It varies from state to state...not a federal law bud. In KY it has to be a specific threat including EXACTLY HOW they are going to kill you within their threat. Simply saying "I'm going to kill you" will not get you charged.

She started verbally and then came out with her husband, who obviously supported her while she was abusing me. And they were blocking the common stairs to my house, and her husband kept telling me to ‘not’ say anything to his innocent wife while she kept verbally abusing me. I still kept my cool and as when I was about to enter my house, I actually finally said ‘shut up’ to her and they both lose it. I have brother who is a drug addict and is clearly insane. One day I was assisting him in getting some help at a local hospital. The hospital was a 5 minute walk from where we were and the whole time we were walking there together my brother was ranting and screaming about nonsensical things. However, once we got to the receptionist's desk, he acted totally normal. It was strangest thing I've ever seen before because I did not know he was capable of changing his behavior so abruptly. People who are mentally ill do have the ability to change their behavior when it's in their best interests. Unfortunately, our society allows inappropriate behavior to persist and because mental hospitals are few and are usually filled to capacity, abnormal behavior has become normalized.

It varies from state to state...not a federal law bud. In KY it has to be a specific threat including EXACTLY HOW they are going to kill you within their threat. Simply saying "I'm going to kill you" will not get you charged.

Failure to meet 1 of these requirements will result in being charged with multiple felonies.
Only worry about the laws if you’re a woman, or if you’re a man being attacked by a man. In those cases, the police work as they should.

No. This woman was TOTALLY in the wrong. I am a woman and my neighbour, also a woman did the same thing. She started verbally and then came out with her husband, who obviously supported her while she was abusing me. And they were blocking the common stairs to my house, and her husband kept telling me to ‘not’ say anything to his innocent wife while she kept verbally abusing me. I still kept my cool and as when I was about to enter my house, I actually finally said ‘shut up’ to her and they both lose it. I have brother who is a drug addict and is clearly insane. One day I was assisting him in getting some help at a local hospital. The hospital was a 5 minute walk from where we were and the whole time we were walking there together my brother was ranting and screaming about nonsensical things. However, once we got to the receptionist's desk, he acted totally normal. It was strangest thing I've ever seen before because I did not know he was capable of changing his behavior so abruptly. People who are mentally ill do have the ability to change their behavior when it's in their best interests. Unfortunately, our society allows inappropriate behavior to persist and because mental hospitals are few and are usually filled to capacity, abnormal behavior has become normalized.
