Fitment Industries I’ve driven both. Currently have the fiesta and I’m loving the handling, I just wish that the aftermarket was bigger for them. I love the focus because it has a lot more room on the inside. Personally they’re both amazing and I highly recommend them for anyone wanting to get a hot hatch.
I drove both, i bought the fiesta. Its just a much more fun feeling car. Its slower than its big brother stock but the aftermarket is always right there 😁
I'm 48 years old and test drove one of these on a whim 2 years ago on a twisty mountain road. 3 months later I sold the Miata I'd owned for 20 years, bought a Fiesta ST and have won a (and going to predict a second one, here) SCCA Class (local) AutoX championship. It has literally changed my life. It is the very best commuter car you could ever hope for. It's always exactly at the speed you want to be going and you can drive the little bean at 10/10ths EVERYWHERE and never catch a cops eye. Oh, and 26-35mpg? Yes, please.
Haha cops hate mine for some reason here😅 I rarely speed, like 1-3 mph over. But I get pulled over all the time compared to the trucks here that go 15-20 over regular
I am IN the UK and have owned one for four days. I am 45 years old and previously drove Fiesta 1.6 diesel, which was adequate for my needs. This is my affordable mid life crisis "motorbike on four wheels", I love it, but my wife hates it, so far, but she hasn't driven it yet and says that she might like to try it, so there's a little demon in her somewhere
The Fiesta ST doesn't need much to improve it's already fun demeanor, all you need is a upgraded Rear Motor Mount, Drop in air filter upgrade and some nice sticky tires. Now if you want to go a little beyond that, get a bigger FMIC, Cobb AP, step colder spark plugs and a E30 tune from Stratified or Dizzy, next thing you know you're making 320lb/tq in a 2,700lb car. Easy (according to my own experience over 3 years and 60k kilometers as a daily): 1. Proper adjustable coilover suspension (e.g. ST XTA) 2. upper and lower strut braces 3. PU bushings for engine, transmission and exhaust mounts 4. lighter wheels in 16" or 17" with semi slicks 5. Quaife LSD 6. 3.5" sports cat + 2.5" exhaust system 7. proper remap (e.g. Peron Stage 2 Pro for 98 octane) (In that order!) Against common belief: At this power (~210 whp) you do not necessarily need to upgrade your intercooler or change the airbox; save the money and spend it on one of the above. I autocross mine and heat soak has never been an issue.
As a fiesta driver I agree. It handles better than the focus, is miles ahead in reliability than the RS, and is just as fun as a miata. It's pretty easy to do FBO, Big Turbo, and tune and push 3xx WHP. Majority of tuned fiestas these days are doing that. Oh yeah and it weighs under 2800 pounds. Imagine a 2800 pound 320 WHP hatchback...that's what makes this car so amazing the power to weight ratio even stock is stooooooooopid good. I recommend everyone test drive one and take the on ramp to a highway at 60 mph. You will smile your ass off. Been smiling for the last 2.5 years
At 35 years old I just purchased my first Fiesta ST (2015 model) a week ago and I'm having way more fun in it than I ever had on my Street Triple! Why didn't I buy one years ago?! Edit: and it's completely stock!

if i had to recommend tuning options for the Fiesta then it would be bolt-ons, stock turbo, with an ethanol. you keep the stock spool time but with all the low-mid power that makes this car so much fun. i didn't do that and i love the satisfaction that comes with pulling on cars in 3rd and 4th gear that should be much faster but in retrospect i know that i would have had just as much satisfaction with a lot less money invested.
@@cdwag23 stock turbo is gonna poop out at 5200 no matter what fuel you use. my hybrid turbo tops out at redline. to put that in perspective, i just pulled on a new STI in 3rd and 4th gear a few days ago. i'm about as fast as the last gen 5.0s and all it cost was about 5k in mods.
No they actualy have it even the focus st BUT its porbably ST3 fully loaded option is only avaible. The base models dont have it. I have a a 2013 Focus ST3 fully loadex and yes it does actualy have slip defferential. I drove many times hard and agressive and I see the light blinking and tires make alot of noise than bome I take off leaving tire marks 😂. So yes they have it but its a extra option or package for sure.
@@totov7673 Not hey don't have it, doesn't matter if it's the 1 or 3 package. You can look this up and verify it with people, we pay a lot of money to get an LSD put into our cars. The new Fiesta for 2020 they released in the UK that is a 3cyl does come with it, all other STs do not. The torque vectoring is what they have and it is basically a computer simulated LSD that uses the braking system, it does this very well.
I have a '15 and it's honestly the best and most fun car I've ever owned. Zero issues besides a tear in the CV axle. Just an absolute blast to drive. I made fun of these little cars until I drove one for the first time and my mind was instantly changed. Legendary hatch that USA Ford has sadly given up on. RIP.
I just bouth a 2018 Fiesta ST. My daughter has a 2019 and I joined the club. Mine is Orange Spice and I LOVE it. I'm 60 and I used to own a 72 Camaro RS and this might be my favorite car that I've owned.
dude, this car tunes so well too. the stock turbo with bolt-ons and an e40 tune is as much power and fun as you would ever need in a car and it would put you at the same price as a FoST or WRX. i went with a hybrid turbo and a lot of other stuff cuz i was chasing numbers but it really isn't necessary to maximize the fun of this car.
Here in italy they're super popular. I understand why you guys don't have as many since you're roads are bigger and if you have anything under 300whp it feels like walking. But here in italy these things are beasts (because of the roads tho... cause we are still the ferrari, lamborghini and alfa people)
Best all around car I’ve ever owned. I had a mustang and I now have an nb Miata. I love my Miata also but it isn’t nearly as quick or practical as the fiesta st not to mention it doesn’t have recaros😭
I had a 2015 for about 6 months as a daily and loved it to death. Inexpensive, great mpg, loads of fun and has just enough features to make you not care about the cheap interior lol. I only got rid of it because I wanted awd for winter. I traded it in on a brand new STi and I still miss the little nugget. Yeah, that's how much fun they are.
I was in the market for a new car and I had been eye balling focus STs for a long time, but when it came down to it I realized what a bargain the Fiesta STs really were in comparison. I bought a 16' FiST with 18k miles on it for the same price of a 14' Focus ST with 75k miles on it. My god this car is awesome! I live in the states where they arent very popular, it doesnt draw a lot of attention until they here it spool or see it handle corners like a go cart. Badass car, it never seizes to make me smile. Even though I have to wake up early every morning and drive to a shitty job, I'm always thankful that I drive my bubble butt super mini.
Yup it is an amazing car, I have a mustang gt, I love that car bought. The fiesta st driving experience is badass, do a stage 3 cobb upgrade, hybrid turbo from woosh, injectors, and 215 on that car easy 300hp. Trust me. I love my v8 but damn does this i4 scream with a good exhaust... rip KB
I went on a cruise last year with the local ST/RS group which also happens to be our largest cruise as it happens once a year and we had roughly 100+ cars. All of them were either the Focus ST or RS. Only one, and I literally mean "only one" out of some 100+ cars was a FiST. Only one little FiST of Fury was part of that cruise. So ya. FiST just isn't as popular as the roomier, more family friendly sized FoST and FoRS. But my mom has a FiST and somehow makes it work with two other kids.
drive a hot hatch and 49% of people will look down on you for simply having fun with it (even if you're not going overboard by flooring it *everywhere* like corsa bois do :P), the other 49% will look down on you for driving it sensibly and getting in their way (while simultaneously thinking *YOU* are the "boy racer") and only the remaining 2% will understand why you don't drive a Nissan Boring or a Hyundai Hopeless :P I don't even have a hot hatch atm, just a "warm hatch" and get this feeling lol
Just can't beat the bang for buck, or should I say smiles per mile, from a Fiesta ST :) you don't need that much space, and this already has plenty more than you'd think..!
I’ve owned the ST3 versions of both a focus and fiesta same model year and god I love the little fiesta so much more. In the focus now but would switch back to the fiesta in a heartbeat.
The fiesta does have a bubble butt, but the Lincoln LS is the OG bubble butt Not the most renowned car but it does have a small cult following and I do mean cult following so if you’re looking to do another video like this definitely look at the Lincoln LS
The Fiesta ST doesn't have a limited slip differential. It has an open diff, with some torque vectoring software that applies the brake on the inside wheel as you enter a turn. Still a great little car, but if you mod it, it will need an LSD eventually.
I have an st and when I first got in it and decided to go for a spirited drive, I took a turn faster than I usually would to see if it would understeer and it pulled itself into the corner farther and put the back wheel in the air. Scared the shit out of me for a second.
Lecter yep! I’ve lightly modded mine for track duty (brakes, tune) and the LSD is #1 on my list at this point. Even with a light tune I don’t feel myself needing more power since I already struggle with getting it to the ground as it is.
I've had my '14 FiST since Summer of 2016, and it's been a blast. Not fast from a standstill. But if you drop a cog and floor it on the highway, it punches WAAAAY above it's weight level. And it's by far one of the most fun affordable cars that's on the market right now.
I just bought a 2014 Fiesta ST for under 10g, stage 3 Cobb tune, full bolt on and I love the thing so much ❤️ it’s such a great car! Highly recommend picking one up if your looking into one
I blame and thank my brother for my 2019 Fiesta St. Long story short we work together, and he knew I was in the market for a new car. He took me to test drive the fiesta st.... I have never smiled, and laughed so hard. I bought the car the next day, and have never regretted that decision.
Currently have an XR4 (more commonly called ST150) and absolutely love it. It’s not fast by any means in a straight line but it’s got enough juice to be an absolute blast through some corners. Everyone who has driven mine through corners have loved it, even if they were just cruising because it’s just so damn fun to drive. Not for everyone but to me it’s absolutely the best car I could’ve bought on my budget. Doesn’t have any ‘comfort features’ really but doesn’t bother me, no cruise control, poor ac for Aussie summers, stereo isn’t great, 5 speed revs at 3000rpm doing 100kmh. Don’t plan on every getting rid of it, may just end up as a track car.
Love the video. I have a non-ST Fiesta, couple of moddios. My biggest issue that i would warn those about when it comes to modding Fiestas is the weird bolt pattern. These bad bois run on 4x108.... an absolute nightmare to find good wheels for. If youre willing to go custom drilled youre okay, but off the shelf is very small selection. Lucky to say the Mk7 fiesta St was my first car. Could not recommend it higher. Complete blank canvas, can make it look so unique to your personal tastes. Brilliant car !
I loved my 2017 Fiesta ST but it had poor paint quality (paint flaking, bubbling, falling off, and rusting) and is now being bought back by Ford. If you get lucky enough to get one without that problem then yes it’s an amazing car.
This mk of fiesta ST does NOT have a limited slip diff. The NEW fiesta ST (known as the mk 8 in the U.K. (the 1.5 litre turbo one, you know...)) has the option to spec one from the factory, but the fiesta ST in the video (known as the mk 7.5 in the U.K.) only had torque vectoring (using the brakes).
I have the 1.0 Ecoboost and have it modded slightly to look nice but I want an ST so bad 😂 They’re hard to find here in Northern Ontario 😢 Especially in Molten Orange with the matching Recaros 🤤🤤
I traded my 2017 Fiat 124 Spider for a 2015 Ford Fiesta ST and man... best decision I've ever made and I'm not a FWD guy! I've always owned RWD and AWD sports cars. The 124 handled better for sure, BUT little aftermarket support narrowing to only 3 companies with only 2 tuners.. yeah no thanks. The Fiesta has TONS of support and puts a huge smile on my face just driving that little car. Amazing car. I'm so happy that I stopped being bias against American cars and finally got one.
2016 fiesta st180 owner over here in the uk. Not your average owner tbh as I'm 50! I'm a huge fan of the st though having been old enough/ lucky enough to have owned a few hot hatches in the past including the pug 205 GTI, golf gti ,saxo vts and a mini cooper s. I really love the handling of the little st though my daily commute is a 46 mile round trip along windy country roads perfect for hooning along in the st. Owned now for 18 months and with a few tasteful mods including rear engine mount, short shifter and a maxd out stage 1 remap. I suppose at my age i should be driving something more sensible/boring like a beemer or an audi but im just enjoying the little st so much it iant going to happen anytime soon!
I love my Fiesta ST and am looking forward to getting it tuned. Ill probably go for JST since he is fairly local and highly regarded in the ST community.

i have a tuned and built Fiesta and i toy with tuned Focus's and WRX's for the same dollar value. it will also beat stock STI's and RS's in 4th gear for a lot less money invested.
@@johnblaze6269 nah it's a much more refined daily compared to my lowered s2000 with 3 inch test pipe and exhaust. I can actually go on road trips without hating my life in the fist, and its nimble and sporty enough to haul ass on a backroad and not make me wish I was in the s2000. It's pretty fuckin awesome
@@johnblaze6269 to be fair if my s2000 was stock it would be a lot better to daily. But the previous owner ruined it with cheap coilovers and I made it too loud. So there's a couple things to fix on it right now as opposed to the bone stock fiesta
I've got the same lineup! S2000 and FD as weekend cars and fiesta ST as a everyday useable fun car. The fiesta is actually really capable for what it is too. I love it.

i know this video is old, but its funny how you said "a go kart that's street legal" and my fiesta i always told people it's like driving a go kart but more fun. they do have really good handling compared to any car I've drove or owned.
I watched the whole review to hear the most important part of the car the motor and how it handles upgrades and there is barely any talk about that. I don't really care about wheels or how my car looks some people just want to go fast and have fun driving I wanted to know motor specs like what is the block made of is it open deck closed deck semi-closed, is it a non-interference engine? It would be nice just to know stuff like that.
Sadly, Ford decided to depart from Indonesia. But it doesn't matter because majority of people here only care for 7-seat cars from Japanese manufacture.

Best all around car I’ve ever owned. I had a mustang and I now have an nb Miata. I love my Miata also but it isn’t nearly as quick or practical as the fiesta st not to mention it doesn’t have recaros😭
I had a 2015 for about 6 months as a daily and loved it to death. Inexpensive, great mpg, loads of fun and has just enough features to make you not care about the cheap interior lol. I only got rid of it because I wanted awd for winter. I traded it in on a brand new STi and I still miss the little nugget. Yeah, that's how much fun they are.
Ford's Fiesta ST is it, it's the best. And it's the pinnacle. Nothing much missing from the car stock outta the box. Get. It. Love. It.

I was in the market for a new car and I had been eye balling focus STs for a long time, but when it came down to it I realized what a bargain the Fiesta STs really were in comparison. I bought a 16' FiST with 18k miles on it for the same price of a 14' Focus ST with 75k miles on it. My god this car is awesome! I live in the states where they arent very popular, it doesnt draw a lot of attention until they here it spool or see it handle corners like a go cart. Badass car, it never seizes to make me smile. Even though I have to wake up early every morning and drive to a shitty job, I'm always thankful that I drive my bubble butt super mini.

Yup it is an amazing car, I have a mustang gt, I love that car bought. The fiesta st driving experience is badass, do a stage 3 cobb upgrade, hybrid turbo from woosh, injectors, and 215 on that car easy 300hp. Trust me. I love my v8 but damn does this i4 scream with a good exhaust... rip KB
Exhaust recomendation?
I went on a cruise last year with the local ST/RS group which also happens to be our largest cruise as it happens once a year and we had roughly 100+ cars. All of them were either the Focus ST or RS. Only one, and I literally mean "only one" out of some 100+ cars was a FiST. Only one little FiST of Fury was part of that cruise.
So ya. FiST just isn't as popular as the roomier, more family friendly sized FoST and FoRS.
But my mom has a FiST and somehow makes it work with two other kids.
drive a hot hatch and 49% of people will look down on you for simply having fun with it (even if you're not going overboard by flooring it *everywhere* like corsa bois do :P), the other 49% will look down on you for driving it sensibly and getting in their way (while simultaneously thinking *YOU* are the "boy racer") and only the remaining 2% will understand why you don't drive a Nissan Boring or a Hyundai Hopeless :P

I’ve owned the ST3 versions of both a focus and fiesta same model year and god I love the little fiesta so much more. In the focus now but would switch back to the fiesta in a heartbeat.
The fiesta does have a bubble butt, but the Lincoln LS is the OG bubble butt

The Fiesta ST doesn't have a limited slip differential. It has an open diff, with some torque vectoring software that applies the brake on the inside wheel as you enter a turn. Still a great little car, but if you mod it, it will need an LSD eventually.
I have an st and when I first got in it and decided to go for a spirited drive, I took a turn faster than I usually would to see if it would understeer and it pulled itself into the corner farther and put the back wheel in the air. Scared the shit out of me for a second.
Lecter yep! I’ve lightly modded mine for track duty (brakes, tune) and the LSD is #1 on my list at this point. Even with a light tune I don’t feel myself needing more power since I already struggle with getting it to the ground as it is.
I think the confusion comes from the ST-200 which did have an LSD if i'm not mistaken.
Mk8 ST with the performance pack does come with one....but alas not sure if this ever gona be coming to the US

I've had my '14 FiST since Summer of 2016, and it's been a blast. Not fast from a standstill. But if you drop a cog and floor it on the highway, it punches WAAAAY above it's weight level. And it's by far one of the most fun affordable cars that's on the market right now.

I blame and thank my brother for my 2019 Fiesta St. Long story short we work together, and he knew I was in the market for a new car. He took me to test drive the fiesta st.... I have never smiled, and laughed so hard. I bought the car the next day, and have never regretted that decision.
Currently have an XR4 (more commonly called ST150) and absolutely love it. It’s not fast by any means in a straight line but it’s got enough juice to be an absolute blast through some corners. Everyone who has driven mine through corners have loved it, even if they were just cruising because it’s just so damn fun to drive. Not for everyone but to me it’s absolutely the best car I could’ve bought on my budget. Doesn’t have any ‘comfort features’ really but doesn’t bother me, no cruise control, poor ac for Aussie summers, stereo isn’t great, 5 speed revs at 3000rpm doing 100kmh. Don’t plan on every getting rid of it, may just end up as a track car.
Love the video. I have a non-ST Fiesta, couple of moddios. My biggest issue that i would warn those about when it comes to modding Fiestas is the weird bolt pattern.
These bad bois run on 4x108.... an absolute nightmare to find good wheels for. If youre willing to go custom drilled youre okay, but off the shelf is very small selection.

Lucky to say the Mk7 fiesta St was my first car. Could not recommend it higher. Complete blank canvas, can make it look so unique to your personal tastes. Brilliant car !
I loved my 2017 Fiesta ST but it had poor paint quality (paint flaking, bubbling, falling off, and rusting) and is now being bought back by Ford. If you get lucky enough to get one without that problem then yes it’s an amazing car.

This mk of fiesta ST does NOT have a limited slip diff. The NEW fiesta ST (known as the mk 8 in the U.K. (the 1.5 litre turbo one, you know...)) has the option to spec one from the factory, but the fiesta ST in the video (known as the mk 7.5 in the U.K.) only had torque vectoring (using the brakes).

I traded my 2017 Fiat 124 Spider for a 2015 Ford Fiesta ST and man... best decision I've ever made and I'm not a FWD guy! I've always owned RWD and AWD sports cars. The 124 handled better for sure, BUT little aftermarket support narrowing to only 3 companies with only 2 tuners.. yeah no thanks. The Fiesta has TONS of support and puts a huge smile on my face just driving that little car. Amazing car. I'm so happy that I stopped being bias against American cars and finally got one.

2016 fiesta st180 owner over here in the uk. Not your average owner tbh as I'm 50! I'm a huge fan of the st though having been old enough/ lucky enough to have owned a few hot hatches in the past including the pug 205 GTI, golf gti ,saxo vts and a mini cooper s. I really love the handling of the little st though my daily commute is a 46 mile round trip along windy country roads perfect for hooning along in the st. Owned now for 18 months and with a few tasteful mods including rear engine mount, short shifter and a maxd out stage 1 remap. I suppose at my age i should be driving something more sensible/boring like a beemer or an audi but im just enjoying the little st so much it iant going to happen anytime soon!
I love my Fiesta ST and am looking forward to getting it tuned. Ill probably go for JST since he is fairly local and highly regarded in the ST community.
Corsa vxr quicker in a straight line but the fiesta st handles way better when it comes to corners, which is what a hot hatch is about really

i have a tuned and built Fiesta and i toy with tuned Focus's and WRX's for the same dollar value. it will also beat stock STI's and RS's in 4th gear for a lot less money invested.

@@johnblaze6269 nah it's a much more refined daily compared to my lowered s2000 with 3 inch test pipe and exhaust. I can actually go on road trips without hating my life in the fist, and its nimble and sporty enough to haul ass on a backroad and not make me wish I was in the s2000. It's pretty fuckin awesome
@@johnblaze6269 to be fair if my s2000 was stock it would be a lot better to daily. But the previous owner ruined it with cheap coilovers and I made it too loud. So there's a couple things to fix on it right now as opposed to the bone stock fiesta
I've got the same lineup! S2000 and FD as weekend cars and fiesta ST as a everyday useable fun car. The fiesta is actually really capable for what it is too. I love it.
@@Samurai6936 it's a lovely garage to have, the fiesta is so confidence inspiring when you get an open stretch of backroad and has the performance to back it up, all while being nice and refined on commutes. The recaros make it that much sweeter

i know this video is old, but its funny how you said "a go kart that's street legal" and my fiesta i always told people it's like driving a go kart but more fun. they do have really good handling compared to any car I've drove or owned.

I watched the whole review to hear the most important part of the car the motor and how it handles upgrades and there is barely any talk about that. I don't really care about wheels or how my car looks some people just want to go fast and have fun driving I wanted to know motor specs like what is the block made of is it open deck closed deck semi-closed, is it a non-interference engine? It would be nice just to know stuff like that.
