Nice. This was the only video I could find that specifically dealt with using a dehydrator. We are in Maine and it's not supposed to be a perennial up here, but, we piled a bunch of leaves around a couple of plants 3 years ago and it has Leafed right out every Spring since. Actually just trimmed the plant, that looks like a bush, (has 2 trunks) this morning. We're loving having free sage for our sausage making! TYFS
@@IndianaBackyardGardener I slept on my basil and cilantro last year. I did have a little basil to carry me through the winter but I plan on hitting the herbs hard this yr
Great Video! I am getting ready to dehydrate some herbs and veggies for the first time this weekend, so this video is very helpful. Thank you! Stay Blessed! 😇🙏❤
Thanks. I harvested from it once this yr but now it's past due for a second harvest. I'm thinking about cutting it back a little at the end of the season. It's getting to big for me.
Thank you for the video. Do you find that the seals release overtime on the jars? Mine stayed sealed anywhere from a week to several months but not longer.
Is that more than one plant? I'm growing some, but I'm not sure how I should plant them. I thing I need the cordless sealer. Thanks👍😎🌴🌻🌸😀😎🌴👍 - LazyLizLife
your herb buckets are exactly what I want to do with my herbs! right now I have them in small containers, but I was thinking about transferring them to a bigger container. Do you leave yours out for the winter? I'm not sure if mine are going to die off if it gets too cold down here in north carolina. Sometimes it gets really cold, other times it doesn't.
Thanks for watching. I'm up here in Baltimore Md and most of my herbs do just fine all winter. Oregano, Sage, Lavender, Bee Balm, Lemon Balm, Mints, Thyme, Rosemary, and Chives all survive the winters just fine. I cut all of them except the sage and rosemary down to about 2 inches at the end of the season.
I am up in Pacific Northwest region. I usually cover big & lil pots with some dead leaf mulch in late fall to protect from freezing! Last yr I didn't get a few pots mulched & they didn't do well! But when I give them that lil bit of protective cover, they winter really well! Year before last I ended up with some spinach that kept producing in the pot all throughout the winter! It final petered out in spring!😂😂❤ This last season it was a sprig of Kale that snuck up out of a crack in the courtyard pavement! I had to make a ring of bricks to keep people from ripping it out, or trampling! But it has given off daily produce all winter long! Even weeks of some pretty hard freezing! ( Low teens, etc)
@@cristineconnell7803 this comment was from 3 seasons ago! Now all of my perennials are in the ground that I started from seed that year and are thriving! I haven’t covered them since that year and they have been perfect!
Thank you for the video. I am very new to herbs. I trimmed a bunch of sage and left it to air dry with my thyme. It all turned black and looked like mildew. I’m guessing I did it wrong. Is there another option if I don’t have a dehydrator?

I wish that I could help. I've never tried air drying. Hopefully, with a little more research, you'll find the answer.
Putting on top of BBQ in the warm sun can help dry! Or low temp in your oven!
A little late but would this also work with salvia or mint?
Yes. I do the same thing with all my herbs. I also put in the moisture evaporation packs now. Thanks for watching.
