I'm fifty six years old and I've eaten a whole lot of strawberries in my lifetime and I don't recall any problems. I'm a person who was taught to wash their food before consuming it. And yes I will continue to even wash my chicken.
Honestly, we consume more bugs than we think. Like yourself I wash my fruit before hand. I’m sure my stomach acid will digest any bugs left inside the strawberries anyways so what does it matter
That is EXACTLY the information I was looking for. There is 1 way to speed up the cleaning, if you have a bowl large enough to hold your colander: put the berries in the colander, add to bowl with the water & vinegar/salt. That way you would not have to transfer them.
I think if you're like picking fresh strawberries and you might have to deal with that problem but I don't think store bought ones. I've done this with every single batch I thought and I never had worms. I also do this with my grapes as it makes them taste better and last longer to remove that waxy stuff off
Whew that's a lot. I do rinse my produce but that's why I just pray over everything before I consume it and my divine protection from God has been just fine! Pray before you eat anything! 😋
There are actually bugs in strawberries. I have done the same and found this with naked eyes. Its possible that there were no bugs in the three strawberries you soaked. I have soaked the whole box and found so many
So fruit fly worms are inside the strawberry or on top of stem leaves? I've always wondered how when we buy bananas we automatically have fruit flies like they came out of the banana itself 😅😅😅

I think you will find if you soak blackberries that you find on hedgerows in the autumn in salt water you WILL find maggots float out of them. This is how we cleaned our blackberries gathered from the wild when I was a child.
I saw that video with the worms in the strawberries and it freaked me out. But then I thought of the fact that I've been eating strawberries fairly regularly and I'm perfectly fine.
I’ve just had my first raspberry bush , I have had a few raspberries then something was attacking the bush I thought I had lost it , checked online for natural remedies, boil chilli peppers put in a spray bottle ( diluted) , I had no fresh so I used dried then strained, 24 hrs later my raspberry bush is looking healthier. I remember using this remedy on a rose bush a few years ago , it worked then.
A lot of people don't think about this but we should wash off banana skin too- especially if it's to be given to a child. Kinda disgusting how much junk comes off. I dry mine right after that.

You either use salt or vinegar.

Organic strawberries probably have bugs in them.
Non organic strawberries are at the top of the list for pesticide contamination along within spinach.
