I made the Simply ginger beer and Simply mild last year. The mild was so good I started talking like Fred Dibnah for 10 minutes. Really got me in touch. With my working class roots! (though god knows who drilled a ladder on to my house). Would definitely recommend.
I love a decent cast bitter, but these days it's hard to find a pub that sells cask quick enough to guarantee that you get a fresh pint. It's a bit like Russian roulette. I know you can ask for a taster but being we don't tend to do that sort of thing😂 The malt miller are still doing the simply range with free brewing sugar. They've also got Easter discounts a lot of ingredients including spray malt and hops.🍻
This was my first extract kit, I've got three bottles left and I'm really enjoying it. First couple I wasn't sure but after 30 odd bottles it's fantastic. I like the idea of pimping it up 👍
Nige here, one day I will get round to pimping this up. I am sure this gets better the longer it is in the bottle. I have put the last 10 bottles of this batch aside to try once it has been a year in the bottle. A review next year!
The simply bitter is going onto my to do list now along with the simply mild. I,v just moved a batch of simply brown ale and the pale ale out into the garage to finish of conditioning🍺 only had a quick taste a couple of weeks back when bottling, and the brown ale was a very dark brown and had a rich taste. Looking forward to cracking one open in another fortnight👍 keep em coming lads, love tuning in to your vids. Cheers👍
Yorkshireman speaking here, Anders, you may need to reapply for your Yorkshire visa following your comments 😉. From my experience, I would define a Yorkshire bitter as a mid brown, not overly hoppy flavoured beer, sometimes on the edge of sweet, but balanced flavour overall, extremely sessionable, usually between 3.6-4.0%, medium to mid-high body/mouthfeel, thick creamy white head. If you have one, you feel like you want another.
I don't know what came over me! 🤪 I was at a beer fest recently and had the Barnsley Bitter front Acorn brewery (if I remember correctly). Best beer of the day, 3.8% with a slight caramel taste to it. Absolutely gorgeous.
I currently have 2 of the Simply Lager kits going, one fermenting and one conditioning. Fingers crossed I'll have a nice supply of cheap lager for the spring and summer.
Nice video guys ! Im curious to know if you or anyone have made any of the recipes that coopers have available on their site ? I am thinking of making the red ale recipe, or if you can recommend one please .
Nige here, no we haven't made any of the Coopers recipes, but it is a nice halfway house to get you into grain brewing. Sorry I can't recommend one, but a good starting point is to brew a beer you really like, if that is a red ale, go for it.

Nige here, I really have to do that mild, at the risk of the house being demolished.
