I hope Fisker has a win with this one. He's been in the game very long and definitely deserves the success.
Same. But I think he will. I don't like the evs on the market. But this one has my attention
As do I ….
Agreed. I don't think we or the world were ready for the Karma at the time of its release and admittedly we all remember some of the glaring design faults in that car. But I've always loved the brand ethos. If this comes to the states I'm absolutely going to consider it
Agree. The guy has paid his dues!
@@willcookmakeupshipping has already started in the states
My wife is selling her Tesla and buying a Fisker Ocean. Amazing! Great video.
You really think it will stay at that price, think again. They don't even make the car so makers and Fisker need to make profit or go bust
ah yes goyim, consoooom product. lol over the years at mass scale, the most sustainable use of these heavy non recycalable batteries that take a long time to make neutral in a crash fire, is to use the stuff in supercapacitor or minimal amount of battery (auxilarry battery) to power electric assited tiurbo for INNengine or freepiston sort of thing, mahle was tlaking about a recyclable electric motor and if magnets can be recycled, freepiston and NEVS in wheel electric motor sort fo thing would be just as sustinable and lot nicer . toyota also maybe coudl just use gr corolla 1.5 inline 3 across pretty much all cars. there could be a nice rear midengine compact 4 with the rear seat facin the rear to make driving not so boring anymore with more driver awareness and highest eevr scores in low chemical txocity, sustinability, crash saftey, low road wear, etc.... im not even done saying the things we could have. a silly half baked pretensious ironically named "suv" thing ir ev thing or hybrid thing or lousy 2.5 liter toyota sort of thing etc is not worth anyones money.
Hope it's good and Fisker don't go bust, like soon.
I don’t believe you lol I smell BS
This car is a good concept but it’s not proven yet for anyone to sell a Tesla to get this.
Me too. Cant wait to get rid of my maga mobile.
HA, the Leo DiCaprio joke. Love it.
Great video!
I thought it was about having a tash. Got a little chuckle. Then he landed the age punch line. Amazing.
😂
Just glad to see they’re getting on the road. Was worried for a minute
Those final stages are among the most treacherous. So good to see another new car brand make it to customer deliveries - few do!
Fisker aren't making it
The Fisker karma got on the road also… they didn’t stay on the road.
@@JackScarlett1 the majority of the vehicle is actually made by Magna, which is one of the largest auto parts manufacturers in the world, they’ve been in the business for decades. I actually was at a talk given by Frank Stronach back in the 90s when I was at university, probably should have paid more attention to what he was saying 😂
wont OUTSELL the model Y or FUD muck-e in USA or Tesla/BYD in CHYNA.
or Model Y in EU.
An eco friendly, long miles, quality, silent, power car 🚙 will be a success. No doubt
Will be fun to see who do it first 🙂👍
its not EFFICIENT , its built by MAGNA on a GAS platform.
So Jackie does have a better CO2 build +run than the new Volvo EX30? Which is similar compact SUV cost.
As long as it's not destined for private ownership. These big EVs are great as rentals, but not as massive hunks of metal occupying parking space for 99% of their life.
@@markplott4820 Are you certain? According to Fiskar, it is built on the Magna EV platform chassis.
Mine should arrive in a month or so. Can’t wait. Love the Leo dig, and pointing out the surfer on the roof. Not much use of that in Edinburgh maybe I’ll put a skier logo on mine.
On the battery size Fisker apparently wanted to get away from you have to have a drive to own an EV mentality, which is understandable. You can now fill your car up once a week like an ICE is the switch in perception he’s looking for. Also means I don’t need to rely on the rubbish charging network when in the Highlands. You’re also spot on about the software, it’s been released early to keep the company afloat due to delays. There are a number of promised features that won’t be available until later this year as OTA updates.
Congrats on your order. We've already booked an update video once the software gets sorted. Fisker are calm about the situation, they seem confident they'll have it up to speed very soon
@@JackScarlett1looking forward to that. You could drive mine round the lovely roads we have in the Borders when the OTAs come through. I suspect the real game changer from sustainability and cost to own perspectives will be the Pear. That won’t have a massive battery.
Western Australians, Queenslanders and remote Australians in the other states could definitely use that range and huge battery. I think it would do very well here if they can roll it out fast enough. 😊
Ps. Loving my new member badge even though I’m not new 😂 Finally!
As always a brilliant and fun video! Thanks for always giving so much love to the creations on this channel!
Finally! Thanks for reviewing the Ocean Jack! Awesome honest review 🙌🏽
Let's hope they make it with this one. It could be a big threat!
NOPE , Model Y #1 on EARTH. let that SINK in.
Competition is always good.
Forget Iowa & Idaho, Long range will be very important in Australia where you can easily be hours between towns when you leave any of the 5 major metro areas.
Amazing review, and amazing production quality. Your videos just keep getting better and better. Congrats!!
Absolutely amazing job with the review. Of all the reviews to date, this is the most well put together, educated, and enthusiastic reviews. I will celebrate this as a huge win with some areas to improve on the software! 🎉
Yes, and a beautiful haircut too.
700km would be great for rural parts of Australia, too. I did a road trip to Qld recently - 1100km each way and not much charging infrastructure on the back roads 😉
Fantastic Review Jack as always very informative, i have ONE on order, cant wait
So far nothing but good vibes for the Fisker! Every video I've seen is mega positive loving the vehicle..and owners are happy!
Really love the solar panel in the roof - makes so much sense to help combat the idle drain that goes with these high tech cars (and looks cool). Hopefully one day they can make a slightly scaled down model as this is still rather too big & heavy for my tastes
They're already developing the smaller car. Google "Fisker Pear"
Do you think that roof solar panel will EVER pay for itself in the UK?
They're making the Fisker Pear as their next vehicle. A scaled down, cheaper SUV that keeps a number of the same design cues as the Ocean. They've got a vehicle line up reveal on Aug 3rd I believe.
@@alexanderfarquhar2712 No i don't - but what features on a car ever do? Cars are always depreciating assets
I reckon that you would get about 8 miles a day at the absolute best out of it, maybe 2kWh? Or you could park in the shade and maybe save 2kWh in airconditioning consumption.
Thanks for acknowledging a use case for long range vehicles. Living in the western USA, I never feel comfortable with a 250 mile range for a weekend getaway . But 400…that is awesome.
This is an awesome, honest review of Fisker Ocean. Looking forward to driving one someday.
I really enjoyed the video! Very well done!
Jack I can’t imagine how palpably excited you were for this! 😂
So excited to see a relatively good value car with a 700km range. It will be a game changer for Australia. I’ve driven 500km return in a day for a work meeting. I dont the want to spend another 30-60 mins on the side of the road charging. Love our current EV. This is gonna be better.
Great review 👍
Finally a good reviewer with an Ocean review
So well thought out and such great attention to detail. Brilliant and beautiful 🌊❤
This is the EV I've been waiting for - huge battery and solar panel (solar makes so much sense on an EV, I know it doesn't add much charge, but it helps).
Big battery long range is ideal for me, as a retiree I like touring and in Australia I rack up many K's in a day on freeways. Also ideal for charging the battery on my emtb as well as plugging into home for extra storage. The bigger batt would also help with those who tow boats and caravans.
I used to run portable, power hungry equipment on lithium batteries, the smaller batts would only last two years but the larger ones I'd get 4 years out of, I feel the bigger the battery the longer they'll last.
C'mon Fisker, send some to Australia!
Even if the roof only gave you 1000 miles a year its still free energy you didn't have to pay for. Fisker has quoted 1500-2000
@@lol0609Except you did pay for it. It probably adds a couple thousand to cost of the car. Not to mention another thing to break. What do you gain from it? A few extra miles a day. It's just not worth it all with current technology.
It occurs to me, videos reviewing EVs should include what type of heat pumps they are using. Tesla seems to be leading the way providing a unit more efficient than others. This is important as heating and cool energy use is a major factor in EV driving. Also Miles/kWh is nice to know.
He did mention ~4 miles/kWh, which is decent for an EV of that size. But less than my Hyundai Ioniq 5.5 miles/kWh on mixed roads (spring/summer) with heat pump set up on AUTO mode. 😊
Great review and like how you highlight the sustainability message being the core to Fisker.
Jack - your reviews get better and better! Amusing in an understated, British way, quirky and informative. Drive carefully!
Looks like a buy, this car: love he buttons and layout tho’ a bit leery about those “tablelets they don’t inspire confidence that your snack won’t go all over your trousers right where the hot coffee hurts…….
Probably one of the best EV's I've seen.
The bigger battery is more useful then you understand, these will probably be used as tow vehicles and towing say an average size caravan around can reduce the range by 50%, plus not everyone has off road or home charging, this would only need charging up publicly once a month or once every couple of months.
The only gripe I have with this car is the lack of a machinal handbrake.
Yep, towing another good justification for that big batt. I miss mechanical handbrakes too, they're pretty much gone entirely from new cars now
@@JackScarlett1 The main reason to buy a 4x4 is to tow, or maybe I'm just showing my age.
I don't trust electronic handbrakes, even less on a big heavy car like this.
I've seen them fail too many times and I live on a hill, I mean on an ICE car you can leave it in gear or park if an auto, so it isn't the end of the world.
But an EV lacks a normal gearbox so you putting all your trust in a small electric motor to hold two tons worth of car.
Then you have the added weight of a caravan which is just temping fate.
Also I have had a brake line fail on me and I lost all braking at the time, the mechanical handbrake was the only thing that stopped me crashing.
If my car had one of those hateful electronic handbrakes I would've crashed for sure.
Also winter and also for keeping under 80% soc for long term durability cuts range. Reviews always understate this to promote EVs.
@@MrRaitzi The long range will sell better than they think.
It could be the best ev ever made with 450 miles and excellent battery life thats why i own so much of FSR stock this thing is gunna explode upwards soon. Company is a gold mine
Personally one of the best looking EVs I've seen. Disagree with Jack about the front end, I like it. Hate the slab plain boring front of many EVs, Polestar update for one.
Love the price as well.
👀 I'm looking seriously.
I was about to post exactly this. Front end looks great and reminds me of the Polestar before they ruined it for me personally.
Clean video. Great presentation. Awesome SUV. 🎉
Great review. The Ocean looks awesome!
I hope they grow as much over the coming years like Tesla did. This is at top of my list for my next vehicle. I would also mention that living in Colorado you can easily travel over 400 miles to get to an outside adventure or even for visiting far flung relatives.
Point taken, that big batt is certainly easier to understand with an American hat on
The phrase is "Top of the list to TEST for your next vehicle"...?
@@JackScarlett1 Even in Europe, if I'm driving to somewhere south of Paris from the Netherlands I have to plan much more carefully where to stop and charge with my ~300km highway range Leaf. And if you're
@@MadMetalMacho I've never had a problem finding Tesla Superchargers even in rural France. 3rd party chargers are quite common at most aire's also.
@@tsh4k Not saying it's impossible by any stretch of the imagination but having the luxury option to charge less is nice.
Very much enjoyed your review.... Thank you!🎉
Ah, here we go! This looks nice and practical, and I absolutely love the "plein-air" all windows open mode! Even the little windows in back open!
Honestly Fisker wasn't really on my radar, but they certainly are now. Not sure I'd jump on as an early adopter, but one of these with NACS in the US for ~$60k and that battery size seems like a serious contender.
had high hopes for this and BOOM Fisker has exceeded even my most optimisitic expectations. Cannot wait to get my hands on one!
A long waited review thank you! 🎉
Lot of respect for not using the boost mode. You must be a confuscian master.
I like it! I like the simplicity, the decent ride, the materials and the price of the shorter range model. I’ll probably hold out for the (rather stupidly named) Pear as it’s hopefully going to bring something new to the sub 30k EV game. Great review.
Love it and It might just be my next car.
My gawd man!
This was brilliantly done!! Thank you!
Brilliant brilliant brilliant review, ethos and car. Well done Jack well done Fisker. Hope it’s a huge success
Love the design from the outside , only thing I would change is the badge , needs to be darker to align with rest of trim. I can see an after market option for that being good
Agree - badge looks lame - and am sure there are more eco-friendly ways to badge it eg engraving.
Amazing car - am going to keep a close eye on Fisker going forward.
Also agree the badge needs to be changed to be more dark and not stick up so much either.
That leo joke got me good
;)
I’ve been skeptical about the Ocean for the past 3 years, but hopeful. I am actually stunned by how this car turned out in real life. Range, design, price, interior function, speed, California mode, sustainability, AND SO ON. I really cannot believe it, truly an amazing car. Henrik has finally done it after decades in the business. Congrats. 🎉
Hey Jack. Love your work 👍
Another fantastic review by Jack. I'm excited to see the Fisker Ocean in person - will there be one at Fully Charged Vancouver?
Someone sensible designed this car. I was missing those basic buttons.
Actual ranges are 243.75 and 392.86 mile respectively using the realistic EPA range estimate or the two battery options
Like it and the ethos, great presentation
I’ll be watching detailed test Reviews on this closer, as it could be on my first-ever EV Shortlist for next year / ‘25!
good choice!
Drive it and then drive a Rivian, Lucid, Polestar, VW, Audi, Nissan, Hyundai and lastly a Tesla. One of these is decades - literally DECADES in technology and production - beyond the others. I've driven them all EXCEPT for the Ocean (because it doesn't exist). I finally got tired of waiting for Fisker and made a purchase in December last year. So glad that I did because I don't like "chunky". Best of luck in your search 🙂
Sounds like a great towing car with the big battery, but sign me up for the smaller battery one! Looks ideal. Well done fisker
i could also do with the smaller battery, but in may only tow 1100 kg. And dont like its FWD with the small battery. Hope the do like Volvo and change to RWD.
I think I’m in love with both the Ocean and Jack! I could listen to him forever 😍😍😍
Nice. thanks for the interesting review
Finally, Fisker has a proper electric SUV. Awesome indeed.
Beautiful proportions on thay SUV my god.
Nice video! I'm looking forward to My Fisker Ocean One due in the next couple months.
Saw that E89 BMW Z4 in the parking lot as you were pulling out and even though I had to sell it for my Ocean One, made me miss it. Great review, can't wait for mine - thanks!
I live in Manitoba Canada. In this province, some of our cities are over 800kms apart. So a 700km EV would certainly not be excessive here. In fact, the sheer distance North-South is what's holding up adoption here.
I can't drive 800km with any gas car I have owned so far. Did it with a VW Golf MKV TDI 140hp and it barely made it
@victormdp it's not that there are no gas stations between those cities, but the small towns on that route are few and far between, with little incentive to install fast chargers unless they are publicly funded.
Well we're getting closer....the worry now will be the price as this thing has been promised at a very keen price for a long time. I hope they can deliver on that.
That front three-quarter view looks like a RR Evoque meets BMW i3. Not a bad thing, just familiar design language. The boot and back view is where it looks very unique and cool.
Fantastic car! Love that they have kept the solar panels on the top. I don't usually like SUV's but I do like this one.
Jack, great report. This is a good looking car, concerned about pricing though, adoption of EV faces a challenge with pricing and vendor markups
No vendor mark-ups for the Ocean. Direct purchase from the company only.
@@toddantony3606interesting! I really like the looks of this car, I’ll be watching to see how it does. The sticker price is a bit high for me when I do the conversion to Canadian dollars though.
"The average new car cost £39,308 in January this year, Auto Trader said, up from £27,305 half a decade earlier." So it's below average for any new car including ICE cars. That doesn't seem so expensive (at least in the UK) if we take that into consideration?
Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful!
Great review, very exciting car. Can't wait to drive the one I've ordered!
I've ordered mine looking forward to getting it!
The rear makes me think of Alfa Romeo. That certainly is no bad thing.
I would believe in their environmental aims if they had produced a modern-day ev equivalent of the Renault 4 but they made a ridiculously large suv with a larger than needed range meaning it has to lug around a huge battery...
hell yeah! Can't wait to test-drive it!
Great to see it! Hopefully it sells well!
A RHD version with the LFP battery would be very useful for those who need an SUV. I hope that this car succeeds. It deserves to. Thanks for the review. 🙂👍
No one ‘needs’ an SUV - people want an SUV and should be purchasing a smaller car instead
@@MancAlBvery few people need an SUV *
@@Undisputed_King no one.
If you need a car buy a hatchback
If you need space, buy an estate
If you need to go off road, buy a 4x4
@@MancAlB if you like in the UK, SUVs are too big. Everyone should have a hatchback here. In USA, there's people with large tall families who carry a lot of luggage regularly that need an SUV.

Refer to my above point - buy an estate (station wagon)
Thanks for very professional review.
Cannot understand how they can sell such large car - made in Austria at such prices.
Honestly I'm not sure either. Very impressive.
Think Fisker said the use standard parts where possible, that may help.
You can spend 2+bn on a factory or have an expert build the vehicle in one which already exists.
For a first vehicle that's probably a good idea?
(CoughLucidcough)
Great job! Thanks!
This car is well thought out and the styling is on point. Where Jack is wrong is the huge battery capacity he says is not needed. 100% we do. I drive from Birmingham to Switzerland regularly. I do not want to stop every hour. Secondly I live in an apartment with zero charging facilities. 9 aslo don't want to go to a public charger every couple of days. Thirdly Fisiker has vehicle to X I want all the variations and options that gives you Thank you for time ⌚🙏
This is looking quite very promising as an Practical EV, but I can’t help but notice surely they can fit another pane of Solar Panel on the bonnet, such a missed opportunity, as it could protentially add another theoretical yearly free charge of 1100+ km on top. Can’t wait.
Sure is good looking.
Great review as always! Good to see downsides highlighted - bit crazy no Android Auto or Apple Car Play, very surprised at this. And agree software needs to be amped up big time - poor software becomes very frustrating very quickly. Excited to see how things go though!
Did I just see Jack drive an SUV and love it?????
I hope this is coming to Australia. Will definitely be on my list to consider.
Love to see them tackle a small, simpler EV that is around £20k??
Great unbiased and informative review!

That did not go well did it
Looks great! Hoping the have a hit with this and can grow as a company with more models.
Looks amazing!!
Having no android auto will be a deal breaker for many. Otherwise a fantastic looking car with reasonable price.
Big battery is perfect for towing caravans, etc.
Great point
The extra range is also welcome for those that are towing caravans etc so they still have a usage range and the vehicle to load doubly so. Then there are those that want to drive to a skiing trip super quick and don't want to stop to charge. Both use cases that need addressing so more people can make the switch...well done Fisker and especially for their eco credentials!!!
Very nice!
A Fisker Ocean (entry-level) could really work for us, with its price point, towing capacity, etc. My only concern is whether it will ever make it to the UK, and what 'dealer' infrastructure will support it?
OK, so a quick google and it does appear that it is UK bound. But I still worry about the service options for a car from such a new car company ...
Everything makes sense with this car except lagging software, which is NOT that important in daily use after initial setup of things, but may be INFURIATING for some people IF they use it more often...
You are forced to interact with the infotainment mostly for everything, specially with the lack of CarPlay/Android
@@victormdp this car has physical buttons for essentials. It depends what people use a car for, I personally just drive to places (wow!) and listen to music, GPS if going to new places, that's it.
Very nice. Hard to fault it and I’m sure they will sell well.
Best review by far
Aah man, that entry level model has just overtaken the model y as my next car, in 2025. LFP as well! What was the charge rate on the smaller battery?
The phrase you're looking for is

It beggars belief that people "swear allegiance" to a product they haven't even seen in the flesh....
.
You don't even know the specs.
@@rogerstarkey5390 I care less about the specs and more about the practicality. Ultimately though it will come down to price, if its rarity means the second hand price holds up I won’t be buying
As a Canadian, I roll my eyes whenever a European tinks a car doesn't need that much range. People here might drive 70 km "one way" to work with nowhere to charge
Point taken!
Fellow Canadian here - There's also being prepared for emergencies. If you live in a somewhat remote area and a family member or friend needs to go to the hospital after you've gotten home from work and you're far away from both fast chargers and the care your loved one needs, you need a vehicle that can take them there (and possibly back) without needing to get a long L2 top up before leaving. There are reasons why so many Canadians have a rule of thumb of filling up at half a tank, especially in winter (which means keeping 250-450 km in reserve depending on conditions and the vehicle). Because even for gas cars, filling stations aren't always open when you need to go somewhere, and the wrong road blocked by an accident or bad weather can cause long detours, so you better have enough on board if needed.
If you want people in those circumstances to drive mostly electric, the car either needs a pretty large battery for a BEV, or a small by BEV standards, but still large by PHEV standards (>75 km hwy range for day to day with charging on both ends) with a gas range extender. And there haven't been many of the latter. Or, the unlikely future in the near to medium term of widespread on road wireless charging while driving. That'd enable smaller batteries, but require a heck of a lot of infrastructure.
@@seabreamAmbulances are for those situations. 70km one way trip to work is a quite long. But I know a couple of guys doing it here in Finland as well. EV is a very economical way to drive those long distance drives to work. Petrol cost 1.8€/litre so it is over 300€ per month for petrol and it is only drives to work with low consuming vehicle (like 6L/100km). It will be under 100€ / month with EV.
@@janivertanen maybe an ambulance if really severe, but here in the US it's often better to drive a loved one to the hospital if possible because you'll save more than $100 per minute, especially if you're kinda remote. But that's a whole other issue
Me laughing in 55km-one-way-5-days-a-week. Must be nice calling into work by shouting down the street😒.
My Chevy Bolt has 480km of range fully charged, and I still wish I had an extra 100km minimum. Range is key for North America. We are all super commuters and only getting worse with the skyrocketing housing market.
That being said, I do have an Alaska pre-ordered (CU0RLI - My referral code if you plan on ordering one), and the range quoted is a meager 300miles😢. I hope they'll have a ridiculous North American battery pack available.
Thanks for the review, what a fantastic car an I really do hope it is popular and we get to see the other cars in the Fisker pipeline soon. The PEAR looks like it could be perfect for Europe.
Exciting! Have a Sport trim on order. expecting delivery sometime in 2024.
