@@TheHoneycomb5 All I said was these are not bugs typical of strawberries. You won't be finding a house bug inside a strawberry anytime soon. Wouldn't you agree?
Ooh thank goodness! I love my strawberries and rinse them but I was never looking for whole centipedes and worms. Thanks for keeping it real.. On another note.. My sister did have a bagged salad. dumped it out in a bowl and a spider crawled out of the salad (and no the spider was not already in the bowl first).
I don't eat a lot of strawberries to begin with, but the " strawberry challenge" isn't going to keep me from eating it lol I've always thought fruits just generally carry worms and other species
This did work for us. Very few little larvae but we found a juvenile black window alive. Very small so I think it was hiding in the leaves not actually IN the strawberry.
Anyone unsure…get a microscope. Everything that came out of my strawberries was tiny and couldn’t be seen with the naked eye. It was gross. I had to use my microscope.
Well I mean most bugs that are on strawberries are microscopic so you won’t see them with the naked eye but they exist everywhere even on your skin so just don’t think about it

ofc there are going to be bugs in strawberries. that is why you wash the heck out of the strawberry and check again and then its gone and you fine. i have a microscope and we always use it to check for bugs in our food. thats why we wash before eating it
@@Theartofunity Thanks. I buy a lot of organic, but not consistently. I know a lady that stays away from organic foods. She doesn't believe in it and she has health issues. I may stay away from the strawberries. 😊

I don't buy organic because it's not within my budget. But we still have to eat healthy don't we? So we still eat fruits and vegetables with pesticides.

Organic produce definitely uses pesticides. They just have to be certified as organic, such as neonicotinoids. They're often far more toxic than conventional pesticides. Organic farming is typically also far less sustainable, using more water and fertilizer. Organic produce is terrible for people and the environment. 🤷♀️
@@Theartofunity Well, I must admit that I am not an entomologist. I would guess a Stone Centipede if it is indigenous to wherever those strawberries came from. House Centipedes look way more elegant and not like a centipede; in my opinion. I love the video! So no disrespect meant. 😍
This is GASLIGHTING. I am searched for how to get rid of worms in strawberries because I soaked mine in vinegar and salt and water and I saw worms of different type come out of one.. I am on my third soak, in hot water, salt and vinegar this time around. So this video is unhelpful

@Magnificent Madison yes so it seems. don't need the salt water for that!
Should I keep eating strawberries?
Yes it's okay they are harmless they do nothing :)
Pesticides are a huge reason my dad has been growing his own fruits for years
That's smart of him, I'm sure he's in good health.
I found a small spider but now it’s my best friend named Steve so hey it gave me a free friend
Well there you go. Lucky you :)

My mom always tells me to wash fruit when we get them from stores....sometimes I get really hungry and eat a fruit or two without washing it,thanks 😅
Im never eating a strawberry again you have to look in a microscope

Will soaking them in salt water change the taste ?
It might make then a but saltier but not much. You'll have to try.
Nice video... I started growing my own a month ago.
Wow, that's really cool. How long does it take to get them, and how are the bugs, and are you using pesticides?
If there is bugs guess what? They can’t even harm you :)
Yeah you are right!!
It makes sense because strawberries are made in farms and in farms have a lot of bugs and stuff.
btw the ones that had worms coming out of them, were freshly picked and not washed out so when u buy strawberries from the store, people clean them
Aren't there over 30 pesticides approved for use on organic produce?
There are a lot, not sure how many
Strawberries? No thanks I'm good
I’m getting organic and soakin em in salt water and then I can enjoy my fav fruit
