wild fact: on my first run of Ruby I found a shiny Chimecho on my very first encounter. wasn’t even looking for it. and because Chimecho is so rare and it’s not exactly something I was ever really searching for, for years that shiny Chimecho was the only Chimecho I’d ever seen.
My first ever shiny was a Chingling in Platinum, which I evolved into Chimecho. I didn't even know what a shiny was then! It's so cool you found one eventually! Seems it was fate that I saw this video

Watched this thinking I'd have to dread my hunt for the 1% Dark Cave Dunsparce thanks to just how long this took, but thankfully I got mine in 5 phases with 4 Geodude and 1 Dunsparce.
I can feel the slight frustration that the shiny Shuppet at the 55k encounter phase gave to you since you've suddenly multiplied the number of games to hunt into by a lot lmao. Congrats on the easy Chiming Echo thought! Great video!

I'll consider making one once settlement is over and I move into my new place! It's 8 Gamecubes with gameboy players attached underneath, all controlled with a wavebird, 2 elgato capture cards, 2 multiviewers so I don't need 8 capture cards, 2 capture carded DS with the controller mod, and an additional gamecube on the side with a wavebird receiver so I can send the signal to my cap carded DS so they're in sync with the other games. A little confusing. I'll consider a video in the future!

@@Laprisu not exactly, from an odds standpoint the chinecho encounters themselves are pretty standard as this is full odds pre gen 6. It's extremely long though because of the 2% encounter chance, but OP knew that when going into it at least haha

They're all real games! My setup has 2 DS cap cards and 9 Gamecubes! I collect all of the shinies I have and put them in Pokémon Box :']
