Nice! I also got a question since we are on the topic of Ranks. Using an Action Replay MAX using the codes you can make all of your cards to SD. How would you get that code on Emulators such as PCSX2 to work?
I will pay my respect to you by revealing you what i thought i was the only person who know this secret about Yu-Gi-Oh DOTR. Nice Video by the way, i learned a lot more than i thought. Did you know, sometimes when a specific attribute monster battles another specific attribute monster, the attacking monster is spellbound for 1 turn (until the end of your opponent's turn). It goes as follows: Water is spellbound by Light Light is spellbound by Dark Dark is spellbound by Wind Wind is spellbound by Earth Earth is spellbound by Fire Fire is spellbound by Water It has been almost 2 decades since i've played this game, i liked it so much that i said to myself that i'd never forget this hidden secret. Hey Clovis just wanted to thank you for your videos. My friends and I are picking this game up again after 5-6 years and all the information on Deck Leader abilities and how to grind for them efficiently has been a huge help. 👍
Leaving a comment to say thank you since this video is a big help to me even 3 years later. Making my own custom mod for Duelist of the Roses and one of the big changes I'm working towards is redoing the leader abilities of every single card. Wanted to incorporate abilities into the campaign and this helped me fully understand each one so I could balance out the abilities carefully. Overall, been reducing the power of abilities by reducing the number of them and removing certain extremely strong abilities like destroy (the AI literally just walks into this for free). At the same time though, I've been giving all the monsters their abilities as soon as they can be used as a leader so you can work with said abilities right away. Even been giving some monsters more exclusive ability combinations as either a flavor thing or as like a fun little potential build around like Binding Chain getting Spellbind and Range instead of the usual Range, Strength, and 1/2 Direct Damage that I've given most other 3 star fairies or giving Monster Eye Move and Open Cards to fit its scouting theme. Resist in particular was one I was skiddish about giving out too freely because I've never worked with it and most sites had it listed as blocking monster effects as well. Now that I know it only stops Spells and Traps it's made building the AI's decks a lot more lenient in some regards alongside abilities.
Just found the video and I so happy to see the amount of dedication you put on it. Everything was so well explained, really the best tutorial from DOTR in the youtube! Thanks for making such a great video!
Well I guess this is actually really useful because I ranked up laughing flower to SADM a long time ago to see if it gets LP recovery and it didn't but now I realize I just need to get it to SD for that so all of that time wasn't wasted.

So I been playing this, I used a pump king deck and one as leader.. I read online that swordstalker gets better bonus slots than machines.. I Really need a good slots bonus leader ability so I can get the last exodia, and the dark magician girl.. my goal is to have a dragon deck with red eye and blue eye, a spell caster deck with dark magician, and a I guess maybe a hybrid zombie deck with exodia as the leader. Right now my zombie deck is pretty good as I turn all the heavy hitting non zombie To zombies and wreck the opponents.. but it’s Slow.. I’ve got perfectly ultimate great moth in there and sometimes I get two of those and three pump kings and it takes forever to resolve a game, and then im only leveling those cards.. im currently trying to level the swordstalker.. out of the decks I have in mind to build, do you have any leader suggestions?
Finding hidden cards is weird. Working my way through the campaign for the first time and went the Yorkist route. And besides Dharma Cannon on Grandpa's stage, I only had to enter an adjacent tile to where the hidden card was to collect them. Dharma Cannon did require me to move my deck leader onto the specified tile. My deck leader was Queen of Autumn Leaves, so I had the Plant leader abilities. Could there be more to the Find ability we don't know about?
Just the range of your hidden card find leader ability extends by one once youre at a certain rank (i forget which rank exactly but its the same for all monsters that get the ability)
Clovis, I have a Question, I know than the Big Eagle Is a Deck Master than can learn the abilitie of Find Hidden cards, but can Cannon Soldier learn too? I see in one GameFaq than Machine monsters can learn about "Open Opponent Cards" but Idk if IS the Hidden search abillitie or it's flip oponent monsters, can you help me with this?
And for those unsure how to unlock arsenal bug there's actually a way you can do it by ranking up Hercules beetle, making an insect deck, and going against yourself... apparently xD
13:50 is it not faster to summon 5 off a mirror custom enemy deck while killing stuff and reviving theirs? or is it better just to summon your 3 instead of going through all that?
You'd probably spend twice as long per duel, if not more, trying to cycle through the enemies deck to get them all. Theres a few dilemmas with it. First of all, if you had a deck full of monsters, the AI always plays the highest attack monster it can summon. So it would only ever summon it if there were no other monsters to it. The best you could do is have a deck full of material it can fuse cards, so it cycles through the deck quickly and sends it all to the graveyard, but then youd literally be fucking around for around 20 turns on average for it to play two extra copies of your monster, then youd have to run out your opponents cards to not lose to them if you only had 5 300 attack monsters on the field. Theres no crush field card you could reliably surround your opponent with without blocking them unless you did even more stuff like manipulating the ai to move on a field with crush (remember if your opponent started on crush they wouldnt play any of the fusions 1500+ attack until you forced them off). So what it all boils down to is there is no reliable strat to do it fast. Youre better off having 3 face up and then 2 face up of another monster you want to level up. If you wanted to level up 2 monsters, you dont need fusions, because you can just have 3 faceup of one, and 2 faceup of the other, then flip that about half way through ranking up (about 3 hours in) and just have the 3 and 2 faceup monsters the other way around and skip turns like normal. Thats the only really good way to do it. My point remains from the start though that its really not worth getting a DL all the way to SADM or SD just to recover 50 LP per turn when you can just activate any LP recovery card.
Clovis senpai yea I wouldn’t level for that, the 50 hp is more annoying then it is helpful lol. I use a setup where you use a buff or two on your one monster and kill your opponents monster every turn until you can Rez the one you want. They never buffed their Monster unless they had the exact draw to buff it multiple times and if they revived with copycat or something it was just weaker then yours that you sped to. When I got what I needed revived and they summoned something I just paralyzed it with gorgon eye so you can skip their turn faster. That was when I thought the kills mattered way more then face up turns. Was just curious if you had a better way of grinding one specific three star or if that was even faster. Im doing enchanting mermaid right now because she’s bae AF but I might just switch back to spamming three of her plus the DL and my next SD I want so I don’t have to pay attention to it. PS love your vids 😘
@@MaiBoA38 yea i just think killing and reviving takes way too long. you probably wouldnt believe it until you timed it but i think youd be shocked at how much time goes to waste compared to how much time you 'save' levelling. thanks for the compliment :)

Open opponent card is double edged sword imo, it tells you information but also makes opponent AI aggressive af since most of the time we battle them in their map with terrain advantage.
It isn't, if your enemy is close enough and can attack you, it would manually flip up and attack you anyways. Open Card just straight up gives you info of your opponents cards and counters flip effects
@ClovissenpaiDotR most arent but i figured early opponent in yorkist side like those dino deck machine and insect deck leader would indiscriminately attack and pursue you with flipped up monsters. It wouldnt be a problem for at least half decent player though, unless they're very beginner which is kinda impossible in the first place since they bother to actually farm their deck leader to high rank. Yeah not pros outweigh the cons.
I've been play this game since thirteen years old :'D But i only learned about the skills of the Deck Leader and the "Hiden Cards" When i started watching your videos. Greetings from Colombia, Ps: i don't know if my english is good , probably not 😂
Which monsters have the best abilities at max rank? What are the absolute best monsters to rank up that far to get the most yield and value out of the abilities they gain?
That depends on which leader abilities you think are the most valuable. For example: all dragons will gain the increased movement ability (which affects the leader), but if they are level 3 or lower, they get open opponent's card, while anything that's a higher level gets reduced summon cost for same type (you only get a 2 star reduction if your deck leader is level 7 or higher). Therefore, my suggestion would be to find out which types of monsters get what abilities, and rank up one that you think has the best for the deck you want to build.
@@ClovissenpaiDotR Any buff you put in ? Because I swear when I use Kaiser Dragon as my Leader, he somehow able to access and find the ' Find Hidden Cards ' when facing Pegasus and Necromancer / Boonz, not that I'm complaining, it's been useful lol
Direct damage halved, and 3 more creatures that halve damage, 4500 damage = 281.25. Alone recovering 50 seems like nothing, but it can add up if you layer on the armor and just facetank bully your opponents deck leader into a corner. But really, who has the time to grind such a minimal impact ability for such a short game where you have to deliberately hold back to get card drops.
It depends on what you're doing: If you're speedrunning or playing against real people. Against real people, I'd say Harpie's Pet Dragon (Dragon High Level), Pot the Trick (Rock Low Level) and Dancing Elf (Fairy Low Level).
Guy takes a doubt, my dark whitch is on the deck level where more arrows appear on the roulette wheel, but only one more arrow appeared (in this case there were two, one at the top and in the middle). I've seen several videos of you and I couldn't understand how to have the 5 arrows. I'm Brazilian so I couldn't understand it, if you can type it in English right here for me in the comment and then I'll translate. Thanks man your videos have helped me a lot in other things.
Basically, the way it works is if your deck leader has this ability, the higher the rank it is, the more extra slot arrows you'll get. You should get all of them once you get your deck leader to senior admiral (which is the second highest rank after secretary of defense)
Bro, i already done subscribe ur channel. Please tell me bro, how to got leader deck blue eyes dragon/daek magician ? Sure i want play star new game but im never got blue eyes or dark magician for leader deck. Please tell me bro thanksss
Hi buddy! To get the Blue eyes dragon you must match 3 cards on slot machine, and it's random. To get the Dark magician is simple, basically win against yu gi oh and get the Card At slot machine. To level up as deck leader follow the walkthrough in the video ( have 5 Blue eyes at The Field, win all Card battles using The monster)
You are correct in that Reptiles get destroy specific enemy type, they also get spellbind specific enemy type. That information is missing in my video. Dinosaurs do not get cost reduction, however
I used injection Fairy Lily as my deck leader (3 stars), when she was promoted to 1LT, she didn't get increased strength. I think you messed up. Thanks for the guide, anyway.
Kinda disappointed my Kwagar Hercules isn't getting any other abilities when he reaches the final Rank (I've already collected all the hidden cards), but my infection deck is amazing and he's a great leader nonetheless.
Don't kill the any monsters just the one you want like I want red eyes I would just wait to his on the field and kill it and when the game ends he shopd pop up and have a better chance to getting what card you looking for
Wait wtf this is incomplete. Reptiles get destroy and spellbind specific enemy type but it doesnt show on the recap. It might be the only mistake but id have to double check everything to be sure.
Sure, but I do mention at 8:46 that Reptiles destroy Insects, and at 17:24 I say Reptiles gain the ability to spellbind Aqua monsters at BG. There's also a link in the description that is a complete table, which you dont even need to expand the description to see, which you would have scrolled past to leave a comment in the first place (I mention its there in the video as well, at the intro).
I noticed a couple of other things that weren't listed anywhere in this video: *Pyros spellbinding beasts and winged beasts *The final rank you get the 4th bonus graveyard slot is senior admiral, not admiral; I've tested this with multiple deck leaders
yeah if you have an action replay max, you enter the codes (video to the codes in the description). i mention that within the first few mins of the video...

Videazo, i like it so mucho, thnxx
Bro, i already done subscribe ur channel.
Please tell me bro, how to got leader deck blue eyes dragon/daek magician ?
Sure i want play star new game but im never got blue eyes or dark magician for leader deck.
Please tell me bro thanksss
Hi buddy! To get the Blue eyes dragon you must match 3 cards on slot machine, and it's random. To get the Dark magician is simple, basically win against yu gi oh and get the Card At slot machine. To level up as deck leader follow the walkthrough in the video ( have 5 Blue eyes at The Field, win all Card battles using The monster)
very well made video!
Yo senpai, can you suggest best DL with most abilities?
I believe you’re missing some info. Dinos get cost reduction. Reptiles get destroy specific type.
You are correct in that Reptiles get destroy specific enemy type, they also get spellbind specific enemy type. That information is missing in my video. Dinosaurs do not get cost reduction, however
@@ClovissenpaiDotR true. The guide I'd read said that about dinosaurs, and it was wrong.
I used injection Fairy Lily as my deck leader (3 stars), when she was promoted to 1LT, she didn't get increased strength. I think you messed up. Thanks for the guide, anyway.
You get some leader abilities at different level depending on the summoning power of that monster, so keep levelling it up
Ok I got a serious interesting question, Which is faster to gain exp. winning instant duels or having said monsters out for the whole time limit
the seccond one since the monsters will gain more exp (in every turn ofc) instead of instan win
Love it
Kinda disappointed my Kwagar Hercules isn't getting any other abilities when he reaches the final Rank (I've already collected all the hidden cards), but my infection deck is amazing and he's a great leader nonetheless.
any tips for getting 3 in a row on graveyard slots. im cat at it
Yeah plz i need it too
Yeah plz i need it too
Don't kill the any monsters just the one you want like I want red eyes I would just wait to his on the field and kill it and when the game ends he shopd pop up and have a better chance to getting what card you looking for
Clovis can you do a video on how to set up yugioh duelist of the rose on android using damon ps2 emulator please

How to make red eyes metal black dragon to deck leader dude?
You need to own red eyes black metal dragon as a card, get a level on it, set it as your deck leader
@@ClovissenpaiDotR how to get red eyes metal black dragon card?
@@benskimoc2071 ive literally made videos of how to get all cards in the game. google them.
@@ClovissenpaiDotR I didn't find the video how to get all the cards on your channel
Niiiice 🔥🔥
I like plant Deck Leader :)
I noticed a couple of other things that weren't listed anywhere in this video:
*Pyros spellbinding beasts and winged beasts
*The final rank you get the 4th bonus graveyard slot is senior admiral, not admiral; I've tested this with multiple deck leaders
Were you able to cheat in all cards have max Rank? If so that would be very useful. I aint got time to do all that.
yeah if you have an action replay max, you enter the codes (video to the codes in the description). i mention that within the first few mins of the video...
@@ClovissenpaiDotR I had an action replay on ps2 but never saw codes for ranks back then
@@AndersonWave17 aight well enter the 'all cards to SD' code in the description of that video and enjoy
My rank is RADM and don't have the ability of find hiding cards :(
My deck leader is a fairy Parsath
Did you watch the video?
Which version of this game ? Cause I can't custom battle with my copycat deck 😅
If you're looking to custom duel against your own deck, you simply need to not have another memory card in the second slot.
Oh? Well, I'll follow your lead.
Please add subtitle 😢
That is a large ask
wait so zombies don't gain bonus slots
Based on the chart, no they do not unfortunately
Magician of Faith gains terrain change at colonel? Really
Yeah, i dont know why its different
Why you don,t play yu gi oh in ps1?

Insects weaken sea serpents!?!?!?
I wish you can play this on ps4
