Honestly, it's underrated but a cult classic. I had heard so many great things for many years! Now that I'm finally playing it, I see why. This game is awesome.
It’s an undertaking but I’ve got this much done so far: Grid, terrain, turn based, move one card per turn, grid advantages & disadvantages, the first 140 cards implemented, the remaining cards are there in data but do not have effects or sprites. Deck leaders do not have abilities yet. Campaign is not implemented only free play. But for 5 days worth of work I’d say I made it pretty far. Would a teaser video be beneficial? 😎
The funniest part is, if you do fuse Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth with a dinosaur, the monster you get has half the attack points of your great moth! That seems really stupid if you ask me!
Finally got my hands on this game the other day, and of course ive already beat it.... it was my favorite game as a kid, and im really glad i got it again, you really motivated me to get it because i couldnt believe someone loved the game as much as i did, Thanks Clovis!
I'm assuming you mean the fusions involving insect imitation? If so, they are actually randomly selected from a specific pool of monsters as detailed on the monster that can use the card; this also means that they're the only fusions that can result in more than one monster. Funnily enough, there are 3 monsters in the game that can actually fuse with insect imitation into themselves, those being: Ryu-Ran, Manga Ryu-Ran, and Winged Egg Elf.
I actually knew about the Thunder Nyan Nyan + Stone D fusion making Mystical Sand. At one point, I started to wonder if a fusion of the 2 of them would make Twin Headed Thunder Dragon or Mystical Sand (since the pair of them could give either one), so I fused them once to see what the result would be. In fact, I remember when Clovis played through with the Thunder Nyan Nyan starter deck, when he tried to fuse for THTD, I knew then what he'd get because of my little "science experiment", lol!
I have a thought about the fusion summons that include powerful monsters to make a weaker yet a decently strong monster. So in the game, monster cards and be spellbound for multiple or infinite turns. If your boss monster is spellbound for any portion of that time or severely weakened, you can use it as fusion material to make a useful monster. As a kid, I remember using this tactic whenever my boss monster got infinitely spellbound.
Yeah, another great one is attacking directly, then fusing over that monster to attack directly. Not that you need to do that to win but it is just kinda fun lol
The Heart of the Cards drew me to the Birdface deck. The Phoenix has always been my emblem--I quickly discovered Crimson Sunbird, and have run my deck on creating and powering them up ever since. A useful tip is knowing that Mavelus can fuse with either a Pyro, or another Winged-Beast--including 2 Mavelus together.
This is true, I just think that the Mavelus + winged beast fusion for Crimson Sunbird is the lesser known combination for that card. If I had to guess why it works, it's because not only is Mavelus a pyro + winged beast fusion (same as Crimson Sunbird), but it's also worth noting that in real-life Crimson Sunbird's fusion materials are both winged beasts as well
A tip for anyone who wants to build an Elf deck: mystic lamp will fuse with Ancient Elf into Lord of the Lamp, despite having 50 more attack points. I noticed this because I tried to use it to fuse with Dancing Elf for a 1 summoning power Dark Elf fusion, and thought I'd mention that in this comment section because of it's discrepancy that I found out.
In regards to the fusion table created by Generic Mad Scientist, there is some conflicting information regarding 2 of the fusions, specifically Minomushi Warrior and Mystical Sand. To clarify: Minomushi Warrior is a rock + a warrior, while Mystical Sand is a level 4 female + a rock, but for the latter, it is said that a fusion that can make Minomushi Warrior will make that instead. Where this comes into conflict is that for a monster that is not rock type to qualify for both, it would have to have less than 1300 attack, be a female warrior, and be level 4, and the only monster that meets all these criteria is Protector of the Throne, which is listed as not being able to fuse into Minomushi Warrior. See the problem here? ..........Well I just tested it the other night, and when I fused Protector of the Throne with a rock monster, it made Mystical Sand, which I suspected it would
No, its a legitimate error. Thats why its in the video. Theres no such thing as 'too high a level', the threshold for fusions is always based on attack. Barox and Metal Guardian work.
@@ClovissenpaiDotR Oh really? That's interesting - I remember during my research years ago that levels were valid in certain fusions - I'll look up my list now - Beast LV4+ & Fiend = Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast 2100/1800 Love the mechanics of this game
@@flochforster88 Yes there are fusions that require a level threshold, I know that. You can also look at the document in the description. My point is having a level higher than the fusion youre trying to make never matters
I believe 'Charubin the Fire Knight' as material for 'Ushi Oni' was also a mistake. 'Charubin' has ID #615, while 'Dragon Piper' has ID #613 and seems to make more sense.
There are 2 reasons why I believe this makes sense: Firstly, in Forbidden Memories, I'm pretty sure I heard that Dragon Piper does in fact work, which I can see, given it's a jar-like monster, similar to the other 3 non-spellcaster type fusion materials. Secondly, Dragon Piper also happens to be a palette swap of Pot the Trick, which also works as well, so I believe that may very well have been the case
Destiny Draw, its a last resort event, like trusting in the heart of the cards thing, and a special card (not sure if it was in the deck originally or not), appears as your next draw and possibly helps you win the duel.
@@simplysteve68 A lot of the cards you can destiny draw are unobtainable in the game normally, such as Riryoku or Arsenal Bug, for example. Also, Clovis made a video detailing how the destiny draw mechanic works, so you can check that out as well
