    This is how we cut up a 20lb $6.00 turkey for LOTS of meals!! We made Jerky, canned dices, lunch meat, smoked some and made bone broth 😍 Did you buy an extra turkey this year??

      Wow, excellent work. Amazing price, the cheapest turkey I have found in seattle is .97 per pound but processing it yourself makes for a good deal. Thanks for the video.

      @@TheSonrie10 Thank you so much!! .97 is still amazing, ours is usually $6.99/lb the rest of the year!! You are very welcome!!

    Perfect timing; my oven is not working, and of course Thanksgiving is two days away; so now I have to rely on my toaster oven and since it can't hold a whole turkey I have to cut it up into pieces and cook in batches. This video was spot-on.

    Thanks so much. One large turkey is just too much for my husband and me. Now I have some new ideas for using them when they are on sale. Looking forward to the upcoming videos.

      You are very welcome Julie! I completely agree, we're a family of five with three small children and even the smallest turkey is just too much for us! We just bought another one to make crispy nuggets and grind for turkey burgers and meatballs! Can't wait to share all of the ideas 🥰 Thanks for watching! 💕

    Was the turkey a fresh one or frozen? If frozen, can I refreeze the pieces after cutting it up? Thanks.

    • @KristinatMiniSliceoffarm
      @KristinatMiniSliceoffarm  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi Lynne! The turkey was frozen. If you let it thaw out in the refrigerator (keeping it at a temperature below 38°F while thawing) then yes you can refreeze it 💕

    I'm glad I saw this while there is still time to get a few more Turkeys on Sale :) We don't usually buy a lot of turkey...not a fan of roasted turkey. But I buy them when they are this cheap to grind into Turkey burger. It was always such a pain cutting it up...turns out I was doing it wrong lol. I'll give it another try using your methods. Thank you so much.
    And now I want to try that roasted breast meat for lunch meat and the turkey jerky. I look forward to those videos when you get to them.

They get so expensive in a few weeks when everyone starts to make their new year's resolutions to be healthy lol The next one is going up at 8am EST this morning!! "How to can delicious turkey". The lunch meat and Jerkey are the next 2 coming up after that! Thanks for watching, so excited that these videos are helpful 🥰

    I have cut up plenty of chickens but never a turkey. I do everything like you did except the breast. I love the way you sliced it to wrap the skin around the breast. I have never seen the breast cut up like that. Clever.

    • @KristinatMiniSliceoffarm
      @KristinatMiniSliceoffarm  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you Cynthia!! It makes a big difference in the flavor and juiciness when you roast it with the skin that way 😋💕

      @steakandeggscynthiar.7714 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KristinatMiniSliceoffarm Yes it does. When I cut up chickens I use in casserole or fried them. I don't eat the skin so if I fry I lose my breading. I am going to get a turkey and try doing it the way you did your. My husband was asking me to sliced the breast up on the slicer this year for sandwiches. This will work great. Happy Thanksgiving

    I did this the other day, Turkey was .39 lb I cut it up, and ground the breast and thigh meat. That totaled right at 9 lbs of ground Turkey! I then cut the wing tips from the wing to go with the bones. I ended up with right at 6 qts of Turkey born broth. I did remove all the meat I could to can from the bones. The drumsticks and wings we will roast. I have another one in the freezer for grinding, and one for thanksgiving

      Have you tried adding a few allspice berries when you make your broth? It really bumps up the flavor 😋

    Thank you for the tutorial. This is much better than trying to lift, roast and eat a 12-pound turkey all by myself. You've shown me how to cut it apart in order to cook some now and some later. One thing I would do is use a sheet pan placed on a damp cloth to provide a stable cutting surface. Thank you.

    Since the turkey was frozen already, is it okay if you freeze the turkey a second time? My boyfriend and I get a huge turkey every year, it’s very daunting for me to cook the whole thing at once or make a bunch of different meals at one time 😅.

    • @KristinatMiniSliceoffarm

      Yes you can make it exactly like the chicken tutorial in the Crock-Pot like this th-cam.com/video/h8JeZSYlB58/w-d-xo.html , or in the pressure canner like this th-cam.com/video/U5zO9k0BTAg/w-d-xo.html (this is what I did with the turkey from this video), I saved the skin to wrap around the second breast for the lunch meat, anything extra went in the roasting pan for the bone broth. Here is lunch meat video too if you want that one th-cam.com/video/hBH9Go_t1Uc/w-d-xo.html

    @kristinaminisliceoffarm Hi Kristina, thank you for this video! I have bought 1 turkey already and reserved 3 others, and my goal is to thaw them, cut them, freeze in raw peices, and have throughout the year. I guess I"m worried about it though, about refreezing or thawing or the timing of it and making sure they're still good and don't go bad and the texture doesn't go bad. I've looked for information on this but it appears that no one else has done this. Do you know about this? I can't find anything on it. Your video was the closest I have found, but you are cooking the meat first. I want to freeze it again raw. Do you think you could do a video on this? We'd like to eat turkey throughout the year, so that's why I bought so many. I am also concerned about freezer space so I guess I'll have to buy them a few days apart. I also am concerned about thawing, I don't know a lot about that and I know when you buy them, they're frozen. How long does it take to thaw? Thank you for your help. Michelle

    • @KristinatMiniSliceoffarm
      @KristinatMiniSliceoffarm  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Michelle! This is such a good question and we get it all the time 💕 the only concern with falling out and then refreezing is making sure the meat stays in the safe temperature zone. So if you thaw it out in the refrigerator you will maintain the safe temperature zone, unfortunately that takes forever! So theoretically if you have the refrigerator space you can do all of the turkeys at once. The danger zone 40°F - 140°F for longer than 4 accumulative hours. So given that formula, as long as you can cut up the whole bird and put it back in the freezer within 4 hours you will be fine. I would only do one word at a time given the time crunch so that way you can not feel too stressed out about it.

    • @KristinatMiniSliceoffarm
      @KristinatMiniSliceoffarm  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thaw it in the fridge at a safe temperature (under 40°F). That way you can refreeze it if you want to
