I can't tell you how much I appreciate this video. I'm 67 years old and I know nothing about crocheting. I have been looking all over TH-cam for a tutorial by someone who doesn't teach at 300 miles per hour. I have been beyond frustrated. All of the tutorials seem to assume that we know the stitches but I do not so your video was really helpful. I wrote everything down and now I have step by step instructions. Thank you so much!!

I've watched COUNTLESS videos on how to crochet a simple granny square for absolute beginners who have never held a crochet hook and I just could not for the life of me grasp the concept. I kept seeing comments under their videos saying that it was the video that clicked for them and they could finally do it but it just wasn't happening for me. It was so bloody frustrating. In saying that, after watching your video I can FINALLY say that I actually DID IT!!! This was that video for me. I couldn't thank you enough! I'm a new mum to a 10 month old baby and have been looking for something to do in my spare time to keep my hands and mind busy and away from my phone. Granted I've watched this video at least 28 times - not even all the way through as I haven't actually finished my granny square but it's coming along SO BEAUTIFULLY and I've gotten to the stage where I can do it without watching the video 😍 I can't wait to crochet more things!! Definitely the best tutorial I have found yet. I have tried more than a few others but with this video my project was a success. The Instructions were clear and easy to follow. Great camera angle. It was externally helpful to be able to see the stitches as she made them.

What size hook do you use for this Square?
It depends on your yarn but 5.5 - 6mm is the basic one to use

This makes an excellent granny. Turning the work makes both sides look awesome. I cant believe how many tutorials there are on making them and every one is a little different, but to my eyes, this one looks the most polished and uniform.

I have watched numerous tutorials on how to make basic granny squares. I have tried so many and just got so frustrated because they were going to fast or they used odd yard that made it hard to see what hole they are looping. I literally made my first granny square FIRST attempt with your tutorial. I can't say thank you enough. I am making each one of my kids these for Christmas and wanted to start now while I'm off for summer vacation and have time off from teaching. I have done herington stich and love it. So now I can finally add granny squares too my crochet. I was so excited I video called hubby and couple friends who crochet showing them my first granny square..and it actually turned out really well. God Bless you and will only be following your tutorials for now on.

You can slow It down by clicking on the video once and pushing on the symbol in the upper far right corner. It'll give you different speed options. Click the speed you want.

You give the best instructions on the granny square that I have ever had. I have used other methods of doing granny squares rather they be one color or multicolor but this method works the best. Thank you so much.

Thank you so much for making this video, it is very easy to follow and even me, who is a complete beginner, managed to make a very nice granny square. ❤ I personally prefer you being fast at crocheting, I can just stop the video and do it on my own pace and then watch on when I finish the part. Also thank you for the tip that you can use a piece of yarn instead of a stitch marker, helped me lots. 😊

I’ve really started learning how to crotchet and I’ve been wanting to make granny squares with the smaller rolls of yarn I have. This is by far one of the easiest tutorials. I managed to make it perfectly!
P.S. for those struggling to understand what’s happening or feel it may be too fast, change the speed so it’s slower. I had to do that the first time I made it and it helped a lot:)
