    Loved your turkey series so far. I'm so glad you showed how to use the electric canner. I've been looking into them and was on the fence. You made it look simple to use. I like the fact that you don't have to baby sit it. You asked what would be the first thing is can in it? It would be my turkey broth in my refrigerator right now. So glad I know how to do it now. I may have to move it to the freezer with all the bones. Thanks again!

      Hi Jordan! Yes the times are the same as a regular pressure canner 💕 all the times and processing instructions can be found on the nchfp website. Here is the link, type whatever you're trying to can in the search bar there and you can find the full instructions nchfp.uga.edu/search.html

      That Turkey bone broth looks awesome. That’s what I would you the Nesco pressure canner for first and then there’s no stopping me.

    Everything! My husband and I are disabled on a fixed income, so we haven’t been able to purchase one for our homestead. This would be such a blessing!

    Hello
    What is the reason for canning the broth then doing pressure cook for 20 minutes??
    I am intrigued to know :)

    • @KristinatMiniSliceoffarm
      @KristinatMiniSliceoffarm  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi zuko! The first round when we did 60 minutes was to actually cook and flavor the broth. The second round, where we put it in jars and put them in the canner for 20 minutes is to make them shelf stable. We don't have to put them in the refrigerator now 😊 they can stay on the shelf for up to 18 months.
