    You make the best educational videos I have ever seen (better than irl teaching), I admire your passion and clarity while teaching the topic! Do keep making such videos as they are of great help to students. I would rather learn from Ninja Nerd than go to my college. Thanks for spending so much time and effort on the videos! Absolutely love your videos.

    24:46 Nursing Student here: I get that hypoxia drive the system to breath harder and faster and the obstructions are preventing oxygen intake. However, you just spoke about the obstructions of gas exchange in the lungs which are preventing O2 entering and CO2 exiting. But then you say that because of the hypoxic effect, O2 can't enter but you keep blowing off CO2... which you just said isn't happening because of the obstruction. Can anyone clarify how CO2 is still escaping while O2 can't enter?

    • @EerybodyIsAnnoying
      @EerybodyIsAnnoying 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I'm confused about this too 😩
      Edit: I found on google that CO2 difuses 20 times faster than O2, because it is more soluble than O2. And about the obstructions, I think there are still parts of the lungs which can ventilate properly, for example with pulmonary oedema, the lower parts of the lungs wont work propperly, because that's where the fluid builds up(gravity pulls it down), but the apex is fine. Or if there is a pulmonary embolism, the embolus will likely block of circulation to one lung, or one part of a lung, ane the rest of the lungs is fine, but now there is less surface area for gas exchange. So the compensation happens through the still healthy parts of the lung, which arr enough for CO2 to be pushed out, but not enough for adequate O2 intake. I hope this explanation wasn't too confusing.

    When blood CO2 drops, the reaction shifts to the left, making H+ drops, but why not also HCO3- drops as well ( these two ions are in the same reaction) ? I hope someone could explain this a bit more for me. Thanks!

    Hello! I love your videos and they have been super helpful in my studying! I have a question regarding the example of increased intracranial pressure, where ridding the body of CO2 would lead to cerebral vasculature vasoconstriction. Without increased intracranial pressure influence, would ridding the body of CO2 through hyperventilation still cause cerebral vasculature vasoconstriction? Would this contribute to anxiety, mental health, or sleep disorders?

    Hello Mr. ninja nerd a.k.a. Zack
    I’ve been asking about knowing how ventilators work and what happens if you aspirate I really am trying to understand. I am not smart but I like the way you explain things as I told you before. I am really trying to understand the respiratory system. It’s a little difficult for me one I’m a quadriplegic and I really can’t press all the buttons and I don’t know in what order the respiratory lectures go. My Titi Diana passed away I’m trying to understand why. She was doing well the doctor was telling it’s me that she would never be responsive.but she started to be responsive and then it went downhill I really wish that I can learn from you or maybe tell me where to begin with your lessons like I said I didn’t finish school I know I said The last time I wouldn’t ask anymore because I felt like I was degrading myself or I’m just not important enough for this kind of community of people. but I just seen respiratory and I’m asking again thank you
