    omg yes! i have really broad shoulders and for most of my adult life i've slept on 2 pillows stacked on top of each other because it's more comfortable, and i never knew why!

    If your neck is sore you probably need a new pillow and I just found out another good pillow tip is how you wake up is your sleep style if you wake up on your side most likely your side sleeper if you wake up on your back then you most likely are a back sleeper then you can pick the right pillow as well.Because I go to bed on my back but I wake up on my side

    As someone with cervical stenosis these tips have greatly helped me to reduce the night headaches I was getting from having my neck to high or low which would pinch the nerves.

    My go-to is a therapeutic Tempurpedic with curved sides for my broad shoulders. With my whiplash, I cant sleep without it. Thanks Doc!

    I grew up physically abused and my Ex husband was abusive as well. I have terrible neck issues. In order to keep down the pain I use a beaded snap on travel neck pillow that I removed part of the beads inside. I keep it snapped around my neck to prevent it from getting away from me in the night in addition to my regular pillow and the one I use between my knees. I also broke my back and ribs in 2005 when trying to rescue a bull taking a pretty bad hit. Thank Goodness I was in excellent shape at the time as I drove myself home to shower before driving myself to Urgent Care. It's all I can do to keep pain to a minimum without medication and to keep moving. I just keep chugging along, too stupid to lay down and die.

    I have a tip - Be sure to flip and rotate the pillow before bed every night. This inherently resets the resting pillow position and allows for it to reform to the head/neck every night before bed, rather than reusing it's form from the night before.

    I had to give up sleeping on my side because of hip pain. I bought what I call a "Japanese pillow", it's a roll that fits under the neck, best sleep I ever had, I wake up rested and no headache (which I used to get). It took me two nights to get used to it, best thing I ever done.

    Hahaha I just went and tried my pillows and had a mirror to see if I was straight hahaha. My pillow was a lil high so will change. Had another pillow that makes me all aligned 😁 thanks Dr. Mandell. I best get back to work now lol benefits of working from home lol

    I need my pillows elevated because I have hypertension. It makes me dizzy if its not elevated.

    I cut a slot for my shoulder and arm after injury, man it made a world of difference. Other times I folded up a topper.

    Absolutely true! I have lower back issues, and it's worse if i fall asleep with 2 pillows, but if i sleep with 1 pillow, it's much less painful in the morning.
    I also did your bed exercises before i got out of bed this morning, it definitely helped! Thanks @motivationaldoc

    I'm currently suffering from lack of good neck support and it comes with some of the worst head aches that border a migraine. If you need a good pillow that won't go flat and you have some money to spend then the purple harmony pillow is the one to go for.

    I prefer thin pillow when laying on my back, and thicker pillows when laying on my sides.

    Sleeping on your shoulders will cause them to hunch over and also weaken. It's bad for your hips too and your knees. It's not that hard to train yourself to sleep on your back. Whenever you think of it just sleep on your back
