    Thanks for the video ! This season I couldn't get the blower to start ~ much less, the motor wouldn't make a sound. In less than 15 minutes I swapped out the spark plug, air filter, old fuel, and checked the filters**; and then it started on just the second pull of the cord ! 👍
    ** The fuel filter looked brand new, and I'd never even considered the "Spark Arresting Screen" , but it too was spotless👍

      My 2016 bg56c just started to act up always used 93 octane ethanol fuel, Stihl oil and Lucas fuel stabilizer. I have changed plug, air filter is clean still won't start.I will try all ur other suggestions. Also going to switch over to the 90 octane non ethanol gas. Thanks so much for ur video.😅😅😅

    Thanks for the video. I had a split pickup fuel tube that was cause of blower not running. Replaced pick up hose and problem fixed. Storing without fuel over a long period was a problem. To clean carbon off spar arrestor, burn it off with a blowtorch or other flame and then compressed aur and reinstall. You don't need to buy a new one.

    i got 3 of these blowers for free from my neighbor and that muffler screen is plugged up not allowing the exhaust to get out i took the screen out and got 3 running blowers, i kept one and sold one and gave one to my neighbor, Its very damp here so no worries about sparks , He was putting too much oil in the gas and they would run a season then he couldnt get it started so he just bought a new blower every year and put tyhe non running ones back in the box and put it in his shed out back ,one day he just gave them to me,

    I would put a little anti sieve on the spark arrestor threads before I put it back in. This will help in removal later. I would also put a little dielectric grease on the spark plug and end cap to help in the removal of the plug, later.

      Another reason the blower may not start....bee nest in the spark arrester. I've had it happen and it was crazy trying to figure it out until I flipped it over.

      Have you checked the new spark plug for spark? The ignition coil can fail you won't get enough spark to run. Replacement ignition coil modules are available for ~$25.

    Stihl recommends that you never throw start a stihl easy 2 start system it will break the spring and the rope

    • @TheLawnEngineer
      @TheLawnEngineer  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s not a bad recommendation but I can’t seem to bring myself to follow it.
      What they really want to say is to remove the slack from the recoil mechanism and pull smoothly. The problem with throw starting is that some consumers are just not coordinated enough to do it smoothly. I have seen some examples that really make me cringe…poor recoil mechanism, I can hear it crying out in pain.

      Thanks for sharing your frustrating experience. Hopefully it helps others avoid some frustration and understand the benefits of amsoil, I also love their 2 cycle oil.
