I'm going off you Gary: everytime I see you eat something half-decent, you make me hungry. Now I'm starving! That entire meal looked incredible: proper, authentic dishes, beautifully cooked, & they looked, at least on a par, with that Michelin starred curry shop you went to. It's certainly cheaper & you can bring in your own booze, too. What's not to like? I love garlic, so it's a 10/10 from me. Looking forward to your next video, mate, though I think I'll eat first? 👍 PS, just noticed you've topped 70K subs. Well deserved, here's to the next 70k 🍻
I've binged watched all your videos over the couple of weeks and I've finally caught up. I really enjoy your format and it's just nice to listen to and watch someone who isn't forcing interactions with their audience. Reading through the comments it's clear that the majority of your viewers just really appreciate your natural and genuine approach and no doubt it's been the key to the speed at which your channel has grown. It's been interesting to see the odd "troll" creep in as the algorithm has kicked in to suggest your channel to a wider audience, but I wouldn't pay them heed. All the best. I look forward to your future uploads.
I really appreciate you watching the videos that very very kind and appreciated, we have had some silly comments but it’s not a problem I try to be nice and that sometimes works 👌

Hi Gary, I live just around the corner at Harrow Place and been there many times. It's a place we go back to time after time, the food is impeccable, the service is impeccable and the prices are great for an up and coming area. First time I went there was in 1999 and it's still one of my favourites. We usually always sit upstairs as it a bit more quiet and relaxed on a weekday.I think I have had the whole fixed menu and I love it. If you go there once, you'll always go back, it's that good. I will always give them a 10 out 10 as it both nostalgic and fabulous food, so I am a bit biased. A huge congratulations on reaching 70k subs and for another fantastic review. If I knew you were in the area, I would have come down to say hello. Have a wonderful rest of your weekend and speak to you soon.
Excellent review Gary as always. I’ve noticed you haven’t reviewed any Caribbean restaurants on your show. There’s a fantastic place in Ealing Called The Turtle Bay where I go with family and friends during special occasions. It would be great for you to review the place I also recommend the Curried Goat with rice and peas. Have a great day.

Another excellent review, Gary. I've been visiting Tayyabs on and off since the early 80s when it was a Friday lunchtime trip from the City. Used to be a small place on the ground floor on the left but expanded into the two adjacent buildings. Usually go for a selection mixed grill to start followed by the Dry Meat (Tayyabs lamb signature dish) and the Saag paneer with a plain nan. Recently took an American friend visiting London a month ago and he loved it. Staff always efficient and friendly and there's an off licence next door for your drinks.
Thanks Gary, that place looks incredible, as does the food and those prices are equally incredible. Definitely a 10 from me, and well done on over 70k subscribers too!

Hi Gary Another super review. That looked really good and I would have given it 9/10 as well Agree you always need rice with Indian curries as it seems something is missing as you don’t and I always have a plain Nan because a garlic one can over compete with all the other flavours. Definitely enough for 2 there with those amazing looking lamb chops being the star of the show. Congrats on reaching 70 thousand subscribers mate!
Another top video Gary Chops looked amazing quality and presentation looks 5 star and sensible prices for London I’m a fan of being able to bring your own drinks ❤
Yet again what a good find in London Gary. Reasonable price for the area and some really good meal items. The chops were the star, only slight downside was the sag aloo which is my go to veg dish. Congrats on reaching 70K subscribers.
Gary I watch all your video & this is the first time I have actually been to the place! What was more strange was that I sat just behind where you sat. Great place . It should of been a 10 as you can take in your own drink without a charge.
Another tasty upload Gary, the food looks fantastic. I have to say Gary that I really like your jumper. If that was on your merchandise list with the slogan " I do love my mushrooms " I would buy it.
Congrats on passing the 70k mark, mate. Been watching you from the very beginning, and couldn’t be happier about your success. Another great review. Cheers, Gary!
Ooh, those chops looked amazing. Great value too as you’d only normally get a couple of small chops for a tenner. I do love a good curry, and that looked like a great meal from there. Great review Gary. Can’t wait for the next one.
I love any restaurant that only charges corkage, so you can bring your own wine. I'm not a drinker, but often I'm with people who do and it makes for a merrier party all around. The food looked blooming delicious even on the menu. And just droolworthy when it arrived at table. Wow! I'm giving it a 10/10 based on the look of the food and the feel of the restaurant and I hope to eat there soon to check things out for myself! Great review!
(456) My minimalist order: One veg Samosa; Saag Paneer, Tandoori Nan. Really good food deserves to be enjoyed; completely empty plates and serving dishes are the greatest compliment a chef can get. Super upload, Gary. Glad you found the lamb chop love of your life!!!
Oh, that brought back mouth-watering memories. I lived down the road in Stepney Green in the early Noughties and Tayyabs was the place to go for a great Indian meal. Never ever saw it as quiet as it was for your visit! Always a massive queue, but worth the wait. Fantastic food and very reasonably priced. I used to go to a gym nearby and always remember during Ramadan the Muslim lads would come in and do their workouts in the early evening. They were all starving because they hadn't eaten all day, so as soon as the sun went down they'd be out of there and over to Tayyabs to refuel!
Another solid review Gary. A fair score, nice to know these places are available. The lamb chops looked top drawer and terrific value (if I go there I will order two lamb chop starters). I never order rice, more attracted by naan or chapatti, all personal, all selfish. By the way, you got a mention on Simply Whitby today. Maybe you should reach out to Simon on that channel, I suggested this before you visited Whitby but you didn’t (and I didn’t expect that you would). Maybe you should now. All the best. David
Thank you David, great lamb chops for sure and I will speak with Simon next time we visit Whitby and did notice on his video him and the customers talking about the video we done so that’s really appreciated 👍
OH MY GOD, TAYYABS finally, you are great Sir Gary, really appreciated ♥♥♥ Its abs packed packed after 6PM. THIS IS DEFO my fave video. Everything Sizzles there. The LAMB is marvellous. The only warning everyone is that you may need to Dry Clean your apparel next day LOL ♥♥♥
Yes, def one of the gems of east London, well known with the city workers, like you said always packed to the rafters each evening. You can never go wrong with Tayyabs !
Gary excellent review. The food looked good especially the Lamb Chops.............Lamb and Beef are my two favorite proteins and I would have been happy with the chops as my meal. Enjoy your Weekend........Cheers.
That looked awesome Gary, congratulations on the 70k m8 i remember saying congratulations when you hit 10k not long and you will hit the 100k, keep up the good work sir and thank you.
Hi Gary, Through watching your channel, we went to Tayyabs, to celebrate my Birthday, as the food looked so fantastic, and it was. I had those lamb chops, along with the chicken tikka masala, with pilau rice. All was fantastic. As an earlier in the day treat, we also visited Goddards Pie & Mash shop in Greenwich, which I also really enjoyed. You can imagine by the end we were completely stuffed, but very content. Many thanks for all the reviews you do, as I will be trying other restaurants you have given the thumbs up. Regards John
You may also want to try the Lahore Kebab House. You can see it from Tayyabs, its straight south, down the end of the road (Myrdle Street). Its not as swanky with blue lighting etc. Looks really basic from outside (and inside!) but I think it beats Tayyabs in flavour and cost. However, I will defer to you if you ever decide to visit. I very much recommend it. I have lived in Spitalfields and Shadwell for over 20 years and I have been to Tayyabs twice but went to the Lahore Kebab House so many times, I can't even count. Despite the name, it doesn't sell the usual Kebabs (no doners etc). Look at the menu. My favourites were: Grilled Lamb Chops (starter) Chicken tikka (starter) Seekh kebab (starter) Karahi Chicken Methi Gosht Nihari (Lamb Shank in sauce) My other half always went for the Butter Chicken which is good but I prefer the Karahi but that's just personal preference. I usually went for the Butter Nan but the other bread are all fresh and good. Please give this place a go. Its not pretty and has a canteen feel to it but the food is good and that's all I can recommend.
I went to Tayyabs many years ago and loved it. As a teacher in East London, lots of my asian pupils recommended it to me and I wasn't disappointed. Top quality food and a great atmosphere. Unless it's changed since I went there, you can't book a table so the queues to get in can be vast. You got there early which is to be advised. Also, it didn't have a licence to serve alcohol so you had to bring your own to drink. May be different now. Anyway, great video 'as always' Gary. I was salivating over those lamb chops. Mmmmmmm!
Wow those Lamb chops super impressed me Gary....those and a Naan would fill me up ..and yes their was enough food for two.Certainly a place to put on my list.....will be dreaming those Lamb Chops for a very long time mmmm😊
Hi Gary fantastic review as always I never had a Curry but your review I'm going to try one this week nan bread I'd like as you say to much garlic I do like garlic lamb chops looked beautiful the one one thing that made my day your in Whitechapel I'm a historical historian on jack the ripper as always let's give it a go bless you and cameraman
I love Tayyab’s. I see people complain that it’s not as good as it used to be, but I feel that it’s just as good as the first time I visited 20 years ago. Better, actually, since it’s so much bigger than it was then. On my first visit (it was half the size in those days) the line to be seated snaked around and through the dining room.
Oh my goodness Gary, that is some superb curry house. The price is very reasonable for such superb food, garlic Naan, chicken, rice, you were indeed in heaven. I am off to England to my daughter( real fish and chips) look forward to seeing where you have been when I come back. Stay as happy as you always are.
I watched this at teatime Gary and guess what ?..yes I wanted yet another curry after watching review. Amazing lamb dish - mind you I liked the lot ! Appreciate you can’t always do Indian reviews but they are my favourites , keep up the good work Gary.
Congratulations on reaching 70k subscribers, Gary!!! Richly deserved. I think you're guilty of giving out some tough love here. It's a definite 10 out of 10 from me every day. Given that you doled out a ton of your trademark Gary "WOW's" during the course of the video, as well as a load of "I'm impressed" throughout, I was shocked at your overall 9 out of 10. Come on Gary, let's give Tayyabs a 10 for the Lamb Chops, the Chicken Korahi and especially as there was no service charge. 😊
True Gary, that place deserves a visit just but not only the lamb chops. They are really incredible and for me, 9,95 quid is a plus. All in all those 41 quid should feed easily 2 guys. Congrats mate for this one🤙
Another top notch, mouth-watering review, Gary. I'm just amazed that you are not 25 stone at this rate! Must be doing lots of running between those restaurants 😅.
Saved a few videos to watch with my Dad for when I'm down his, We always love watching them, and we've even gotten my daughter to enjoy watching them! Those lamb chops?? Phwoar, yummy!! Great video! Become an absolute favourite!❤
Well, I’m in London next week and not far from Whitechapel so I guess this will be on my agenda! Another inspiring vlog delivered in a highly professional manner as always Gary! 😊
Firstly congratulations on getting to 70K subscribers well deserved Gary. The restaurant and the meal looked top notch and for London I would say its great value for money but you will know better.
Great video thanks Gary. Did you know the original spelling of curry was “Kari” which referred to the sauce. Good value for money at that price. Glad you enjoyed it. 😊
Kari is actually a yellow coloured vegetarian dish made from yogurt, chickpea flour and spices. You can add potatoes and onions in it or pakoras which is Punjabi style, or Gujarati style which is a thinner version with just garlic and spices.
Great review Gary - I kinda agree with the 9/10 but probably wanted to give it 10/10 based on the chops alone as you did. But I think this is quite a sensible score - there is so much more to discover at that place and I am sure you will be back again! Mark.
Firstly congratulations on 70k 🎉 Where do I start ? That lamb ! What a portion ! On a skillet too 👌🏼 The saag aloo and chicken on the bowls they’d have been cooked on. 10/10 from me Gary
Stab me vitals Gary, those lamb chops looked incredible: and what marvellous value for money the whole meal was. Another restaurant to consider visiting or treating relatives to as a Christmas gift.
Great environment, great service, no service charge, top food, good portions, should have been a 10. Nothing could be faulted. You cannot really complain about garlic being on the garlic naan. I have been to many places where the garlic naan did not have enough garlic so it is a good change from the norm.
@GaryEats its just a tourist trap these days. It hasn't been any good for about 20 years now. Definitely better areas in the vicinity to eat, which is where the locals eat.
It all looks great Gary!

Congrats on reaching 70 thousand subscribers mate!
Thanks Tony 👍
Another top video Gary Chops looked amazing quality and presentation looks 5 star and sensible prices for London
I’m a fan of being able to bring your own drinks ❤
It’s a great idea Andrew
Great review, Gary.
I have always wanted to try this place.
The lamb chops looked fab!
Adam go on give it a go lol 😂
Brilliant as always, Gary, and Indian food is on my top list!
Thank you that’s really kind
Yet again what a good find in London Gary. Reasonable price for the area and some really good meal items. The chops were the star, only slight downside was the sag aloo which is my go to veg dish. Congrats on reaching 70K subscribers.
Thank you very much Richard I took a point off for the sag aloo 👍
Gary I watch all your video & this is the first time I have actually been to the place! What was more strange was that I sat just behind where you sat. Great place . It should of been a 10 as you can take in your own drink without a charge.
I’m pleased you know it well Andy an excellent restaurant
Another tasty upload Gary, the food looks fantastic. I have to say Gary that I really like your jumper. If that was on your merchandise list with the slogan " I do love my mushrooms " I would buy it.
Unfortunately it’s not John sorry and thank you
Congrats on passing the 70k mark, mate. Been watching you from the very beginning, and couldn’t be happier about your success. Another great review. Cheers, Gary!
I really appreciate you still watching and supporting the channel over all this time thank you very much
9 out of 10. Massive place. Looks really nice. Another excellent and very entertaining video. Thank you for your fab video.
That’s so kind thank you very much
Ooh, those chops looked amazing. Great value too as you’d only normally get a couple of small chops for a tenner. I do love a good curry, and that looked like a great meal from there. Great review Gary. Can’t wait for the next one.
Thank you Steve unbelievable chops WOW
Got to be THE biggest lamb chops I have ever seen. That food looks absolutely delicious ❤
I agree totally amazing
I love any restaurant that only charges corkage, so you can bring your own wine. I'm not a drinker, but often I'm with people who do and it makes for a merrier party all around. The food looked blooming delicious even on the menu. And just droolworthy when it arrived at table. Wow! I'm giving it a 10/10 based on the look of the food and the feel of the restaurant and I hope to eat there soon to check things out for myself! Great review!
No corkage fee here which is excellent and great lamb chops, finally thank you so very much 👌
(456) My minimalist order: One veg Samosa; Saag Paneer, Tandoori Nan. Really good food deserves to be enjoyed; completely empty plates and serving dishes are the greatest compliment a chef can get. Super upload, Gary. Glad you found the lamb chop love of your life!!!
Saag paneer (Palek paneer) ....channa masala...daal makni .....chicken vindaloo....rice...raita....naan (roti) ...and a kingfisher beer (or 2) to wash it down...😉
Great choice and this one I really enjoyed 👍
Oh, that brought back mouth-watering memories. I lived down the road in Stepney Green in the early Noughties and Tayyabs was the place to go for a great Indian meal. Never ever saw it as quiet as it was for your visit! Always a massive queue, but worth the wait. Fantastic food and very reasonably priced.
I used to go to a gym nearby and always remember during Ramadan the Muslim lads would come in and do their workouts in the early evening. They were all starving because they hadn't eaten all day, so as soon as the sun went down they'd be out of there and over to Tayyabs to refuel!
I did go very early Justyn and I know how busy it gets especially in the evening 👌
I’d give that a 10 , Gary! Looked great, I wish that the tv had smellavision!!
It was amazing 👌
A very good comment as you’re aware it can get very busy especially weekends
Been the teyab a few times really good food and reasonably priced. The mango lasees are absolutely amazing
It's fantastic here Mattie
Gary excellent review. The food looked good especially the Lamb Chops.............Lamb and Beef are my two favorite proteins and I would have been happy with the chops as my meal. Enjoy your Weekend........Cheers.
Thank youn Daniel and I hope you had a great weekend
That looked awesome Gary, congratulations on the 70k m8 i remember saying congratulations when you hit 10k not long and you will hit the 100k, keep up the good work sir and thank you.
Thank you very much Jason it’s staggering to be honest 👍
Another great honest review, im more of a fish and chips bird but that did look very good, thanks Gary and camera man
Thank you Debbie this was very very good
Hi Gary,
Through watching your channel, we went to Tayyabs, to celebrate my Birthday, as the food looked so fantastic, and it was.
Regards
John
That is fantastic to hear, John and thank you so much for letting me know
On looks alone and your comments, this review is now in my top 5, the lamb chops were definitely a 10+
Brilliant chops Chris absolutely top drawer
My favourites were:
Grilled Lamb Chops (starter)
Chicken tikka (starter)
Seekh kebab (starter)
Karahi Chicken
Methi Gosht
Nihari (Lamb Shank in sauce)
My other half always went for the Butter Chicken which is good but I prefer the Karahi but that's just personal preference.
I usually went for the Butter Nan but the other bread are all fresh and good.
Please give this place a go. Its not pretty and has a canteen feel to it but the food is good and that's all I can recommend.
I’m going to Lahore very soon as I know it well 👌
@@GaryEats Excellent sir! Really enjoy your reviews. Honest and fair. Thanks for your good work!
This was great, many thanks for taking us along Gary 👍
That’s very kind and appreciated Nigel 👍
I went to Tayyabs many years ago and loved it. As a teacher in East London, lots of my asian pupils recommended it to me and I wasn't disappointed. Top quality food and a great atmosphere. Unless it's changed since I went there, you can't book a table so the queues to get in can be vast. You got there early which is to be advised. Also, it didn't have a licence to serve alcohol so you had to bring your own to drink. May be different now. Anyway, great video 'as always' Gary. I was salivating over those lamb chops. Mmmmmmm!
You can definitely book now and it’s still BYO so makes it cheaper 👌
He’s strong to the finish coz he eats his spinach , he’s TH-cam’s best food review man!
lol that very kind Dave thank you
I remember when tayyabs was tiny, used to go all the time! now theyve expanded and its always so busy!
It's massive, I was shocked. What do you usually go for?
That looked to be an excellent Indian restaurant with the lamb chops being the highlight.I am envious and would give it a solid 9.5
Thank you Paul it well worth a visit especially for the chops
Wow those Lamb chops super impressed me Gary....those and a Naan would fill me up ..and yes their was enough food for two.Certainly a place to put on my list.....will be dreaming those Lamb Chops for a very long time mmmm😊
Me too Geoffrey they tasted sooooo good 👍👍
The Alan Partridge of food reviews. I do like them though the Rules one was really good
Thank you I think Dennis lol 😂
Hi Gary fantastic review as always I never had a Curry but your review I'm going to try one this week nan bread I'd like as you say to much garlic I do like garlic lamb chops looked beautiful the one one thing that made my day your in Whitechapel I'm a historical historian on jack the ripper as always let's give it a go bless you and cameraman
You’ll love this Shane choose carefully and the area has a very checkered history 👌
Hi Gary, congrats on passing 70k….onwards and upwards mate!
Thank you so much
I love Tayyab’s.
You have a fantastic trip and regards to your daughter Anne see you soon 👌😊
I watched this at teatime Gary and guess what ?..yes I wanted yet another curry after watching review. Amazing lamb dish - mind you I liked the lot ! Appreciate you can’t always do Indian reviews but they are my favourites , keep up the good work Gary.
That’s very kind Dave and if I could I’d eat them all the time my favourite
Yes, another Gary Eats. Best food/restaurant review channel around
Thank you very much 👌
Will give that a try soon! Excellent as always, Gary. 100k will be just around the corner for you - well deserved!
That’s very kind 5hank you and definitely worth a visit
You're still the most down to earth, honest, quirky foodie on here Gary. Love your channel.
That’s very kind to say thank you so very much
When I saw those lamb chops, my saliva glands exploded. The whole meal looked outstanding and great value for money.
I fully agree 💯
Congratulations on reaching 70k subscribers, Gary!!! Richly deserved.
I think you're guilty of giving out some tough love here. It's a definite 10 out of 10 from me every day. Given that you doled out a ton of your trademark Gary "WOW's" during the course of the video, as well as a load of "I'm impressed" throughout, I was shocked at your overall 9 out of 10.
Come on Gary, let's give Tayyabs a 10 for the Lamb Chops, the Chicken Korahi and especially as there was no service charge. 😊
Thank you Graham that’s much appreciated, I did give it 10 🌟 for the lamb chops however the sag aloo was the point deduction 👍
True Gary, that place
deserves a visit just
but not only the lamb
chops. They are really
incredible and for me,
9,95 quid is a plus.
All in all those 41 quid
should feed easily 2
guys. Congrats mate
for this one🤙
Thank you very much Paul this is definitely one I’ll visit again and again
Thanks again for a great review .Lamb chops are a favourite of mine . They looked amazing . I’ll try to cook them like that at home .
I hope it’s perfect Simon go on give it a go 👌
@@GaryEats ha ha 😂
Another top notch, mouth-watering review, Gary. I'm just amazed that you are not 25 stone at this rate! Must be doing lots of running between those restaurants 😅.
lol I’m doing plenty of exercise 😳😊🤣
Saved a few videos to watch with my Dad for when I'm down his, We always love watching them, and we've even gotten my daughter to enjoy watching them!
Those lamb chops?? Phwoar, yummy!! Great video! Become an absolute favourite!❤
That’s really appreciated and very kind Bethany the lamb chops ….hold me back lol x
Amazing thank you for going love curry video price spot on for that food. I will dream about them lamb chops
Me too Daniel
Well, I’m in London next week and not far from Whitechapel so I guess this will be on my agenda! Another inspiring vlog delivered in a highly professional manner as always Gary! 😊
That’s very kind and definitely worth a visit especially for the lamb chops
Nice video Gary. You should have asked them if they serve Phaal and then you could have given it a go. Lol. The lamb chops looked delicious.
Micheal never again lol 🥵
Great, well rounded review again, Gary. Well done, mate.
Thank you very much Adam 👌
Brilliant video as always. 3000 views in the first 30 minutes after posting it. Legend :)
That’s very kind and appreciated
Firstly congratulations on getting to 70K subscribers well deserved Gary. The restaurant and the meal looked top notch and for London I would say its great value for money but you will know better.
Thank you Douglas, I only marked down due to the cost of the sag aloo
CONGRATULATIONS GARY 70.1 SUBSCRIBERS AMAZING
Cheers 🍻 Kevin thank you
Ooohhhhhh……..my favourite! My mouth is watering, and SO wish I was sharing it with you! It looks fabulous!
This was really special amazing lamb chops
"it's very deep and...green"
Reminds me of a bad night in Bristol.
Bless her.
lol very good Pauline
4K a go go. Super sharp video here. Great review as always. 70.2K subscribers!!!! Congrats. Building every video!
Very kind and appreciated 👌👍
Great video thanks Gary. Did you know the original spelling of curry was “Kari” which referred to the sauce. Good value for money at that price. Glad you enjoyed it. 😊
Thanks for the information Alan I didn’t know that
Kari is actually a yellow coloured vegetarian dish made from yogurt, chickpea flour and spices.
Mark.
I’ll be definitely going back Mark 👌
Firstly congratulations on 70k 🎉
Where do I start ? That lamb ! What a portion ! On a skillet too 👌🏼
The saag aloo and chicken on the bowls they’d have been cooked on.
10/10 from me Gary
Thank you Dan, I took one off for the sag aloo price as you could get the lamb chops for exactly the same price
Stab me vitals Gary, those lamb chops looked incredible: and what marvellous value for money the whole meal was. Another restaurant to consider visiting or treating relatives to as a Christmas gift.
That’s a great idea as they won’t be disappointed
Great environment, great service, no service charge, top food, good portions, should have been a 10. Nothing could be faulted. You cannot really complain about garlic being on the garlic naan. I have been to many places where the garlic naan did not have enough garlic so it is a good change from the norm.
I took the point off for the cost of the sag aloo 👍
Thank you Gary, for an excellent review. This is the first time I've seen empty tables at Tayyabs.
My pleasure and yes luckily when in the evening
Lets Give it a Go is now over 70.5K !!! Well done. Please try City Spice Brick Lane next ?
City Spice is awful. Bland, small portions and overpriced. Probably worst indian/bengali food I have ever had.
Thank you. I'll give Brick Lane a miss as I had a very bad experience there a few months ago
@GaryEats its just a tourist trap these days. It hasn't been any good for about 20 years now. Definitely better areas in the vicinity to eat, which is where the locals eat.
@@donnienlefty Where would you recommend please? Thank you
Well done Gary . Ended up starving looking at this review . Nice one . 😂
My apologies Jim but what great chops
Them lamb chops looked like pure heaven Gary
I agree Nicola pure indulgence
Thanks for another honest review. Food looked good! I'd give the whole thing a 10!
Great score Pauline
