  • Today we had a red wine tasting paired delicately with an antipasto platter of cheese, chocolate, meat and fruits. A heavenly experience!
The platter comprised of prosciutto, beef carpaccio, salami (and salami sticks), black olives, ciabatta, seasonal local cheeses (Dalewood camembert, Huguenot (semi- hard full fat)) seasonal strawberries, peach homemade jam, butter, melba toast and rich dark chocolate brownies. Total cost of the platter for 2 people was ZAR/ R 259 or USD/ $ 17 excl. 10% gratuity.
The wine tasting comprised 3 of the farm's reds: shiraz, merlot and cabernet sauvignon. Total tasting cost for 2 people was ZAR/ R 65 or USD/ $ 4 excl. 10% gratuity.
We have a very informative sommelier (Janke) that provided insights into the wines smoky cigar, spicy, plum and full bodied notes.
This wine farm is also known for its cave tasting rooms (you sit inside caves as you experience your wines!). Because we didn't book this in advance, we were not able to allocate a spot at this busy time but perhaps we'll come through on another occasion to do this exciting activity.
All in all this was a very hospitable service with a friendly host, great atmosphere and delectable food/ wine pairing. #goodmorning #winetasting #capewinelands #durbanvillwinelands #kleinroosboom #antipasto
Now I just want to curl up in bed and go back to sleep!

I've never heard of this place before, is it quite new? Would love to go there next time we are in Cape Town 🍷
