    I am 34 years old, and have been a doctor in the UK for 10 years. I have 2 kids, a single parent and I have been revising with your channel for the past couple of months for my first exam in over 10 years which is on Thursday. I have never (even 16years ago when I started medical school!) understood the topics as well as I do now. You are amazing and I am so grateful, so glad I found your channel. If I pass this exam its down to you. Trying to revise, single parent, work, and be present is just so hard. You have turned this around for me. Thank you.

      @DavidRobertson-nw9iv ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was thinking the same thing. Thanks for the confirmation.
      As I understand it, if it is pure AGMA, the increase in anion gap should nearly equal (1-2x) the decrease in bicarb.
      If the bicarb decreased more than the AG increased, (delta ratio < 1) then there is something other than AGMA causing a decrease in bicarb (ie diarrhea) so we must have concurrent NAGMA and AGMA.
      If the bicarb decreased less than the AG increased, (delta ratio > 2) then there is something other than AGMA causing an increase in bicarb (ie vomiting) so we must have concurrent metabolic alkalosis and AGMA.
