    Just when you think you have heard it all about fasting and really know it all you bring us some new ways of thinking. I love the lawn analogy he gave regarding fasting. Thank-you!

    This confirms I’m healthy and on the right track. Proves being sugar free helps so much for healthy gut and makes intermittent fasting hunger free for me. Love his testimony of faith! Ditto!

    Dr David Jockers, I’ve not heard of him and am so grateful to be introduced to him on your podcast, Dr. Mindy. I love how open he is about proclaiming The Good News!🙏♥️✝️
    And the way he talks about all of his favorite foods makes me crave them over hamburgers and pizza!😅

    This is one of the best talks that clearly explains the body. David is different as he quietly promotes his book by sharing enough information and thoroughly explained things. Now, I'm ordering his book.

    Amazing info packed into the hour! I'd never learn all this from the doc. When you say chronic disease, do you believe that can include chronic lymphocytic leukemia? I have come a long long way, but I sure hate being a slave to Ibrutinib. I think it offsets much of my anti-aging efforts. I'm 64. Blessings and gratitude to you. 💚

      Mindy has video re too much OMAD bad for metabolism. If you can find that - it’s helpful

    • @ilynramos3161
      @ilynramos3161 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can’t do OMAD everyday esp if your not yet fat adapted. It’s best to do 72 hour fasting every week for 8 weeks if insulin resistant. For that you need a support group to keep going. That’s based on Dr Boz teaching. Also do keto then fast after it shocks your metabolism and that stress drops the weight.

    Very informative. Thanks. There are more and more supplements out there. Everything is good for something! I am living on 900.00 a month😢. How in the world am I to figure out how to find the most needed ones? Even 30 a month is too much. I can't do it. Living in a nursing home with only the worst food possible. I'm omad, have reversed diabetes. Off all insulin. How can I help myself? Please help me. I'm in dire need. Thank you so much Mindy,for all you do!❤

    • @imspillin
      @imspillin ปีที่แล้ว

      I also am on the low disability income. You can make your own ferments, like saurkraut, pickles, in a mason jar in your room. Also you can grow sprouts. OMAD isn't necessarily good for us elders because we need to keep and build muscle to have more insulin receptor sites. Maybe supplementing your cafeteria foods with a protein loading day, eating jerky and hard boiled eggs every 2-3hours with a big mixed greens salads. Our Farmers Market has a national program where you buy $20 of FoodStamp tokens and are matched with $20 more in vouchers. That way you might be able to afford a more diverse selection of leafy greens, celery, cucumbers, avacado to eat a big salad with olive oil and lemon before you head down to the dining room. And of course you might be able to make changes in the menu demanding healthy choices, maybe even a petition from fellow residents, and start a community garden to grow some of these healthy gut supporting greens!.Artichokes grow well and are so beautiful! Like Dr Mindy says, these are all free choices we can make to claim back our health. Cheers to making it work on a budget!

    This may sound like a dumb question, but during a fasting period is it the goal to not take in any sugar, carbs for a lengthy period of time? Is taking a protein drink a bad thing during a fasting time cycle?

    • @viviennebolton4358
      @viviennebolton4358 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I think so and you need to watch if anything you drink spikes your blood sugar because that will interupt ketosis and autophagy. These wonderful videos really help our understanding about our bodies and how we can be more healthy.

    How helpful is a melatonin supplement for better sleep and brain detox support?
    what dose? what to look out for?
    for context- decades of v poor sleep, 58y.o. & trauma history, keto 3 yrs, 16/8 IF 2 years, gall stones, aiming for 24 hr fast 1/wk, lots health benefits, however sleep not helped by keto.

    I don't want my Vegas nerve stimulated because my willpower is weak.More times than not I will give in and go to Vegas and lose money.
    Also, he talked about how a stool can help you rid your body of toxins. Not only does that not make sense to me, but even if it's true, all I have in my home are chairs, not even one stool.
    Not everybody has the wherewithal to buy stools whenever they want. Please don't tell me I would have stool money if woildnt go the Vegas every time I get stimulated.
    Yes it's obviously true
    The problem is the weak willpower.
