No wait still have to finish my Threadology.. I’m starting to feel like the Hare in Alice in Wonderland.... no time to loose , no time to wait, I’m late, I’m late 🤦‍♀️

    I don't like Duck edges either and I found if I press the seam first like turning it to the middle, then move back to the edge I get a really sharp edge without much fussing with and constantly using my fingers to get right on the edge. Not sure why that works for me but it does, with minimal fussing. Worth a try.

      Yes! I do exactly the same thing! This method works! So much easier!!! Try it! You'll like it!!

      This is such a great tip!! Thanks so much... I hate trying to "roll" the seam to get it perfect, but this makes so much more sense.

    If you put the bow tube on a flat surface and roll the seams back and forth you can get them to line up... finger press then take it to the iron.

    Very pretty but would have liked to see how you made the bow

    I avoid duck pleats by spritzing the seam with water and then spritzing my hands. This nakes it easier to roll the seam to the edge because the fabric will stick to your wet fingers. I hope you try it. It works for me.

    I love the wreath! I'm going to try this with all of the many green scraps I have already. Thanks, Kimberly & FQS for another great idea!

    To prevent "duck seams" if you lay your strip flat, then slip the seam up just a little so you can see the seam. Then run your fingernail down the seam from end to end, it finger presses the seam to one side of the seam line. You can then press and you have a neat seam without the "duck" or "tucked" area in the seam line. (I hope that made sense. :) )

    Hi love your video such a great project. Would love to make one but I have just a small wall Spice. Is there a way to make it smaller? Thank you 💚

    • @lazare62
      @lazare62 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I guess you mean "a small wall space"!
      I made a smaller version: once quilted and bound (I'm not quite there yet) my wall hanging should measure about 28 by 28 inch.
      I used 2 1/2 by 4 1/2 inch green rectangles (instead of 4 1/2 by 8 1/2 inch) and used 2 1/2 inch strips for the background. The background rectangles for the centre of the wreath were 5 1/2 by 2 1/2 inch (you need two of these) and 8 1/2 by 4 1/2 inch. My wreath ended up 24 1/2 by 24 1/2 inch. I then added a 2 1/2 inch wide border all around.
      Kimberly, thank you for the great patterns, tutorials and videos!

    I just started this pattern but I want to make it smaller. So I am using a jelly roll and cutting the width in half. Sort of. I am more of looking at a table topper or hanging on the door size.

    God, I love that Juki... I have a BL Unity, but I'm thinking of getting that Juki, too. Freaking LOVE this wall hanging! I love summertime Christmas sewing. It feels like you might be ready by the time December rolls around. (I never am, but it gives you that illusion.)

  • @christinachang740

    A trick that I've figured out to not get duck pleats is to lay your piece out, then spread your fingers along the top edge and gently roll/push the top towards the outside and the bottom and top will even out and you'll get a nice crisp edge. This essentially holds the bottom fabric while pushing out the seam out all the way. I'm neurotic and pulling the seam with my finger didn't get it out and even as I would like. Hope that made sense! Love your videos and the itry bitty letter/number markers....love them! Used them for the first time recently and it was so nice not having to double check what piece goes to what.
