e sanjeevani Telemedicine Platform (ಇ-ಸಂಜೀವನಿ)
The e-Sanjeevani OPD is a flagship telemedicine platform of the Government, developed by the Centre for Development of Advance Computing (C-DAC), Mohali under the aegis of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW). It provides free consultations to Indian citizens and is functioning extremely well. However, due to the surge in COVID-19 cases, the demand for doctors is up while the supply has reduced as doctors are being pulled out for COVID ward duties.
eSanjeevani has crossed another milestone by completing 4 million (40 lakh) consultations. Currently, the National Telemedicine Service is operational in 31 states/Union Territories and daily over 35,000 patients across the country are using this innovative digital medium to seek health services.
The National Telemedicine Service, set up by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare comprises of two variants of eSanjeevani namely - doctor to doctor (eSanjeevani AB-HWC) telemedicine platform that is based on hub and spoke model and patient to doctor telemedicine platform (eSanjeevaniOPD) which provides outpatient services to the citizens in the confines of their homes.
