I'm really excited about getting a SPAN panel. I love the review. You brought up some things I hadn't thought of which I immensely appreciate. However, if you think those components are going to last 20 years because of software updates I'd say think again. At a minimum I know that there are a 5g cellular radio, wifi radio, a NIC, some fans (because it needs to cool these parts) and since it has all of those components, likely a CPU inside there. Something from that will have to be replaced eventually. Maybe SPAN sends that out to you, and it's minimal effort on your part - these details I don't know. I'm simply trying to impart that giving folks an expectation that this isn't another thing to break (because you could perform a software update) is misleading. This is not a negative critique of the Panel. I think computer components which will eventually fail are a necessary evil for the features they're delivering. Regardless, I am excited to, and will be purchasing a SPAN panel to replace what I have today.
Te problem is when the company no longer supports its product like DJI or they sell the company then what is it going to be 10 years unit my panel is 26 years old and still running
Span has a local API and local application updates access. This was one of my first questions when interacting with the company. It also literally will work as a "dumb" panel.
Who puts a new SPAN breaker panel outside the house ? My circuit breakers were also outside my house, but the SPAN panel was installed inside the garage where it should be.
Where it Should be? If it’s rated nema 3r or nema4 or better it should and can be outside without compromise… did ya happen to notice the underground conduit coming into the panel? If someone wanted to change the panel to interior it would cost more and isn’t a quick fix if done proper.

Yeah, this is just a propaganda video. I arrived at this page because of a couple of ads for the product popped up on my Instagram. This guy was literally in one them. The other thing that tells me it's just propaganda is the water outlet next to him. An ad for that same device ALSO popped up on my Instagram! Not to mention he showed zero proof that the panel actually saved him any money on his power bills.
