Lovely ‘cushion cover’, & beautiful fabric! Thank you for a great tutorial.
Btw where I come from a ‘pillow’ is something we sleep on at night whilst in bed & usually covered by a ‘pillow slip’.
Cushion covers, like the one you demonstrated, are used on cushion inserts & referred to as simply ‘cushions’, & used as decorative items on lounges, sofas, armchairs, & beds.

I'm heading to the sewing room to look at my jelly roll left overs to see what I can put together. Like the envelope backing, also have looked up Sherri McC tutorials on putting in a zipper for pillow backs like her way on that too. Thank You, it gave me something to sew on this weekend. I love your hair! Emma did an amazing job. I am so glad you turned your fabric around ... I was twitching! So many times people don’t think there is anything special with the fabric, so it doesn’t matter which way it goes. Lots of fabric also have pattern lines, and if you don’t stitch straight, it really shows! Hope all is well with you, your family, and fQS family too! Stitch on!

The pillows at the store were 15 to 18 dollars and I thought not even as pretty as the fabric of water melon, flamingos, and roosters and an aqua checks(cause I love aqua so much). And I had plenty of strips left that I can make the one you did. Oh it turn out do pretty and it looks easy to make. Thanks.

This is such a cute project! I have to say, though, whatever machine she's using has a terrible high-pitched whining sound! That would suck some joy out of sewing for me.

Hi Betsy, the machine sounds that way on camera but not so much in real life 😊

    Do you starch your precuts?

i get that Kimberly struggles with the math for the back of the pillow fabric, but after she cut and got her pieces (with the "lot of waste" on the sides) why didn't she measure the pieces after to give people an idea of the size of pieces for the back? not everyone has a budget for that much waste for a pillow project. :-(

Maybe FQS can add a notation in the description under the video 😊

Jelly rolls must be cheap as chips in the US ! Did I miss the back seam is it really just two pieces of fabric ?

Hi G T! The back seam is two pieces of fabric, folded in half to create a finished edge where they overlap.

I gave up halfway through ironing the strips in half. It’s not necessary to show her ironing all her them - 3 or 4 is enough to illustrate the process.

Great pillow and tutorial. I cringed when I saw all that waste, you could have made another pillow if you cut more carefully. But then I don’t have a fabric shop.

It may be quick but I can’t stand the wastefulness.

Surely you could have someone help you with the math???? Perhaps one of your children?
