hello Merelda! It would, but it could get very wrinkled in the center if the quilt top is moving as you quilt, but the edges are basted down.
I want to see the other project you use the leftover fabric on! Lol!
Would also quilting a motif in the stars os the flag cause any distortion? Love the project!
Hello! It may, simply because the project is so small, that a little distortion will be more noticeable. We suggest practicing it on a scrap sandwich first.

@@FatQuarterShopTX I was wanting the pattern for the one you demonstrated. I know I can write it down but I thought that was the one you were referring to as the free pattern. Thank you
What do you do if the back bunches up? Can you correct it?
Hello Dell! Not without ripping seams - it's best to make sure the backing is flat and secured
❤

Really Sad that you have to wait for the political ads to finish before you can watch a sewing video!
Love the music!
Thank you!
