  • During the ARB Prescribed Exam workshop we organised in September 2023 in Nottingham, a former ARB Prescribed Exam examiner gave a talk to the attendees and explained the most common mistakes he saw during the 7 years he sat on the jury. These were also mistakes I made and caused me in part to fail the ARB Prescribed Exam back in 2018. In this video, I summarise them for you so that you can avoid them in your own submission and increase your chances of passing the exam.
    Chapters:
    00:00 Introduction
00:39 Mistake 1: a lack of organisation and referencing
03:53 Mistake 2: underestimating the value of written work
05:44 Mistake 3: Misinterpreting the criteria
    08:18 Conclusion

Thanks so much for your videos Sara, they're a bright guiding light in the chaotic world of ARB Prescribed exams. I eagerly await your new content on ARB Exam tips as I currently prepare my Part 1 & 2 exam portfolio - As an Architectural Graduate from India working in a Landscape Architecture office in UK, it would be great to receive some tips on best practices for providing evidence on GC 10.1,10.2,10.3 and more importantly GC 11.1,11.2,11.3 as there isn't much information available on the internet at all due to Intellectual property confidentiality. Looking forward to a lot more content on your channel, and hopefully some that help tackle the professional practice criteria. Thank you !

Thank you for your comment! I am so glad the videos are helping! You are right, there’s not much out there about professional criteria. It does help quite a lot when you can get work experience in an Architecture practice.

Hello! Unfortunately, no! You still need to take the exam for part 1 and then, once you’ve passed, you will need to take the exam again for Part 2.
